Cant rule out a april long lock down. But after that it would be impossible.
Even if lockdown is lifted it would be phase wise and state wise.
But he succeeded in removing/silencing anti CAA protesters,most of his loyal followers will be satisfied with that outcome.Modi Ji never implements anything gradually. Demonetization, GST, article 370 and now this lockdown. He loves giving surprises.

Solution is not to move forward so quickly give people time like tell em that in a week's time we are going on a lockdown so get out and get involved give these guys tickets or else ask tham to stay in the city for the time being and register as a migrant worker and than get involved in moving these guys out by providing buses with covid 19 protection like the distance, sanitizer

What is done after a patient tests positive for the first time?Isn't some sort of medication administered?How are people recovering?

Kejriwal didn’t impose the country wide lockdown with 4 hours notice and no planning - Modi did that.
As far as I can make out, Kejriwal is trying his best to manage a real bad situation thrust upon him.
He’s not gone missing like messenger Modi or Home Minister Shah.
Has a similar migrant crisis happened anywhere else in the country? There are innumerable migrants workers in Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal etc...the situation seems to better handled there (at least for now)

I was just going by the criteria posted above which mentioned those patients showing no evidence of a fever were tested 24-48 hours later. In her case she is not having a fever but is carrying the virus. She could be asymptomatic. Need more information to confirm.
What medicine is available other than paracetamol to reduce the pain?
People recover once antibodies are formed in their immune system to repel the virus.
Ventilators are useful if the patient shows breathing difficulties so that they can continue to live whilst their immune system fights the virus. No medicine available to help defeat this unfortunately.

The only way I could understand multiple testing is that perhaps her symptoms for the disease have gone away indicating that she might have recovered. To really make sure she has recovered they are testing her again. Though I am not sure if it makes any sense to retest to make sure a person doesn't have the virus anymore. I don't think most countries are following this protocol since tests are a rare commodity.
If her symptoms are getting better she should still remain at home and continue to self isolate for at least 10 days.
The virus has no cure. There is no medicine against the disease. If a person is tested positive they should remain home, eat healthy, drink warm herbal tea and rest. If the symptoms get worst like difficulty breathing then you should go to a hospital and perhaps need a ventilator to help you breathe.
In patients with critical conditions where the disease has gone on to develop severely the doctors might be administrating different medicament as an experiment to see if they help. At that point the patient is almost an experimental bunny.

They need to stop spreading panic. The virus didn't originate in India, an average Indian is most likely not a carrier yet. No one knows if the transmission is happening or not. It most probably isn't.
A large crowd doesn't automatically mean a rapid transmission of the virus. It also doesn't mean certain catastrophic deaths.

Lockdown is not easy for a country like India. You have to tough enough to survive in this condition. Lockdown is for far better thing. You have to survive lots of things like this. Even if government give people time to go, some will not go till last minute. It is what it is. We are not China, if government announce that we are going to lockdown after 5 days. Same thing would happen and then people says why not do it immediately and giving people time for this type of exodus. In truth, no simple situation and handling of this matter. We are fighting with a enemy with we have no idea and no experience. It's same in all countries, pakistan is in same boat and I think bangaladesh has only two digit positive cases due to not testing. We can only pray that bhagwan ji will help us in these circumstances.

Lockdown was done so nobody travels,i will give you one example a lady was asked not to travel and be in isolation but she jumped quartinine and decided to travel in train,she was covid positive ended up infecting 5 other people and God's knows how many as she went to meet and greet everybody in market.Looking at those UP labourer pics is tough. Karnataka man who died was traveling by train, a couple also jumped quartinine and traveled to Delhi by train
A whole premise was not allow anybody to travel.
What if any one migrant work have virus he will end up infecting whole village like the two preacher in Punjab and Kashmir both traveled by Plane, bus and train.
States were asked to looked after them, but apart from kerala, chatteshgarh, Up and to some extent Maharashtra and Karnataka no body took action.
As good as Kejriwal is doing but he shouldn't have left left worker on borders to die.
Just think one virus positive worker and he will took down whole village in up like Punjab preacher took down in Punjab.
Lockdowns was the only way to go.

Why is Delhi govt using DTDC buses to drop migrants at the UP border? Which other govt is doing so? None.
Almost all govts are running free kitchens for poor migrants.
My state, run by a staunch anti Modi politician started sending out food through police to poor migrants. Now 100s of civilians and many NGOs are contributing to it.

That's the issue. It's like a catch 22 situation. if you give prior notice, it will create mass panic and god knows what people will do. We have too much stupid people and amount is also huge as already seen in the few videos that are circulating around. Unless people can act smartly, no solution can yield better response.
At this moment, this situation is out of control. You can't even disintegrate the crows because you will lose track of them. You can't keep them together because it will be a time bomb waiting for explode. The govt has a big task in hand.

Lockdowns is done without notice so nobody travels, and leaving workers to die on border is low for a great CM like Kejriwal, see how Uddav is doing in Manharastra or Kerala government who are making sure everybody gets food.
They were just delaying lockdowns for weeks, experts and opposition parties including left, Mamta and Kejriwal were asking for lockdown and stop every mode of transportation.
Mamta and Kejriwal both were asking for to stop train, Plane and bus around week before lockdown
Every state were told beforehand, it was public who was notified later.
Remember Arvind Kejriwal leaked on Sunday or saturday that no plains will be allowed from 25 march to enter delhi , that was same time for lockdown.
Every state knew about lockdowns.
In goa CM proposed curfew on Tuesday evening before lockdowns announcement was made to stop panic buying .

Really sad to see how Arvind Kejriwal left workers on borders, he is better than that. He has been good CM, don't know what happened should have followed Kerala example.
Saw lots of migrants walking towards the UP border, not seen any images of government buses picking up and dropping off the people.
Would like to see some evidence that this is happening on a grand scale.
Kejriwal has also stated food & shelter is available for all daily workers.
Doesn’t help though when the UP government is telling the same migrants that we can arrange buses to carry you from the border.

People gathering in such a large crowd is not ideal. It's not good. It's indeed bad. However considering India's situation right now, it is in no way doomsday, catastrophic and end time bad as most people seem to be making it out to be.
No two countries in the world have the same strategy to fight corona. Subcontinent should have developed its own. Hence why I always cautioned against a countrywide lockdown at the initial phase as a desperate attempt to just blindly follow some European countries.

Most european countries were too late to react. They also have enough capacity to work with a flat curve
I propose a strategic lockdown with targeted isolation of hotspots, heavy contact tracing and testing through out the rest of the country. Flattening the curve isn't an option for Pakistan. Total elimination is.

CAN NOT DISCHARGE WITHOUT EVIDENCE OF NEGATIVE TEST, IDEALLY TWO CONSECUTIVE NEGATIVE TESTS.
Two negative tests, 24-48 hours apart. This is Criteria for discharge from hispital (may vary SLIGHTLY for different countries/states).
If there were symptoms, then we wait for fever to settle. If there is no fever for 3 days ( some use 5 days), we request a test. If its negative, we request another test after 24-48 hours. If that's also negative, patient can be sent home with advice to not socialise for further 14 days.
In case of asymptomatic persons, test can be requested 10-12 days after their first positive test.

This is the case for people who were hospitalized.
I was talking in the context of that Indian actress and assuming that her condition wasn't bad enough to be hospitalized and she is self-isolating at home.
That same guideline is followed in India too. Since she was tested positive, she must be hospital isolation ward not in home quarantine. Now in order to discharge her there needs to be 2 negative results.

A 29-year-old woman who was asked to stay quarantined at home violated the instructions and took two trains from New Delhi to reach Tehatta, about 170 kilometres north of Kolkata. She has tested positive for Covid-19, along with her six-year-old son and nine-month-old daughter, a 45-year-old relative and her 11-year-old son. The family allegedly socialised and went to the local market too.
What has complicated matters is that the people who came in contact with the family are refusing to admit it. The district administration has appealed to the locals to voluntarily disclose whether they came in contact with the family without which the disease could spread in Bengal.
“Not many people are admitting that they came in touch with the family. This could aggravate matters,” said a senior district official.
The 29-year-old woman is a resident of Uttarakhand and her 45-year-old relative is a resident of Delhi.
According to a senior health official of Nadia district in West Bengal, the woman had on March 16 met her cousin in New Delhi who had returned from UK, following which she was advised by the Delhi administration to stay in home quarantine. However, she took the Delhi-Sealdah Rajdhani Express on March 19, reached Kolkata on March 20 and took a passenger train to reach Tehatta in Nadia district.
Her children were with her. She was accompanied by another relative. These five people travelled together and all of them have tested positive for Covid-19 on March 27.
Her male cousin, who had returned from UK, was admitted at a hospital in New Delhi from March 19 with symptoms of the novel coronavirus and tested positive on March 20.
They travelled from Sealdah to Tehatta in a passenger train in an unreserved compartment. After de-boarding from the train, they took an auto-rickshaw. Over the next two-three days, they also socialised and went to the local markets.
“They have come in contact with so many people that it is extremely difficult to track all of them,” said Asit Kumar Dian, chief medical officer of health, Nadia district.
The five people were at their relative’s place in Tehatta between March 20 and 24, until being hospitalised after reporting symptoms.
“We are appealing to people to voluntarily tell us if they have come in contact with any of these five,” Dian said.
A number of their relatives living at Tehatta have been isolated and their blood samples have been sent for tests. The results are awaited.
A senior health department staff said many of their neighbours at Tehatta took the nine-month-old baby in their lap.

Over 10% with Serious Respiratory Illness Test Positive for Covid-19, Most Had No Overseas Travel History
Of 110 such patients tested, 12 were found positive for coronavirus, but ICMR says the cases are not widespread to conclude community transmission.
“We have begun testing SARI patients recently. There are some sporadic instances, where people are not giving history of exposure. But, these numbers are not significant enough to conclude that it is widespread,” Dr.Gangakhedkar had said in the press briefing when he was asked about how many such cases tested positive.
The scientist though added, “People will disclose based on their memory or whether they want to share proactively or want to hide. You must have seen in media reports that in some cases people have not even revealed they tested positive and some did not disclose they had an international travel history. So, till the time it is not seen significantly, we should not over interpret it.”
Dr. T Jacob John, former head of ICMR's Centre for Advanced Research in Virology, said that positive cases among SARI patients was not good news. “The infection has slipped out of public health control measures. So far we were trying to stop the transmission line, interrupt it. That was the extent so far. Of 110 such patients tested, 12 were found positive for coronavirus, but ICMR says the cases are not widespread to conclude community transmission.
“We have begun testing SARI patients recently. There are some sporadic instances, where people are not giving history of exposure. Why are Delhi govt buses ferrying people to UP border? All public transport should be off roads.
This has been going on for 3 days. Now that he fears a backlash, he is trying to cover up.
Almost every state has made arrangements for migrants.

Because state govt isnt dumping them on borders and asking them to leave. Some are leaving. Not scenes like these.
Yesterday 5 of a family in bengal tested Positive in Bengal. Guess what, they were caught in delhi and put in quarantine. They jumped the quarantine and nobody informed bengal admin.

AFAIK Delhi govt doesn't have enough intercity buses to transport labourers to Bihar. All it can do is to make arrangements for them in Delhi, which they have done but because of panic and uncertainty these labourers just want to go home.
Central govt should have stepped in and should have arranged trains. Send them home in batches, keep a record of everyone's permanent address and phone number and if in future someone if found to be positive, quarantine the whole coach.

This is the case I was talking about and there are other cases too ,reason why lockdowns was down to stop this type of travelling and this is not the single case.
Don't listen to opposition parties supporters and ndtv, this was the same opposition parties wanted nearly week before lockdowns, it was week already late, remember Mamta asked every mean of transport to shut down to West Bengal

He should have managed instead of dropping them on border, there is reason why lockdown was done, now if one of the worker is virus positive then he will end up infecting whole village.
You should also read how many people got infected in train and train was stopped.
Kejriwal is great CM but he failed in migrant worker situation.

A nationwide lockdown in India - the world's largest - over the coronavirus pandemic is wreaking havoc on thousands of migrant workers in the capital, New Delhi.
With few transport options available, thousands of people, mostly young male day labourers but also families, have resorted to commuting on foot during the 21-day lockdown that started on Wednesday.

India's finance ministry announced a 1.7 trillion rupees ($22bn) economic stimulus package that will include delivering grains and lentil rations for three months to 800 million people, about 60 percent of the world's second-most populous country.

But thousands of India's most vulnerable, who fear dying not of the disease caused by the new virus but rather of starvation, have decided not to wait.
Ram Bhajan Nisar, a painter, his wife and two children - aged five and six - were part of a group of 15 who set off by foot from New Delhi to Gorakhpur, a village in Uttar Pradesh state on the border with Nepal some 650km (400 miles) away.
"How can we eat if we don't earn?" Nisar asked, adding that his family had enough to make it four or five days without work, but not the full three weeks of the stay-at-home order.
Nisar said on Saturday that a bus had taken his family overnight from the border overpass area to the Uttar Pradesh district of Shahjahanpur.
From there, they walked and hitchhiked on a farm tractor trolley, their hunger temporarily abated by a meal in a Sikh temple and handouts from good samaritans on the road as they inched closer to home. They planned to wait at a bus stop for government transport to take them the rest of the way.
If no bus stopped, Nisar said, the group would continue walking or hitchhiking until they reached their villages.
"Many migrant workers feel they have no choice but to walk home. They are walking along highways, along train tracks with no access to food, no access to basic sanitation," said Al Jazeera's Elizabeth Puranam, reporting from New Delhi.

What I think happened : UP/Bihar Labourers started leaving Delhi -> they were stopped at border -> suddenly there was an ocean of labourers stranded -> (in background) Kerji and yogi had a meeting, Kejri said "Yogi Ji ye majdoor logo ka kya kare, ye to Delhi me nhi ruk rahe" to which Yogi said "hum baso ka praband krte hai ap unko Aand Vihar bhejo", Kejri "aur Modiji?", Yogi "Modiji se hum bat krlenge" -> Somehow "Yogiji is arranging busses for us" got leaked on whatsapp and more and more people started coming -> Kejri arranged buses from different parts of Delhi to Anand Vihar -> Yogi tweeted that he has arranged 1000 busses for labourers -> now labourers are waiting for busses.

I don't want to play blame game. But as per reports Yogi did a meeting with his transport dept. on night of 27th and asked them to arrange 1000 busses and as far as I know (I may be wrong here) DTC buses started dumping labourers from 28th morning.

These are the time when people should realise why is it bad to not over populate your nation. Any govt can only do so much in a democracy.
Except few migrants who are crossing over rest majority have been kept under lock down. If a 3 day window was given to cross over. There would have been massive transmission as not just daily workers every other jaahil would have used the opportunity to travel thinking just in case causing huge exodus of people. This would have been a disaster like what happened in Italy when people fled Lombardy as news of lock down came in there by infecting thousands

Yeah really surprised so many people here have not even studied the Italy or Spain case, everybody would have started travelling if they were given time.
Whole Kashmir is literally screwed because one person travelled from Delhi to Srinagar , he may have started the community transmission.
Another preacher travelled in Punjab villagesand so many people become infected.

1. The lockdown had to be announced suddenly for understandable reasons. If Modi gave a deadline, our people would have ran helter-skelter to screw things up. But the question is - were there PLANS made for these things? Daily labourer situation is NOT an unforseen issue. Every one of us in this thread were worried about them the moment lockdown was issued.
2. Were the state heads taken into confidence (in private) before lockdown? Because they are the ones who have to execute the plans. Credit can't go to plan announcer and blame to plan implementers cos the latter is WAYYY harder than former.
3. If state heads cannot be taken into confidence (assuming leaks or whatever reason), did the govt have a delivery plan in place before announcing this?

State heads knew for sure, remember it was Kejriwal who accidentally in his speech on Sat or Sunday just before lockdown leaked that no flights will be going in OR out of Delhi from 25, Kejriwal don't have power to stop flights from Delhi airport.
Goa CM on 24 suddenly announced curfew for 1 day after 12 noon when there was no cases in Goa at that time and ordered all shop to be closed, I am struck in Goa right now, I knew something was coming at that night.
I think Kejriwal just panicked and nothing more but the issue is so serious that it may cost life.
I like Kejriwal and don't like Mamta but Mamta stopped migrating worker with high hand, she is giving them food and a place to stay but not allowing them to travel, Kerala, Gujrat and Maharashtra are also doing same.
Maharashtra has been more lenient but not like Delhi.
I am terrified that even if one worker is infected it will screw UP and Vihar villages big time without and proper health care facilities.
