Agree with Rajdeep. It's sort of meaningless. I mean we are playing 39 year old retirees in a meaningless series against Bangladesh while Australia/Kiwis rested their gun players.

Australia lost 5 bilateral T20 series in a row before the World T20. They still won the trophy.

Its a good stat, and it shows we played well in that format this year, but the most valuable stat or win, would have been the t20 world cup itself. Imagine having the most wins in t20 for the year 2021, winning the t20 world cup, and not losing a match in the t20 world cup, now that would be the icing on the cake. That being said this is still a good stat, but need to move forward, and see how we can still improve and become even a better cricketing team

Not true we haven’t reached a final
Since 2009 best teams get to finals and win.

The stat is more down to us taking every match seriously even against minnows while other teams regularly rest players and play reserve teams in bilaterals full teams are mostly only played in world cups.

Most important stat, is the t20 world cup, in which India kept saying they would win the whole thing, before the tourney even started, that the Mighty India would stream roll past ever team.....but i can seem to remember now if I am not mistaken, did India get out of the Super 12 stage, and only had wins vs Namibia and Scotland

WT20 is kinda lottery in the current format. Love the 50 over format, every team plays each other and there's enough games which weeds out weaker teams. This one was even more flukey especially with tosses being so key, Aus didn't really dominate this WC win unlike the other WCs they've won.

Finch acknowledged he got lucky but still they won it.

This WC anyway seemed a little less important with one being there in next 9 months and UAE for some reason is always such a dull place for cricket, let alone an ICC event.

50 overs is also long enough to weed out the weaker team during the game itself. As any mistake or flukes can be overcome over the course of an innings.
