Wanted to start this thread for cricketing events that have not happened yet but could happen in the near future.

Lets stick to things that have some semblance of actually happening.

Here is one from me:

Pakistan will get to their first 400+ ODI score whilst chasing

Never Pakistani bowlers will never concede 400 runs in an odi

Never Pakistani bowlers will never concede 400 runs in an odi

You never know...

In the last ODI we played - we conceded 368 vs Sri Lanka (a team supposedly on the decline)

Exactly - there have been no indications our bowling lineup is about to change until the tainted trio return..

Pakistan will clean sweep England in all three formats

Azhar Ali will become the third Pakistani to score a 150 in ODIs.

Mohammad Asif will take a 5-fer in his first Test after returning from the ban.

Hashim Amla will choke in the 2017 Champions Trophy and the 2019 World Cup. Even his most ardent supporters will admit that he is the biggest bottler in the modern era.

England will give Pakistan a very tough time in the UAE Test series - all three results possible.

Haris Sohail will score a hundred in either his first or second Test.

Younis Khan will have a very sour ending to his Test career - he will have a string of poor performances but will refuse to leave - the selectors will force him out and he will badmouth and criticize them in the media - he will eventually join MoYo and Akhtar on Geo and continue to spit venom.

Kamran has played his last match for Pakistan.

Salman Butt will return to international cricket, but he will not do well and will be dropped again.

Mohammad Amir will suffer a long-term injury on his return to international cricket.

Azhar Ali will score a hundred in Australia and England each next year, Shafiq will score in Australia only. Younis, Misbah and Sarfraz will not do well.

Sarfraz will drop a crucial catch in England of Joe Root early in his innings who will go on to score a match-winning hundred. This will change the course of the series and after making a promising start, we will flounder and England will eventually win the series in comprehension fashion.

Starc would be Man of the Series vs. us in the Test series.

Kohli will score his first double hundred in Tests in the upcoming home season; Rohit Sharma will be the biggest success story.

Last but not the least:

2019 World Cup Final - England vs. Pakistan

2019 World Cup Final - England vs. Pakistan

Really now?

Really now?

England will continue the tradition of India and Australia, i.e. the home team taking full advantage whilst I expect us to have a great tournament after doing very poorly overall since the 1999 World Cup (England).

and I should add that England and Australia are my picks for the 2017 Champions Trophy. England made it to the final in the 2013 when it was held in England as well.

Expect them to do well in the next two tournaments in England.

Ohhh!
Very tall claims.
If these things happen u will become a superstar on this forum.
(I agree with some of the above mentioned points,I generally most of your posts).

I would like to get your opinion on the upcoming India vs Pakistan t20 world cup match (2016) , as to who do you think will set the balls rolling this time.

Hmm I kinda agree on the idea of home teams doing well. But which team is Kohli and Rohit going to perform well against?

YK & Misbah will fail in overseas England trip. Azhar will do well. Shehzad will score one ton. Haris to average over 50. Anwar Ali will fail as a bowler. Will have the odd good innings. Will stick in the team like an annoying smell.

Umar Akmal will make a fruitful return.

Bangladesh will get to the finals of the 2017 Champions Trophy but will lose.

I'm already a superstar :afridi, joking.

India will beat us in the World T20 again and probably go onto win the tournament. We will make the semifinals though.

India vs. Australia final in my opinion (or perhaps semifinal), with Indian going all the way.

In the World Cup or Tests? They will do well in the upcoming home season. They have matches vs. South Africa and I think West Indies as well.

Azhar Ali will average close to 50 in ODI cricket.

Haris to have test average of 50+ and ODI average of 40+.

Sami Aslam to be a very consistent batsman.

I've said this around 2 years ago, but should say it for this thread. Time will come where PAKISTAN will have too many cricketers to choose from. Too many world class talents, and some will miss out like AUS of 90's. This time is now.

This is the best era to ever live in as a Pakistan fan.

Haris sohail will become among pakistans top 4 test batsmen. He will score a hundred in his first few games and have an average above 45 initially but later above 50. Pakistan will win the champions trophy and either azhar/haris/sarfraz will be man of the tournament. Asif and butt wont make comebacks but amir will and unfortunately he wontbe as successful. Umar will actually justify his talent eventually and sohaib and rizwan will become successful too. Malik will play till 2019 world cup and will have be an amazing number 5

You do know that Anwar Ali(terrible bowler)

Yasir Shah(terrible ODI bowler) bowled for us this game?

Rahat is not an ODI bowler either.

Also:

1) YK will retire with a test average higher than that of anyone else in the modern era (~55/56) - only behind Sanga

2) Shehzad, in about 5 years time, will surpass Saeed Anwar in terms of ODI centuries.

3) Haris Sohail will outperform everyone (Azhar, Shehzad, Sarfraz, Babar, Rizwan) in all 3 forms of the game for the next few years.

4) In a few years time: Haris, Babar, Sarfraz and Azhar Ali will all be averaging 50+ in test cricket (Shehzad will just be behind at around 45-50)

5) Asad Shafiq will average around the mid-40's in Tests but will be our "go to" man and our most clutch player

[emoji106]
Let's see what happens?
I will have this in my mind while watching the India vs pak's t20 [emoji102] .

Nothing is permanent, lets see when will this trend end( India dominating Pakistan in world cups).

1. Big unannounced probe into match fixing will reveal how many countries have been in denial.
2. Cook will be replaced as captain with Root.
3. South Africa will be in final of next world cup.
4. Australia will fall behind SA, England, India, Pakistan in world rankings in all formats.
5. Wasim Akram will become coach of Pakistan.
6. Andrew Strauss will be replaced by Nasser Hussain.
7. A new 100 mile per hour bowler who reverses it like waqar and wasim will emerge from one of the Asian countries.
8. Sangkarra becomes head of ICC.
9. Azhar Ali will resign as captain but resignation will not be accepted.
10. Amir will become the best Pakistan bowler in history with strike rate.
11. Syeed Ajmal will become the oldest player to play international cricket in 2020.
12. Shahryar Khan will be replaced with Ehsan Mani.
13. Finally 50 Over cricket will become extinct by 2022.
14. One Day two innings test matches will become the norm.
15. Cars will fly.
16. Alien contact will be made in 2030.
17. A new bat which automatically reacts to the ball will be banned by the ICC.
18. The first ever one day international will happen on Mars on 2122, Earth v Mars.
19. Einsteins theory will be found out to be false and limited.
20. Black holes will become know to be interconnected.

ooopppss I think I might have gone OTT :)

In the World Cup or Tests? They will do well in the upcoming home season. They have matches vs. South Africa and I think West Indies as well.

Both WC and Tests, I was assuming you said that Kohli and Rohit will do well against Pak is the series was to go ahead.

Umer Akmal and Umar Amin will never play a test match again...

- Pakistan will beat England in the upcoming test and ODI series. Will lose the T20.
- Malik will start struggling in international cricket once again, his supporters will start wrist-slitting.
- Yasir Shah won't be as effective as people think against England. The second spinner and our pacers will exceed expectations.
- South Africa will beat India in India, in all formats of the game.
- Dale Steyn will struggle in India.
- One of Amla or de Villiers will be unstoppable in India, while the other will have a modest tour.
- Australia will lose a couple of matches against Bangladesh.
- Saeed Ajmal will make a successful comeback to international cricket.
- Moeen Ali will one day captain England.
- Amir will be one of the best fast bowlers in the world, a couple of years from now.
- Ajinkya Rahane will be one of the best batsmen in the world, a couple of years from now.

The biggest one: T20 cricket will die off because of a surge in popularity of ten overs a side cricket (T10).

This thread should be stickied. :mhk

Everything will die off due to a surge in popularity of T0.01 - each side plays 1 ball and calls it a day.

Experts say so because it will suit the "fast paced" lifestyle of the population

Aus will beat NZ 2-1 or 3-0 in Aus, with the NZ leg finishing 1-0 either way.
India will beat SA 3-1 or 2-1 in India.
Pakistan to whitewash England 3-0.
KW will finish his career with an average under 50.
Warner will finish his career with an average in the low 40's.
Shehzad will finish his career with an average of under 35.
Boult will never be ranked number 1 bowler in the Test bowler rankings.
Amir will become the worlds premium fast bowler within 2 years.

Mamoon

Neither of them have played their last Test, but Maqsood will never play Test cricket barring unforeseeable circumstances.

Never Pakistani bowlers will never concede 400 runs in an odi
Chances of 400 being scored have decreased significantly with the recent rule changes. No top side should be conceding it barring a rare horror show with multiple extras and free deliveries being given.

Umer Akmal and Umar Amin are well below the totem pole atm.

Hafeez, Haris Sohail, Babar Azam, Fawad Alam (who is now considered a test specialist by our management) and even Rizwan would be considered for Test call-up before the two Umar's.

Umar Amin is not playing any format right now and Umer AKmal only plays t20 so they have a long, long way to go. I think it is highly unlikely.

Agreeing with you, the same would go for Maqsood (very unlikely he would get a test call-up)

Shoaib Malik will become the first Test batsman to score 3000 runs in a calendar year.

No, Pre-WC ceremony where all the team captains come together for a photo op with the WC :uakmal. No, but seriously as much as I dislike Afridi, it'll be great to see him win the WC in India.

It would be amazing but I don't have any faith in him as captain. I think the Sri Lankan series papered over a lot cracks.

Each time he has led the T20 team our performances on the whole have been lacklustre.

Even though afridi isn't anything special as a captain I don't think it will matter because honestly I just think there will be some controversial reason which stops pak from winning in India. Not really afridis incompetence

Completely agree, but there's no way he's not going to lead PAK in the WC. We just have to hope that he pulls off a miracle.

Haris Sohail will score his first century in an important match in the 2017 CT and despite taking 4 years to score a century, he will go on to score many centuries for Pakistan in Test and ODI cricket. Will also score his first Test ton in the West Indies tour.

Misbah and Younus will have fairytale retirements despite it being rare for Pakistani cricketers.

Stokes will have a terrible time in the UAE.

Not a wish, a prediction.

Australia, despite all the speculation, will whitewash Bangladesh comfortably and Smith will knock up another double century.

India will beat South Africa in the ODI series 4-1 and in the test series 2-1.

Pakistan will beat England 2-0 in tests.

...... ??

1st Test : Taylor will hit century, Yasir Shah will take max of 7 wickets, Malik will hit 50 plus 5 wickets :)

SA will win the ODI series 4-1 or 5-0. India not only look rusty but their bowlers wont be able to contain SA batsman like they usually do vs Eng/Aus in home ODI's. They'll need 350-380 scores to even stand a chance while defending.

SA will win the test series 3-0/2-0

Again, India doesn't have the bowling to take 20 SA wickets. They can draw at best if our batting holds up.

That's some harsh prediction for your team

Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk

It seems harsh because

a) The notion that India is unbeatable at home is largely due to the team we had in the past. Even the team with fab-5, Zak, Bhajji could only manage 2 drawn series in their last 2 attempts vs SA.

b) India is coming off a long lay-off. And to be honest split captaincy is something I don't see working in Indian environment. You need a professional setup for it. There's just too much clash of ideology. And you can see that reflecting in the pressers both captains give often contradicting each other's approach. This is bound to make dressing room atmosphere bad and a team that isn't playing as a unit doesn't stand a chance not against SA at least.

A) south African team has become a slight bit weaker in tests with the retirement of their finest players as well as dale steyn being a bit older this time around
B) I believe you guys will be fine in odis but split captaincy won't be your downfall nor will a long layoff be as south Africa too haven't played a full test match recently (Bangladesh match rained out). Your only downfall is your bowlers as ashwin can't be your only attacking bowler

1) Azhar Ali will be the first Pakistani since 2007 to score a 100 in a world cup against a top tier team.

2) Shoaib Malik will have the tournament of his life in the 2019 Champions Trophy with the bat (top 5 in most runs scored let's say)

3) England will take the test series against us in the UAE and we will take the ODI series.

4) Mohammad Rizwan will score his first 100 in the upcoming England series.

5) We will flop completely in the upcoming world t20, not getting to the semis, but we will have our best run in an icc tournament for the past 4 years in CT 19 (semis or further)

6) Shehzad will be dropped after the England series and will be forgotten for a long time.

7) Imad Wasim will fizzle out.

Both England and the West Indies to get absolutely slaughtered in the upcoming test series.

England have poor spin options and cannot bat vs quality spin. Throw in a reliance on part timers and I can definitely see an Australia-esque UAE tour for the English in the tests with Pakistan maybe struggling somewhat early on vs Broad and Co.

West Indies have had crap preparation and I expect they'll be bowled out for a sub 100 score at least once on the way to another thrashing.

Umar Akmal to have a decent FC season

Wahab or Rahat to run through the English Lineup during the tour of England

India to loose the first game in the ODI series, and then bounce-back because of some typical choking. :amla

Sarfraz Ahmed to punish England bowlers.

Malik to be exposed against England with the bat, but does very well with the ball.

England to get to the final of the 2019 WC, getting revenge on India in the Semi's.

Finn will outperform Broad and Anderson in the upcoming test series.

South Africa makes it to the final of the 2016 T20 WC with a flawless run, and then looses in the final.

West Indies will use their mercenaries and do great in the T20 WC.

Babar, Haris and Rizwan will have a great time in the upcoming ODI series.

Shehzad won't ever be dropped :shehzad

It's gonna happen. The selection committee has been pretty sensible since CT13. Only big blunder was giving into YK's blackmail after initially telling him he is not part of their LOI plans. But now they have cut him off too.

Shehzad is not offering much in LOIs atm, and it remains to be seen how he does vs Anderson and co in the ODI leg of the tour. His weakness around the off stump is well known, all Broad and Andy have to do is just attack it, and he will play away from his body and edge one to slip like he always does vs quality pacers.

The series will be make or break for him.

7) Imad Wasim will fizzle out.

In before Shehzad brigade arrives.

We say stuff like this every-time, but he always finds a way to break into the squad.

I hope he never gets into double figures! Just a waste of space! The longer he stays the more damage he causes!

Pakistan will evantually win a Test series in the WI.

Steve Smith will make 75 international tons.
