NZ is a very good ODI and Side... and look almost unbeatable at home

India seems to be steam rolling this side, already 2-0 in a 5 match series.

The same ODI side defeated Pakistan 5-0 in 2018...

There is seemingly collective amnesia about that ODI series since we won the t20s series subsequently, and were bowled out for 74 in one game.

The gulf of class between the teams only seems to be widening, with new faces dominating the headlines for India, whereas the same old faces are present in the side for us almost reaching almost 40.

Besides the infamous CT final and a game in Asia Cup 2014 we seem to have been losing all the big games...

The fast bowling, spin department seems to be unimpressive (besides Shaheen Shah) while the batsman only seem to be playing for themselves rather than the team. (Cue Imam's tweet after losing the game)

When will we start playing collectively as a unit rather than relying on individual brilliance to win games?

I think the Asia cup already established that there is basically no comparison now, India is a vastly superior side, while Pak regressed massively since CT.

It depends who you ask. Partisanship aside, the Indians are now playing as a unit and their body language suggests they are enjoying it. They have developed enough talent and can afford to switch and/or rest a few key players in non-consequential games.

Ours is still the same ol, same ol, everyone fighting for survival in the team and those not part of the team truing to get back in any way they can

Last but not the least, we did beat India to win the CT :)

India have a world class batting line up who all play positive cricket and for the team. Also they have all bases covered with the ball, our batting is minnow like. Batsmen win you msjority of ODI games. We were lambs to slaughter in asia cup and in new zealand.

This. It should actually be a good thing, but for some reason it’s doing more bad than good to PCT.

India cant put a foot wrong. They are the team to beat.

Pakistan needs a fresh think tank. New Chairman, selector and captain.

Mickey is doing alright.

india as a country is headed the right way and it shows in their cricket.

even bangladesh

pakistan, go figure

Ind - Pak H2H record in this decade (since 2011) is 11-5 in India's favour. So its quite obvious Indian cricket is well ahead at present. Pak should consider themselves lucky we don't play regular bilateral cricket...else the overall h2h record (last bragging right for Pak) will take a massive hit as well.

.

Spot on - Mickey has done the best he can in ODIs with the constraints one has to contend with Pakistan cricket.

New faces? Rayudu/Dhoni/Jhadav are playing..Gill,Shaw,Pant still havent made it into the team.

As if Asia cup wasn't enough of an evidence? Followed by the AUS series recently concluded? Remember when you guys would play bangladesh 10 years back, steam roll to victory. NO CONTEST what so ever, slight hick up here and there but the difference of strength was there to be seen. It's the same between india and the rest of the asian counterparts at the current moment.

India team looks great. Kedar is an extremely useful player. Can bowl 5 or more overs and average 40 plus with a healthy strike rate. The bowling consistently take wickets. Pakistan’s strength in the past was bowling. But at the moment only Shaheen and Shadab are taking wickets. Hasan needs to regain his wicket taking abilities and Junaid needs to return.

Indians have everything going for them. Massive bench strength where the absence of 1-2 players will not hurt the team and they are able to rest and rotate the players effectively as well

Pakistani in the CT trophy final had a really good day and cashed in on being in very good form. But success in international cricket in the long run demands that every player deal with the chinks in their armor and sadly the bulk of our players have not stepped up their game barring Babar and maybe Imam

My gut feeling tells me the biggest difference has been Rahul Dravid taking ownership of the U-19 and A team.

I think, it’s more logical to judge their respective performance based on their direct encounter. Last 2 games India beat PAK inside 29 & 38 overs with the cost of 3 wickets in total on what is PAK’s home for a decade (& India not playing for a decade & half there), without Kohli and Sarfraz winning both tosses.

MS Dhoni is the prime example. Rayudu CSK connection. Many CSK guys got included mysteriously over the years with no rhyme or reason.
Dhoni is selected because of his own self made clout. Do you think Sachin getting selected was because of his Mumbai connection? No - they have become too big to drop.

Rayudu is a player of Mumbai Indian, not CSK. He is there because the selectors see in him something that fans are not able to see. I remember that Rayudu used to be regarded as the best among the U-19 bunch of cricketers in early 2000s. He in fact was the under 19 captain and he captained the U-19 team that had Dhawan, Karthik, Suresh Raina, R P Singh, Irfan Pathan etc. While the players playing under him graduated to senior team much before him, now he seems to have finally find a place in the Indian team belatedly.

Even I find nothing special in him, but who knows, he may surprise us with some special performances in the world cup.

He's with CSK since last year

This is absurd. Raina who is VC if CSK has been dropped. Ashwin was dropped and Jaddu too has just made a comeback. Murali Vijay who too played for CSK was never considered although he made a t20 century. Same with Badrinath.

Just because Rayudu came in after a fabulous 2018 ipl doesn't mean all CSK players are selected
