How many players from Pakistan have hit triple centuries?

If Pakistan allow Warner to break Lara's record, they should be shamed for eternity.

It would be like the travesty of Hayden breaking it briefly.

Warner and Hayden are great Aussie openers but that's where it should stop.

Warner feasting on Pakistan's toothless attack. This is a monstrous innings. I doubt he'll score a 400 tho, declaration is coming soon.

I guess ICC got a point with 2 league test divisions and all that.

Finally declared. He got past Bradman btw. Surprise, Paine should have let Warner get to 400 IMO.

Brain Lara’s record would have been history today, but this is Aus, country comes first and then individuals...

Shows the difference in mentality between sub continenters and Aussies. Aussies play to win, sub continenters will try to get personal glory even if it means reducing their teams chances of winning by 5%ish.

Captain should have allowed Warner to go for the record. He was scoring his runs fast and if he would have got to 400, Aussies would declare at 680-690, which means no need to bat again. That's an apt decision for me. Probably they felt 589 is enough as well and they may not bat again but still with players like Warner, you could have gone for it.

I feel that Paine could have allowed Warner to go for it. Aussies would have batted once and that would have been enough for them. Warner bats fast as well and he would score even faster.

And then we take pride in our bowling legacy.

Pakistan - one of the worst cricket nations.

There's chance of rain as well? I think it's good decision to declare gives Aussie bowlers enough overs to take few early wickets.

Also, the way Aussies batted, the pitch looks to be flat. He might have thought 3 days may not be enough to get them out twice, especially if it rains.

Brain Lara’s record would have been history today, but this is Aus, country comes first and then individuals...

This is stupid. It's one thing when you are playing against a quality batting side.
Pakistan will anyway lose by an innings and the match will get over in 4th day. He could have easily scored 400 and Australia could have still won the match quite easily.

:)))

And people think this bowling attack is bad!

Damn.

People used to score double and triple hundreds for fun against our legendary and experienced bowling attacks.

Clearly the Aussie side is not led by a random indian fan. They are a professional side and don’t underestimate the opposition. In addition there are forecasts for rain the next two days so they have many factors in mind...

Paine is a fool and is captaining Australia only because they can't give it to Smith and Warner. His tactics and decision making has already costed Australia a great chance to beat England in England which they haven't done in past 19 years.

It's fine not to take risk and declare when you feel you had enough but Paine is not the best guy atleast till now in terms of decision making for Australia.

And Lara being the captain kept batting till after lunch of the 3rd day. Anyways, congrats to Warner.

Pakistan - one of the worst cricket nations.

The bowling legacy was built on past reputation when bowling standards were much lower. Other countries have progressed in both batting and bowling, Pakistan has been left behind.

Finally declared. He got past Bradman btw. Surprise, Paine should have let Warner get to 400 IMO.

I remember Taylor declaring at 333* to preserve Bradman’s record.

Going on to 400 might have taken too much time out of the match, preventing an Australian win.

This is the best triple hundred against a quality pakistan attack.

What sehwag did in multan was an average innings. It was a flat wicket unlike dancing and swinging wicket of Australia.

Second the bowling attack back then of Pakistan was inexperienced and full of truddlers.

So this knock by Warner is the best.

David Warner never believed he was "losing it " as a batsman during his miserable Ashes series.

The Australia opener etched his name into the history books on Saturday as he struck an unbeaten 335 in the second Test against Pakistan at the Adelaide Oval.

In the process he became the seventh Australian to record a triple-century and overtook the highest score by the great Don Bradman (334) with an incredible innings that featured 39 fours and a six.

Only Matthew Hayden stands above Warner on the list of highest Test scores by an Australian, with his Herculean effort coming after an away Ashes series in which he surpassed single figures just twice.

Asked in a media conference if he ever felt he was losing it during his miserable run in England, an amused Warner replied: "Nah, never, never losing it. What kind of question is that?

"At the end of the day, you're going to have people who doubt you and, to be honest, through that whole campaign in that series, I always said I wasn't out of form, I was out of runs.

"I say this, not just in hindsight, but if I had my time again, I would have not changed my guard, I wouldn't have listened to some external noises, I would have backed myself more and batted where I have been here, outside off, leaving the ball patiently, getting my bat and pad closer together and under my nose. And I am capable of that.

"I just think in England you can get caught up in playing too much in front, especially with the way that I play. So I've had to regroup coming back from England.

"I've probably hit over three and a half to four thousand balls in the nets leading into Brisbane. And obviously here as well I've batted for a good two hours per session. It's not by chance that I've actually tightened all that up. I've actually been working really hard in the nets.

"Look, I've never doubted myself at all. It's one of those things where I'm a very confident person. Whether or not I'd scored these runs or didn't score my runs, I'd still hold my head up high and have that little smirk on my face that I always have."

Despite his historic performance, Warner indicated he can still make improvements in terms of his focus at the crease.

"I think the last two Tests, I said in the last press conference it's probably the best I've ever batted, the most disciplined I've ever batted and the most patient I've ever batted," he added.

"I just felt at ease, especially batting with Marnus [Labuschagne]. We were really talking about the game and I think sometimes I get carried away with talking about where I'm looking to score instead of what the bowler is actually doing and how he's trying to get me out.

"I think that will stay in the back of my mind now moving forward."

A lovely gesture by David Warner has caused chaos in the Adelaide Oval crowd after a battle for his history-making helmet.

After his incredible innings of 335, Warner singled out a small child near the front of the players' race as he exited the ground.

He can be clearly seen giving the helmet to the young child, but madness ensues as others try to grab it from him.

Not long after, a group of three different boys can be celebrating their new prized possession.

However, it was shortlived after Cricket Australia took the helmet off the group.

The father of the pair took to Twitter, in a later deleted tweet, to complain about the situation.

However, on closer inspection, it seems that Zac, the boy interviewed with the helmet, was the intended target for Warner's helmet.

The sleeve of Zac can be seen directly in front of Warner when he is giving his helmet into the crowd.

We still think the young boy in the green was unlucky but it's much easier to comment online without really being there!

As for what young Zac is set to do with his new prized possession?

The signed helmet with the number 335 on it will be hung up in either in his bedroom or in the home theatre room.

This will be a moment he remembers for some time.
