Rabat – The Portuguese football star, Cristiano Ronaldo, who has long been concerned with the situation of the Palestinian people, has donated $1.5 million to help prepare Iftar for Palestinian fasters.

According to ONWADAN’S CHARITY FOUNDATION, the Portuguese star has chosen to give the money to help feed those in Gaza who are suffering under an Israeli air, sea, and land blockade.

Ronaldo is known for being generous with the neediest people, especially victims of political wars in Syria and Palestine.

In November 2012, Ronaldo sold his Golden Boot at an auction to raise funds which he later donated to Palestinian children.

In March 2013, at the end of the game between Portugal and Israel in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, Ronaldo refused to exchange shirts with an Israeli player. He later explained that he could not wear a shirt bearing the Israeli flag.

I highly doubt this is legitimate unless other sources reported this.

As for the donation, good on him and a good deed to do.

Its true, Portugal were playing Israel Nobody knows what Ronaldo said or didn't say after the final whistle but it's on video he never gave up his shirt to any of the Israeli players. You will find nonsense on the web by Israelis claiming it's all fake, Ronaldo hasn't even donated or doesn't support Palestine but photos and videos dont lie.

Ronaldo is a good Catholic man. He can see past all the smokescreens and the good historical relations between Muslim's and Catholics.

Fake news man

Why do people fall for this stuff

He has donated many times to Palestine and many mainstream media news outlest are reporting this. might not be true but please show some confirmation of this.

Only two websites are reporting this

Your source and aboutislam.net

No authentic sources have referred to this at all

RT, Press TV, Morocco news, IB Times and many others are. I thought you had a source to prove it's fake, clearly just upset for no reason and guessing. Never mind.

Ronaldo has donated money for children on the Gaza Strip before. Do your research people, unfortunately some just have to say "fake news" instantly because they personally can't believe it. Real fans would know that Ronaldo sold his golden boot in 2012 and donated about 1.5 million for building schools in Palestine. He also took a photo with a Palestinian (I believe it was a refugee) kid in 2016 at a training session. This is nothing new.

I don’t see RT or PressTV publishing this. Other two are not news outlets to begin with.

Why would I be upset lol

Martin Schneck of lead stories is hardly reliable, the hint is in his name.

True or not, Ronaldo has been an amabassdoor for Palestinians rights and Im sure will continue to do so.

Good gesture if true (I haven't looked into it, but people seem skeptical). Hope more aid goes Palestine's way, they need food all year round, not just for Ramadan.

I don’t buy the donation stuff too much but he didn’t shake hands with the Israelis either

That was massively covered

Argentina also refused to go Israel and I believe Messi was one of the main decision makers on that

True. It's fair to point this out as there are Zionist who are showing photos of Messi with Israelis claiming he supports them. Argentina refused to play a friendly with Israel and Messi was instrumental in this decision.

Sadly this is not enough, there should be a total boycott of Israel in sports as their was against South Africa.

I think not shaking hands with Israeli players is wrong, they are not their government, and should be treated as individuals.

I'm pretty sure Argentina didn't go to Israel because of threats from a fringe group (unsure if it was Palestinian based, or otherwise). However, I think not going to Israel is a good decision.

Each player has been part of occupation at check points, borders or on occupied land.

The fact that Western mainstream news is not reporting this (given who controls the media) proves the establishment do not want us reading any news in support of the Palestinians as it opposes the narrative we are fed via MSM in the West.

Here is shaking hands in a Portugal vs Israel game.

The player he walked past without swapping shirts was a Portuguese player if you look at his shorts.

Fake news. When something fits your agenda people don't bother authenticating the source.

Just because he is walking around with his shirt on after the game does not mean he refused to swap his shirt with an Israeli player. If he felt that strongly about it he would have chosen to boycott the match itself. Besides, FIFA has pretty stringent rules about making political statements.

If he was such a staunch supporter of Palestine I'm sure there would be something on his OFFICIAL social media somewhere about Palestine and you wouldn't have to rely on random, dubious websites. I'm sure it's likely that he is concerned about Palestinian human rights like any other conscious person but he is not some Palestine/anti-Zionist activist as the OP is making him out to be.

Good on Ronaldo and others (Messi?) for donating money to the Palestinians.

However to suggest that they don’t want to be associated with Israelis is nonsense. Ronaldo did shake hands with Israeli players as the video above shows and they’ve both happily met Israeli politicians in the past too.
