Lahore January 22: A star-studded commentators’ line-up is set to keep fans enthralled in the third season of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) that commences in Dubai on February 22.

Keeping up with the top-class commentating standards established in the first two seasons, the third season takes a bigger leap with an assembly of superstars.

HBL PSL household names Ramiz Raja, Danny Morrison, Alan Wilkins and Bazid Khan would be joined by Australian stars Michael Slater and Damien Fleming while former West Indian Test opener Daren Ganga also makes his HBL PSL commentating debut.

Slater and Fleming were mainstays of Australia’s world beating Test and ODI teams of the late 1990s that carried their winning momentum well past the new millennium.

Since retirement, the duo travels around the world lending their voice to leading cricket tournaments including ICC events, their unique commentary styles have captured the imagination of fans all over.

Ganga is another significant addition to the commentator’s roster; the West Indian played 48 Tests, 35 ODIs and a solitary T20I for his team, he has established himself in the commentator’s box with his excellent delivery and cricketing expertise which has thrilled the fans around the globe.

Michael Slater

Damien Fleming

Daren Ganga

great signing all three are very good

This years line up is much better than last year. Missing Ian Bishop though.

No Ian Bishop ?

Time to put the matches on mute then. Slater is a buffoon.

Will be missing Ian Bishop, he is one of my favourite commentators in cricket right now.

Now no one would taunt him as Chacha Bashira during PSL.

Good slate but as others have said, disappointed not to see Ian Bishop. He will probably commentate at the WC qualifiers.

Will be missing ian bishop. He is best commentator in the world right now.

Ian bishop is a rare sane voice out there. He will be missed.

No Ian Bishop???

That's a loss but quite surprised to see Michael Slater and Damien Fleming. Nice to see Darren Ganga there.

Will miss Bishop but glad to see the Australian commies. Also I like Wilko as well.

Seriously dissapointed. By the 3rd season we should have attracted better commentators, Darren Ganga seriously?

Why not Ian Chappell? Nasser Hussain? Michael Holding? So many better alternatives

chappell and holding for t20.
They consider t20 as tamasha cricket.

What the heck? Did this seriously happen?

I don't remember what exactly was said, but it was pretty cringeworthy listening to it live and Bishop was clearly trying to keep his calm while the clowns were buffoning away.

Yes i rememeber but i think it was in a lighter note and Ian was enjoying it?

They gotta get rid of that Morrison guy, he is too unprofessional and will drop out of commentating in Pakistan at the last moment or something.

Ganga can barely get the words out of his mouth, why is he there? Couldn't they have gotten another Pakistani commentator?

Interesting line up but haven't heard Ganga commentate, so not sure how good he is.

final in karachi will probably be bazid rameez and dean jones..lets see if he can convince slats or fleming to make the trip..

I fail to understand how on earth Bazid Khan is recommended as a commentator. I know people will say Harsha Bhogle also never played cricket. Bazid was a failed first class cricketer therefore him commentating sitting with far more experienced ex cricketers in commentary box leaves a bad taste in mouth.
If he was not a son of Majid Khan, he would not even have made it at first class level.

I like everyone except Bazid Khan. He is intelligent and possesses good knowledge of cricket but listening him is never " good on ears". He is a made shift commentator, not a natural one.

Only thing keeping the matches alive in empty stadiums are the commentators... aussies fleming and slater are doing their job quite well...
Like Slater's raised energetic voice during afridi's outstanding catch made it even more enjoyable
Baz and Rambo could learn a trick or two from them on how to raise their voices to an excitement level during boundaries and wickets

Slater is genuinely outstanding without the Channel 9 crew alongside him, and Fleming is another excellent addition. They've done very well in terms of commentator selections this time around. Bish is overrated, surprised to see so many fans of him here.

So far so good, but they need to get rid of the clown Danny Morrison. He is lame and cringeworthy, but unfortunately it is not going to happen.

Think that's why they need him in the comm box. A hyper commentator who is so bad its good.

Alan wilkins is the worst of them all. No insights whatsoever and his "chuckkaaaaa" is not funny or exciting anymore. Ian Bishop should replace him next season and that would make a very good team of commentators with a bit of diversity in terms of personalities

Except Ramiz Raja all the commentators have been brilliant and only think that makes me watch these boring matches is the standard of commentary... Ramiz is rubbish and doesn't know what hez talking; except gigantic and mesmerising he doesn't know any other word; Bazid is developing T20 genes as a commentator and good thing is he has learnt to speak at proper time rather than peeking his nose without any need, although sometimes he loses his way; wilkins is good except is chakhaaa and all that urdu nonsense, needs to stop that nonsense and concentrate on commentating; Danny is brilliant and doesn't matter what haters say about him; Slats and Fleming have been best; dont know where is daren Ganga guy, he was also supposed to be there; missing Ian Bishop badly but i guess hez busy with WC qualifiers so good luck to him

Also Slats said he is coming to Pakistan(last night on air) so that's great as we won't have waqar and wasim commentating in Pakistan

Aap ke liye Chisti Mujahid ka fouran bandobast karte hai.

I think the commentary has been pretty solid so far and I'm pretty impressed. I mean there into the league and are generally looking like there having fun. But why bring Darren Ganga in if he's busy with World Cup qualifiers. Really impressed with Slater and Fleming. If Darren can't come, would love to see Bumble or somone good

Except for Bazid Khan every one is doing a great job. Bazid is way too slow reacting to live action.

I don't know why a lot of posters have an issue with Bazid. I personally think that he's a good insightful commentator. He balances the team out pretty well.

Hoping for Ian Bishop to return next year, man his insights are always great to hear.

If England isn't playing next year during the PSL season, maybe we could get Nassar Hussain, Bumble, and Atherton as well. Dream team!

Ian Bishop is Gold. Bazid is good for test or ODI matches. You need fast paced commentators for T20s and Bazid is a notch slow for T20s.

I think he has improved this year (balances out Morrison as well). He's one of the best commentators from Pakistan, unlike Raja who has absolutely no insight into the countries cricket.

I wish Aamir Sohail could keep his political comments to himself and just concentrate on commenting on the cricket. Wasn't that bad of a commentator.

Pakistan lack good commentators. Ramiz Raja is the only one cashing in.

Bazid is so much better than Ramiz. He actually knows intuitive and analytical cricket talk. Ramiz is weird at times and says immature stuff he shouldn't be.

fleming and slater are thorough professionals. Top level commentators. While its their first season at psl and they speak as if they have a genuine interest for the tournament and are not here just to earn cash. Happy to see them give it their all. :14:
Danny's extreme energy balances out Ramiz's repetition of words

Ramiz Raja ridiculous and embarrassing often. Also, just heard Slats and Fleming confirm with Wilko that all 3 will be in Pakistan which is awesome!

Are all of these commentators coming Pakistan then?

Flemings obviously not coming but what about the rest?

Did he come last year?

flemming, Slater, langer, Warner, bevan, Taylor probably have fond memories of Pakistan. Perhaps even Healy. They breached the ultimate barrier at that time when they beat Pakistan in Pakistan in a test series: it was the 98 tour I think

Ganga is a pain to listen to. I would rather listen to Chishty.
