Pakistan has rejected the Chinese demand of using Chinese currency in Gawadar.

Why China asked for it?

Because it is easier to convert from Chinese Yuan to Pakistan ruppee and vice versa, than to go from Yuan-USD-PKR.

And it wasn't a demand but a request to use it in just the Gwadar Free Zone and not all of Gwadar... the purpose was for the ease of business. Pakistan rejected the request.
