Test batsman of the decade: Gill
ODI batsman of the decade: Shaw
T20 batsman of the decade: KL Rahul

Test bowler of the decade: Rabada
ODI bowler of the decade: Archer
T20 bowler of the decade: Archer

Best all-rounder of the decade: Stokes

Best player of the decade: Gill

Gill will be the next legendary Indian batsman and the successor to Kohli. By the end of this decade, his name will be mentioned alongside Gavaskar, Tendulkar and Kohli.

He is going to be the most dominant batsman across formats and the number one in Test cricket.

Shaw will be the successor to Rohit. As a white ball opener, he will scale the heights of Tendulkar and Rohit. He will be very good in Tests as well, but might not average 50+ and score 30+ hundreds like Gill.

However, he might prove to be more impactful in white ball cricket than Gill.

Rabada will be the best Test bowler of the decade and surpass Steyn and Donald as South Africa’s greatest spearhead.

Archer will be a white ball giant and also a very good Test bowler. Across formats, he will be the best bowler in the world but purely in Test cricket, Rabada will probably edge him.

Stokes will continue to rise and remain the dominant all-rounder until 2025-2026. By the time he retires, he will be ranked alongside Sobers as the GOAT Test all-rounder.

Cameron Green will also be a great player and by the end of the decade, he will be the leading all-rounder in the world.

The greatest player of the decade will be Gill. He will be to 2020s what Kohli was to 2010s.

As far as Babar is concerned, he will establish himself as Pakistan’s greatest batsman and the first genuine ATG since Miandad. He will be among the best batsmen across formats for sure.

Other batsmen who will make a big impact:

Buttler will have a tremendous peak. By the time he retires in 2026-2027, he will be ranked alongside de Villiers as an all-format batsman. People will look back at the summer of 2020 as the turning point of his Test career.

Joe Root will finally overcome his slump and retire with an average of 50+ and most runs for England in Test cricket.

Pope will captain England and establish himself as a world class batsman.

Labuschagne will be the Australian captain and prove himself to be a Michael Clarke level Australian great. He will not reach the heights of Ponting, Smith and G. Chappell but he will be an Australian great.

Pucovski will be a great player as well. Could average over 50 in Test cricket.

De Kock will have a monstrous peak and prove to be a very good captain as well. He will seriously challenge Gilchrist’s status as the GOAT WK batsman.

Players who will fail to live up to the hype: pretty much every young Pakistani player with the exception of Babar, Shaheen and Haider Ali.

No one will remember these Naseem Shahs, Raufs, Hasnains, Shadabs etc. by the end of the decade.

I recon Ollie Pope will overtake Joe Root and become England’s premier batsman.

As for Shubman Gill, he won’t hit the ground running in Test cricket. You may see him kick start into full gear by 2024-25 and have 5 big daddy years until 2030.

Mamoon - That is some heavy praise for Shubhman Gill. Its good to see you rate him so highly because even I think he will be a great batsman. Good thing is we need not wait as he will get opportunity soon and may open in test matches in Australia with Rohit Sharma now ruled out. You think this series can be the start of Gill era?

I don’t think his game is suited to opening in Test cricket. He will be India’s long term number 4 and I think he will slowly phase Rahane out of the side and then get promoted to number 4 when Kohli retires.

Prediction for next Decade: Mamoon will continue to moan and make negative posts about pakistani cricket.

Best Test batsman - Shubman Gill
Best odi batsman - Babar Azam
Best t20 batsman- Kl Rahul

Best bowler in tests-Bumrah
Best bowler in odis- Bumrah
Best bowler in t20s-Bumrah

Player of the decade-Bumrah

Allrounder of the decade-Cameron Green.

Prediction for next Decade: Mamoon will continue to moan and make negative posts about pakistani cricket.

I feel sorry for the Indians, especially Shubman Gill who has been hyped to the moon by him.

Gill is a Punjabi lad (one of our own) and I want him to go far, but because of Mamoon’s panauti predictions, this can backfire.

Best Test batsman - Shubman Gill
Best odi batsman - Babar Azam
Best t20 batsman- Kl Rahul

Best bowler in tests-Bumrah
Best bowler in odis- Bumrah
Best bowler in t20s-Bumrah

Player of the decade-Bumrah

Allrounder of the decade-Cameron Green.
Bumrah has the capability to do this but what u predict is very unlikely te: his dominance. Why?

Because the BCCI will in some capacity end up over playing him over the years as their best fast bowler, and given how stiff his action is, that'll take a toll.

And let's not forget, the older he gets, the more will be the clamour for the next bright young thing to replace him in the Indian side. So Bumrah may even have a good half decade at most, but by then he'll be a 31 year old playing an intense heavy schedule. Given internal competition etc, u may seem him slightly tail off from there

The only way it can backfire is if Gill is as stupid as Umar Akmal, which he clearly is not, or if he has a serious personal or physical injury, which I hope doesn't happen to him. Although Mamoon is known to overpraise Indian cricketers, it's easy to see that Gill is going to be next big Indian batting star. He already has almost everything.

The same Mamoon wrote Gill is already better than all Asian batsman in 2018, yet there is still question marks in 2020/21 for Gill to nail down a spot in the Indian national side and getting a full run in the team. He will still need to do what he can do at his best for 5-6 years to overcome the current achievements Babar Azam who is all set to take 2021-30 as the leader of all batsman in international cricket.

Posting here after a long time. I can't pinpoint a player and mark him as the test bowler / batsmen etc of the decade and there will be new faces coming in as well, so it's too early to say.

However, other than some of the players listed above, amongst the youngsters I think South African Kyle Verryene will be one to watch out for. I'm sure he has a big future ahead of him. Mark my words on him.

Devdutt Padikkal from India, watch out for him. He will do good,

I rate Shaheen Afridi quite highly, he should do well.

Stokes will easily be the best all rounder around for quite some time.

I don't rate Prithvi Shaw, he will be a big failure.

Best test batter- Shubman Gill
Best ODI batter- Quinton De Kock
Best test bowler- KG Rabada
Best ODI bowler - Jofra Archer

Best all ROUNDER- Ben Stokes

Player of the decade it will be between Stokes,Rabada,Labuschange, and Gill.

No you will have to predict now. This is a real test of your abilities.

By 2025, it will be be very easy for anyone to tell you who's going to be player of the decade.

Too many unknown factors. Beginning of 2010, Umar Akmal was better than Kohli and Asif was probably the predicted bowler of the decade.

Though for now Babar, Gill, Pucovski, Shaheen, Rabada are some good safe bets.

T20s is difficult to predict as we don't know if teams will play their full strength side in T20s and which players will retire from T20s.

Babar will sweep many categories if he continues his current from another 5 years.

Abdullah Shafique will become one of Pakistan's greatest batsmen ever.

Saif Badar will be a key batsman in Pakistan's middle overs/death.

Usama Mir will play for England.

Stokes is 30, not sure why people are picking him. Probably don't have anyone to pick it seems.

T20 batesman of the decade: haider ali
Odis bateman of the decade:babar azam
Test Bateman of the decade:Marcus lambuchagne
T20 bowler of the decade:shaheen afridi
Odi bowler of the decade: Shaheen afridi
Test bowler of the decade cummings

Best player of the decade:shaheen
Best all rounder of the decade stoakes

His fitness is top notch he can easily play for another 5 years and more

5 years don't give you the award for all-rounder of the decade. I think he should be given the award for the all-rounder of the decade 2010-2019, particularly after the two performances he delivered in 2019. But it's too much expecting him to replicate again in 2020s and for a decade.

Other all-rounders will also come and make name for themselves in this new decade or else who knows, there might be a guy who has all-round hidden in him and will be visible all throughout this decade :ssa

That's true but I wouldnt put it past stokes to go close to the 10 years from now.i think your dreaming but then again dreams do come true :)

T20 batsmen: kl rahul
Odi batsmen: babar azam
Test batsmen: marnus labushagne or shubman gill.
T20 bowler: jofra archer
Odi bowler: shaheen
Test bowler: pat cummins or kagiso rabada
Player of the decade:babar ,shaheen or maybe gill.
All rounder: nobody to really think of. Stokes will probably retire by 2026 and his preformances will gradually decrease

My 3 predictions:

1. South Africa to finally win a world tournament.

2. Pakistan to break the streak through the law of averages.

3. India to start producing better bowlers while the batting factory fades.

I am surprised that no one is picking Shadab Khan for the Allrounder of the decade. He is just 22 and is already an established bowler in limited formats & has also played some useful knocks. In tests, he averages in 30s as a batsman.

Tough to predict, because a decade is a long time - there will be young batsmen who would start to deliver by the middle of the decade (second half) while some established players will fade away by the first half of the decade. I don't think any player U23 can reach there because he'll not have enough time while players over 29 might not have a full decade to dominate. In that regard, players like Smith, Williamson, Butler, Kohli are a bit unlucky as their peak years crossing in between two decades. I think, I'll stick to the players between the age of 23-29, because most of them will get full decade.

Test Batsman of the Decade: Marnus Labuschagne - he is 26 (& Australian 26), averaging 63+ and he'll play the full decade, that means another 130+ Tests: a career of 150+ Tests, 12,000+ runs at 55+ average, 35+ hundreds and lots, lots of Test wins under his belt. The way Test cricket is moving and direct W/L are happening, won't be surprised if Marnus ends up with highest amount of Test runs in a win.
ODI batsman of the Decade: This one is a bit tricky - Babar is at his prime and he'll play full decade, De Kock is almost 28, likely to stop keeping and play full decade as well and there is my surprise pick - I am surprised no one picked this kid, Nicklus Pooran and Root also is just 29 now and that's English 29 - won't be surprised if he plays till 2031 WC - he is massively under-rated as well. I'll go with De Kock as ODI batsman of the decade.
T20 Batsman of the Decade: Probably Babar, KL has a good chance as well and that WIN kid Hetmyer can be the next Gayle if he can sort his game, still only 23 now.

The problem with Babar is that PAK doesn't play enough Test, neither those Gala 4-5 Tests series where he can pile-up 5-600 runs dominating the series - individually as well, he is officially 26 and still doesn't have a Test 150, still averaging under 45 - no chance in Test cricket. In ODI as well, PAK plays too many soft ODIs and not likely to dominate the game in next decade - Babar can pile-up stats, but may not be the reputation of a feared batsman. In T20 Babar has the best chance because PAK/PCB puts highest importance on T20s, plays too many soft T20s and plays too many good players in soft games - he'll play against Nepal reserves as well. To me, only T20s that matters is ICC events and PAK has the best chance to do well in T20s among three formats, hence Babar has a very good chance to end up as the best t20 batsman of the decade.

Test Bowler of the Decade: KG Rabada - Cummins is the closest threat but not likely to play whole decade
ODI bowler of the decade: Jofra Archer - this one is a tight call, but I went for the younger one, who plays for the best ODI team and likely to dominate ODI cricket world for years to come.
T20 bowler of the decade: Rashid Khan. Among pacers Shaheen has a very high celling as well

For Test bowling, again Rabda & Archer has the best chance to play many games and play for full decade. I would put two other names here as well - Bumrah & Cummins, but not sure if Bumrah can last even half the decade while Cummins won't play full decade, I can bet on that, Aussies don't linger their career because they know if they try, they'll be dumped unceremoniously - hence Rabada stands out. For ODI, I have already explained why Archer. Spin is the king of T20s and this guy Rashid is damn good in T20s, his team is also better in T20 than other formats. Also, being spinner, even if I take about 10-12 years discount on his official age of 21, he is likely to play entire decade and he'll play every game for AFGs. I think, it'll be contested well between Rashid, Archer & Shaheen for the T20 bowling title. From PAK's perspective, Shaheen can be a very good all-round bowler, but he'll be handicapped by the quality of his partners and his team as well - probably will end-up as a better t20 player than Test & ODI, just like Babar.

Best player of the decade: Tough, tough call - I probably will go in between Rabada or Archer. Both will dominate the longer two formats of the game, and Rabada might be the Captain as well.

Best all-rounder: This one is the trickiest one - Stokes is 29, therefore almost certainly he'll play almost entire decade, but not sure if he'll remain as an all-rounder. May be a very good batsman who bowls a bit, but not as pure all-rounder - same is likely for Pandeya in LO cricket. Considering the team profile and age, probably Holder (5 months younger than Stokes) has better celling as all-rounder to last for the decade. Two young cricketers has very good future as all-rounder - Shadab in LO cricket - he'll play lots of T20s and ODI but might not that many Tests. At official 23, Miraz has 89 wickets & 577 runs in 20 Tests with 2 10fors and 7 5fors and he'll play many Tests at home - another 70+ Tests in decade for close to 2500 runs and 300 wickets makes a very good potential for the decade and he'll lead BD for good part of the decade as well.

Apart from this list, there are some stunning U23 players who can make their names in this decade

: Gill, Jaswal, Shaw, Pope, Janneman Malan (No one noticed this kid, but can be the best batsman of the decade!!!!), Pucovski, Wiaan Mulder, Hetmayer

My surprise team of the decade is SAF - I read lots of negatives about their demise in cricket, but some of the best young cricketers are being cooked there - Rabada, Malan, Mulder, Verryene, Sipamla, Ngidi, Markram, Hamza. The Kolpak route is going to be closed and I am sure we'll see a raise in SAF cricket in this decade.

I'm not saying he'll achieve more than Babar in the next decade. But he can. If he takes even 3 years to really get going in tests, that still gives him 7 years. Babar could see a decline in the last 3 years of this decade.

Abdullah Shafique? :(

Abdullah Shafique? :(

Let him play couple of years - why not? If PP were there in 2000 and I was posting on same ..... I probably would have said that PAK has got their answer to Rickey Ponting in Imran Nazir... lucky me that PP wasn’t there. When it comes to batting development, I’ll actually put more money in BD than Pakistan - Mickey Arthur has been replaced by Misbah & YK to develop PAK batting, hence you probably have noticed, I haven’t mention Haider either.

One of the West Indies and Sri Lanka will miss a fifty over World Cup.

Honestly, if a particularly bad run of events occurred, Pakistan could either, but the other two are the ones I'm confidently gonna predict. Potentially both of those assuming the qualfiications process is unchanged for 2027

So if Mickey arthur was thier would you have put abdullah in the list alongside haider :)

At least they had a chance - after the transformation of MoYo, YK under Woolmer, Babar under Mickey and Akmal, Shehzad in between, I guess you got a clue.
