CW's Batwoman TV show Trailer Hit by Comment Bombing, Downvoting on Youtube

The latest expansion of The CW's growing Arrowverse got the spotlight last week with the first full trailer released for Batwoman, premiering later this year. The show is set to premiere on the network this fall, and Kate Kane will likely play a major role in the upcoming crossover event "Crisis on Infinite Earths." And while top brass at The CW might be impressed so far, picking up the pilot for a full series order, a lot of people on YouTube are not very happy with the new series.

Commenters on YouTube are downvoting the first trailer en masse, angry that the show seems to be insulting straight white males. At press time, the trailer has 3.8 million views, over 64,000 Likes to 241,000 Dislikes, and over 66,000 comments. Many of the comments mention similar gripes, whether it's the line where actress Ruby Rose says she doesn't want Batman to get the credit for her work, to the part where she alters his costume to make it "perfect."

Honestly they deserve all the hate they are getting. Not only is the trailer really bad, but they are disrespecting Batman. They did the same thing with Superman in Supergirl, where he was made to be a pathetic punching bag so Supergirl could shine. This is not how you treat the two greatest superheros of all time. Without Superman and Batman there would be no Supergirl and Batwoman. This is really pathetic from Warner Bross and CW.
 
The feminism disease has gone too far. This is truly cringe-worthy stuff and good to see that its fooling no one.
 
That and the need for LGBTQ acceptance.. this batwoman is gay if I understand correctly
 
I can't believe I used to watch these CW shows a few years ago. I tried rewatchng Flash and it was terrible.

This trailer is pretty pathetic.

'I won't let a woman take credit for a man's work' she says after stealing Batman's suit, taking over his cave, using his gadgets and using all his resources.

I'm all for well-developed female characters like Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Brie Larson's Captain Marvel or Scarlett Johanssons Black Widow. They are all brilliant characters in their own right and stand alone as inspiring superheroes.

Batwoman from the comics is a loner who got inspired by Batman. She used her own resources, built her own batsuit and did not need any help.
 
Btw if you guys haven't checked them out, Titans and Doom Patrol are pretty awesome DC shows. Doom Patrol is probably the best superhero show of the last 3 years. It's simply amazing. But it's rated R.
 
Just need a transgender Flashwoman and they can make a full LGBTQ Justice League.
 
Any superhero crap is usually awful, so not surprising, looks like the flash, Gotham, arrow, all those cliche B grade shows

I am fine with it because I’m not an incel or intimidated by strong women.

They don't have a choice either. Warner Brothers doesn't allow anyone to use Batman or Superman as main characters on TV. So the best they get is these characters and then they have to make you believe that they are strong.

The producer G. Berlanti is gay so he will promote it anywhere he can.

Doom Patrol can't hold a candle to Marvel's Daredevil.

That show is rated at 99% on Rotten Tomatoes.
 
I dont care about how I am judged for this but I would hate for my daughter to watch this movie when she grows up and hears about this or the potential series that will develop as a result.
 
The funniest thing is people actually watch trash shows like this, arrow, flash etc

I watched the first season of Daredevil then gave up on all shows of this type. I have no idea if the rest of them you mention are trash or not, just figured out they would have got more attention from serious tv fans if there was anything worth watching. They seem aimed more at a younger audience, maybe 12-16 yr olds from what I've seen.

A lot of adults watch these shows. I couldn’t watch more than a few daredevil episodes myself and that’s considered one of the better ones

I probably should have worded it better. I meant best superhero show to debut in the last 3 years.

Doom Patrols first season is better than Daredevil Season 1. I say this as a huge Daredevil and Marvel Fan. Doom Patrol had to juggle so many characters and they did that really well.

Daredevil Season 3 is the best season of a comic-book show ever though.

Superhero shows and movies are generally formulaic and repititive so I avoid them. Create original female superheroes instead of third rate copies of second rate shows. They will sell it as "women empowerment " and the sheep will flock to it thinking they are actually changing the world.

Your argument seems be a form of false dilemma fallacy, wouldn't you say?
 
I find these superhero movies to be patronizing. Come and watch the movie just because it’s features your favorite superhero. And if one movie fails, another director would create entire new franchise based on the same superhero by changing actors and the villain. And they have no reason to change the trend as people watch this regardless of how insulting this is.

It has become like Bollywood with higher budget.. No story; no acting; no direction but movie will make millions just because it stars certain actor.
