what an achievement, something that even javed miandad couldnt do, who came close to it thrice.

what an innings and that so in a day night test.

first batsmen to score 300 in a daynight test, may this record stand for many years.

Congratioulations to Azhar Ali for making a triple century

Fourth Pakistani to the landmark. :hanif :yk :inzi :azhar

Congrats.

Not easy to get a 300 anywhere irrespective of the conditions and the opposition.

300
There was a time where it looked he wouldn't be able to get a 200.

@hardwork

Congrats to Azhar Ali

Salute Sir Azhar Ali.. Always been a big supporter of him in ODIs and Test Matches.. deservedly leads the side in ODIs and will be the goto man, leader and talisman of the side after Misbah leaves..
Fantastic achievement!

World class player.

Joins the ATGs, the elite company, the crème de la crème:

*Hanif Muhammad* *Inzamam-ul-Haq* *Younus Khan* and *Azhar Ali*

Congratulations Azhar, a milestone test innings. We need more of these type of innings from Azhar, Asad, Babar and Sarfraz before Misbah and Younis call it a day.

Congratulations... 300 anywhere and against any opposition is a remarkable achievement... Adding to that to get it in UAE (scorching heat) is very special

Mashallah.Mashallah.Mashallah.
If Azhar were Ahmed shehzad,he would have considered 300 runs as 600.

Great Effort! Good declaration point from the match perspective, but wish he was allowed to bat on to see how far he could go. Would have been great to beat Lara's record against WI!

Congrats Azhar. Good job and effort regardless of the opposition or conditions. Hope you get more!

I guess Aussies have most triple hundreds?

What a batsman, always supported him in tests. Might end up as the greatest test opener for Pakistan.

Congrats what an innings... Lot of effort stamina and hard work behind it

Congrats. He and Misbah have been very inspirational the past few years. They just put their head down, do the hard work & the rewards come their way. Delighted for Azhar today

Hearty Congratulations to Azhar Ali. 300 is no mean feat. Good luck for the future.

Brilliant knock from Azhar.

Can anyone mention all the ex- Pakistani cricketers that got 300 earlier?

World class batsmen..

Potentially the best opener in the world..

This innings has left shafiq in his dust and propelled him to another level.

Both started their careers at the same time and both average in the early 40's, but Azhar has shown the hunger and attitude to score big, plus proving to be the better investment and the right one, especially if he plays as an opener and can average around 42-46.

Seems wrong. Doesn't McCullum himself have two triples??

No McCullum has only one and he is the only kiwi to have one. Crowe was run out on 299.

Aus 7 (6 people - Bradman twice,Cowper,Simpson,Hayden,Taylor,Clarke)
Eng 5 (5 people) - Sandham,Hammond,Hutton, Eldrich, Gooch
India 2 (Sehwag alone)
Nz 1(B Mac alone)
Pak 4 (4 people) - Hanif,Inzi,YK, Azhar
SA 1 (amla alone)
SL 3 (3 people) - Sanath, Mahela, Sanga
WI 6 (4 people) - Sobers, Rowe, Gayle (twice), Lara (twice)

*BELIEVE IT OR NOT - GAYLE HAS 2 TRIPLES IN TEST CRICKET

Well done Azhar Ali for taking this opportunity, hitting it out of the park. Nothing in the pitch or in the bowling.

Sami aslam wasting too much balls or Asad Shafiq again getting himself caught failed to avail the opportunity. Its theirs for the taking they are playing a demoralized worst side with an 8th ranking just above Zmbabwe. If others like Babar Azam, Sami Aslam, Shafiq don't join the party its their loss.

Javed Miandad must be sulking seeing the teams Pakistan plays, if Pakistan would've such 8th, 9th ranked teams more in his era he would've made few 300s himself. Even the minnow of his era Sri Lanka team was way better than this Brady bunch that has arrived from West Indies.

Thanks

I've always felt Gayle is very underrated as a test player

Averages 45 as opener in over 100 tests. 45 is top tier for an opener and is comparable to 50 for a middle order batsman. Very few apart from Hayden have averaged 40+

He did pwn India mercilessly. (By no means I am saying India were a minnow back then). But he did score a 280*
