Did anyone buy stuff from this website?

I wrote a detailed email to the owner about choosing between a CA15000 and an SS Gladiator. I got a 2 line response :

'when can i expect to see your order?

Go with the CA out of those 2'

I was a bit confused since no explanation was given as to why CA was better. So before ordering, I wrote him another email :

'Ok!

Can you tell me more about why the CA is better?

Reza'

And this is the reply that I got :

'because i don't have any SS gladiators in stock..'

Personally, I was shoked to see such customer service. As a cusotmer investing 400 bucks you expect better advice. I was about to choose a bat to meet the stock situation of the store rather than to meet my own needs...

Did anyone already order from them?

2 seasons ago, I ordered a Kookaburra blade 950 from this site. It was the top of the line of the blade range that cost me 500 plus to buy.
I requested to show a picture of the blade he would ship. I did get a picture but when i got the blade, it was a different bat. And worse? the bat was a total dud. There was no ping to it, had something like 5 grains when the one showed in the picture had exactly 10 grains, which is what i was looking for.
I specifically asked him before paying if i would get the bat shown in the picture or another stick and he assured me it is the exact same willow that he is showing in the picture.

anyhow, it wouldnt have been a big deal if the bat wasnt an absolute dud which it was. i knocked and knocked, played a dozen times in the net sessions and it wouldnt ping for ****. I sold it off and picked something else. it was the worst 500 bucks ive ever spent on a cricket equipment.

Having said that he is better with other commodities. But bats! never buy bats from him.

Well am glad I did post my concern then. So far it's the worst customer service I have seen online. I usually am a bit particular on email writing 'etiquette'. When I start a mail saying 'hi' and ending it with 'thanks', I dont expect the dealer to start his email by 'when are you ordering'.

I can understand shop owners might get thousands of email's a day but theres still some politeness one should stick too no matter the form of communication (phone, text,email...).

With this email i felt like the owner was telling me 'I dont care what you want, just tell me when you are ordering', which is the worst feeling a customer can have while buying...

lol.. he did seem like a nice guy back in the day probably because he was just starting off. As for your bats, I strongly suggest you dont buy a bat till you get to hold one and confirm whether you like the feel of it. No matter how good a deal is online, its just not worth it. All the bats i've purchased in my life, ive held it first before buying it and hence loved it. The only time i bought a bat online, Ive had a horrible experience. Use my experience as a lesson for yourself. lol.

Having said that, most other gears can be purchased online as the quality dont vary much. so for example, you like the ss gladiator range gloves, you are pretty much guaranteed to get what you expect when you buy it online. Beware though, if you havent tried on a pair of gloves before and order it online, you may still get screwed. For example, I almost bought a pair of kookaburra gloves but didnt. Then the other day i saw it at the store, and tried it on and found it was too big. Then went on to buy the ss gloves i like and they were perfect just like the ones i had before. same with shoes, helmets pads etc.
Bottomline, as long as you are purchasing something online that you've tried on beforehand, you're good to go. Only exception are bats because even the same bat from the same range will vary.

Wow you seem to have a pretty good collection of gear - how many bats do you own?

If you want CA 15000, get it directly from the CA Pakistan. For SS Gladiator, you can approach any local recognized dealers in India. You will get the original and cheaper as compared to US & UK sellers.

i remember that bought a cg authority from him and it was a fake but could have beeen a mistake.......

P.s. he explained the fake spartan bats on there

There is a lingering problem with almost all desi bats, and that is, a relatively poor handle quality.

The issue with high end CA bats is that they hardly press the cleft in order to keep thick edges in lighter weights. The result? Bat willow is super soft and is prone to get a damage on day one when you take it to nets.
If you are going with CA then you MUST IGNORE the "Ready to play" sticker and thoroughly knock it in for at least 60 hours. Or else, it will prolly split in the first few balls faced.
I acquired a CA 10000 Limited Edition bat from Imran Nazir. He had an edge dent picked due to not having enough knocking. It's 2.8, an absolute monster with 40 mm edge size. Grains structure, willow quality and the ping is absolutely phenomenal. This kind of willow is generally not available to public. I will post the pics if you like. Due to work n family comittment I haven't played since I acquird it, it just sits in my collection. But this bat is quite dear to me. It's almost impossible to get a personal bat from an int'l batsman.

Also, try not to use old and hard like a rock desi balls on your new high end bat in the beginning, specially during net sessions.

For SS bats, I am personally not a fan due to their boxy shape and weird pick up. I dunno, they feel too stiff. I did have an SS TON Limited Edition though, it was indeed a very, very good bat, but ....the handle broke. Never went back to SS again even though one of the SS platinum I picked had an awesome feel.

It's another story if you want to spend $500 odd dollars and stick with a desi bat, otherwise if I was you I would have had a custom made bat (sweet spot location and desired weight) crafted for me in England by legendary bat makers like Gary Day of Redback Cricket in Devon ("Allegiance" is one of the best bats I have ever used) using genuine players grade home grown lush English willow. I also met Sangakarra at Gary's place when Sanga dropped by to pick an entire shipment of his bats made by Gary.

Warsop can also make a banger of a platinum or venom for you. There is never a dud in Warsop bats.

Tim Keely can also chisel you a bat but Newbery blades feel a couple of milimeter less than 4.25 inches in width, and same is the case with James at Laver and Wood ... and I HATE IT.

Laver Reserve, Newbery Krakatoa SPS and Players edition and GM Luna LE. The blade i sold for 100 bucks to one of my team mates who apparently broke it in half in a couple months the last i heard. To be honest, I wouldnt be surprised if Jason sold me a knock off although he is not known for it. Probably one of his guys changed the stickers up and made some extra cash or some deep scandal like that. lol
