Congratulations Pakistan.. What a game !

At one stage Pakistan looked dead and buried but a great partnership between captain Sarfraz And Amir saw them home

Well done

Congrats to them, most entertaining game of the tournament, well played Amir,Fakhar!

Congrats - low scoring matches are often the character tester ...........

freaking awesome game. by far the best game of the tourney.
Near choke and then a recovery. all the way to the end.

Except that now Pakistan will be stuck with the same incompetent batting lineup till the 2019 World Cup.

Cricket is a funny game.

Sri Lanka chased over 300 runs with ease against India.

Against Pakistan couldn't get to 250.

And Pakistan made it seem like it was the hardest mountain to climb when it was a walk in a park.

mubarak ho, i would like to see gangulys face now lol regardless pak did get lucky but a win is a win :) hoping for a good game agaisnt england

Worst ever MoM adjudication - that 28* it self was good enough for a No. 9, and he took Dickwella & Mathews, got Guna dropped by the man won MoM .....

He is still paying for that few buck he earned ......

Great fighting spirit to cross the line at the end, with a little help from the opposition :malinga

Pak was under control after the 7th wicket tbh, Lanka had no venom in their bowling apart from Malings two chances missed, there was to many soft, weak batting which got them in that situation. Otherwise, should've been walk in the park!

Congratulations Pakistan, probably the second best game of the tournament after Bangladesh vs New Zealand :shakib

Amir should be the captain of Pakistan. Sarfraz would have been out at least four times, 2 run out chances and 2 catches dropped - his innings reminded me of Ashraful

Congrats Pakistani fans! Although it must be frustrating for you lot to always win in such dramatic fashion, always a rollercoaster of emotions with Pakistani matches. :))

Congrats to Pakistan and my Pak friends on this forum. Was a thrilling game. Hard luck to my Lankan friends.

Must be really hard to be a Pakistani fan. Need to have strong nerves for the roller coaster ride.

IMHO, Pakistan has got the team selection spot on after the first game (why on earth was Wahab selected, I do not know).. Still feel Hafeez is a weak link!

Enjoy the win!

Wow I called it when amir came out that if amir stickers around and bats like he does in tests we will still win this with Sarfraz there.

thanx and Azhar need the be dropped to.

Sarfraz was up there with him. 2 wickets and 28 doesnt look like MoM stuff maybe thats why they went with Sarfraz.

I am sure you have watched the match in CricInfo.

He was the difference today between PAK chasing 296 & 236, first

Then, he was instrumental in settling & protecting his shaking Captain when PAK needed 70+ for last 3 wickets.

You are looking at final figure, when Sarfu had scored about 15 of last 20 runs basically after the match was won. In first 50 of that partnership, Amir out scored him.

It wouldn't have been a bad idea to give it to Fakhar Zaman for his rapid 50. It was his innings that allowed Pakistan to chase down the remaining runs at a low required run rate.

Those 2 wickets are game changer actually - one of Anjelo, other one the highest scorer of the day. Game is won on critical moments - yesterday Bumrah won MoM for his 2/28 I believe, but he cracked SAF's batting when it mattered.

Had Guna been caught by Sarfu, Amir could have been MoM on bowling alone.

Leave Malik, today was a bad day. He was instrumental against SAF.

Agreed
He has been better and more solid Pak player in last two years.

But expected better from him today as it was a do or die situation.

Hafeez has to be the most timid darpook player Pak has ever produced. A tailender disguise as a batsman all these years. We were fooled.

I rather give credit to Malinga - his experience told him which length to bowl. Few yorkers & Malik would have remained not out to walk past the target. MoHa is selfish, more than anything else. I am sure, he took it as an opportunity to score a 70* today & scooped a simple ball from extra caution.

I am sure Pom pacers are practicing with tennis ball on a 18 metre wicket to hit a target at 5 feet height ........

Yes plus they should deducted some points from Sarfaraz for 'faking' that he didn't know if had cleanly taken that catch.

Congratulations folks, I'm so happy for Pakistan... Well done and enjoy the moment.

The batting still needs to come good against England though... Believe guys, not many thought you'd beat NZL in the 1992 WC semi finals but you did, so believe and anything is possible.

He was helpful, but it was Sarfraz who had to do bulk of scoring.

Outscoring for 20 runs doesn't really matter.

Pakistan didn't win this match, Sri Lanka lost it. 3 dropped catches, including one in first over, then twice of Sarfraz and the fielding was just too bad let like 35 runs on the field. I think Lanka deserved to lose. Hopefully they will learn their lesson. Lucky day for Pakistan.

I don't think there is anything to congratulate us for. We played very ordinary cricket but SL were simply terrible.

Pakistan thrashed SL...
And SL thrashed India..
So.. Pakistan trashed India indirectly...

Or instead of such transitive logic, we can refer to 4th june - India thrash Pakistan, which render the equation to INDIA >> Pakistan. :srini
