I am looking to do a part-time job in the UK while studying at the university such as hotel management or airport volunteering so I want to ask people if its possible for a Pakistani passport holder to work part time in UK while studying in university?

Officially and legally you can work a certain number of hours a week - think it's 16 or 20. There are a few immigration solicitors on here so I'm sure someone will be along shortly to give you a more detailed answer.

Unofficially lots of foreign students work more, get paid cash and don't declare it. I'd be very careful about going down this route though as:

1 - the more hours you work the less you'll have to study and socialise and;
2 - if you get caught they may revoke your student visa and deport you.

Are you even coming to study or is that the cover story? :)

Who's going to give you a part time job in "hotel management"? Although I understand that in parts of the sub-Continent, cafe's and restaurants are often referred to as a 'hotel'. And by 'hotel management' do you mean as a waiter or dishwasher in a restaurant? If so, then I'm sure you'll have no problem finding a part-time job.

As for 'airport volunteering', heck I don't know what that means on the sub-continent, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to get a job as a 'volunteer' with a Pakistani passport at a UK airport. You do realise that in the UK, volunteering jobs means working without pay?

The visa stamp would say. In the past all students were allowed to work 20 hours a week and do overtime during college/uni holidays.

Things may have changed now. Just make sure to check the visa stamp if it states any work restrictions.

20 hours a week if you are on a study abroad programme at an "overseas higher education institution" in the UK. 10 hours a week if you are studying a course that is below degree level at an HEI.
