David Warner is now the batsman's equivalent of a chucker

Ajmal was banned from bowling
Warner has not been banned from batting

/ end of thread

not a ridiculous thread.

The OP has a valid point of view that if one could deemed illegal while the rule being there why couldn't this be

I do not see how does OP have a valid point of view. Ajmal was banned because he was breaking a rule. He could not bowl anymore until he corrected his action. Warner never broke any rule, was never banned, can pickup a different bat and play the next game.

By the same logic Ajmal's action was deemed fit and legal by the previous testing method and then the testing method was changed and his action was declared as illegal. Then you lot jumped onto the bus claiming he has always been a chucker.

So that new laws have come which restricts bats and Warner has been using a bat thicker then the newly implemented laws, going by your logic, Warner has always been a cheat.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Exactly. Funny to see all these guys scampering around trying to deal with the cognitive dissonance they're experiencing. Either blame both Warner and Ajmal for breaking rules not in place or stop blaming either of them.

Anyways, the purpose of this thread has been accomplished. The double-standards have been exposed.

So by that logic Warner is a cheat till he starts using a thinner bat.

How hard is it for you to understand that Warner was not banned for a single day from batting?

Ajmal was not stopped from bowling with a particular make of a ball. He was banned from bowling any ball that has been ever made.

Warner did not break any rule because there was no such rule preventing batsmen from using thicker bats. Chucking laws have been there from the beginning.

No, he's a cheat when he breaks rules that get put in place, which means hes not unlike Ajmal who did break the rules put in place.

Struggling to tell whether this is a troll thread given some of the quite hilarious logic that has been followed in it.

Warner simply took advantage of a lack of rules by the MCC. Not the same as Ajmal chucking blatantly a d getting banned. Apples and oranges really . Desperate attempt to defend a chucker and liar.

Yeah, I'm disappointed.

I loved Ajmal when he was playing. But it's also a fact he was a cheat and a chucker. He was breaking the rules that existed, and blatantly, but got away with it for some time.

Nobody has ever chucked more than him. Bilal7 can't see it.

Everyone knows Ajmal is a chucker.

Even his staunchest supporters know he chucked.

But this is Pakpassion.

So naturally the denial mode is higher.

But you have to laugh at the logic being put forward by Ajmal fans to try to accomplish his credentials.

Two different cases, trying to put into one.

Somehow magically Ajmal was under 10 degrees and suddenly the new testing methods were the problem, and not his blatant chucking of 50 degrees. Ridiculous.

Agree

Laughable logic from Ajmal fans

More than anything I am disappointing with the blind fan-ism that is preventing some to understand the flaws in their logic.

And then I read statements like:
Anyways, the purpose of this thread has been accomplished. The double-standards have been exposed.

See here's the thing... Ajmal with his remodeled action became a shadow of his former self effective immedeately . Got hammered by Bangla's nobody batsmen (at the time), and has faded away.

David despite carrying a smaller bat today has made yet another ton at more than a run a ball.

You can give him a tree trunk or the 2 rupee wala plastic bat for kids from Tariq Road toystore. Doesn't matter.

But can you give Ajju a certain degree limit to bowl within, will he be good? :ibutt

Not to mention bats have been getting bigger ever since the late 1800s. Viv's bat was bigger than Bradman's or Hobb's, is he now an equivalent to chucker, because by comparison his bat is bigger, no?

Same goes with from the time period from 90s to early 2000s. Esp in the 2003 WC where everybody had bigger bats.

Looks like pitches matter more than bats also why is the aspect of "lying" being ignored here?

Lol Warner is now destroying opposition with a smaller bat.

Some of the comments on this thread is hilarious. Trying to defend Ajmal who was chucking 30 degrees? And getting away because the rules werent strictly imposed.

Warner did something absolutely legal by the laws of those times. Now he saw a change in the law and used a smaller bat. Simple

The big hitters will still hit big. Big bats have given them a negligible edge only.

The biggest six at Lord's was hit by Albert Trott in 1899 with a stick bat. No batsman with the so-called super bats has been able to top that, and that's just one example.

Those who think that the big hitters are big hitters because of the big bats don't understand why some players, whether in cricket, golf or baseball, are capable of hitting it big.

It's not just about strength either, otherwise Dwayne Johnson would be hitting longer drives than Bubba Watson.

Warner or Maxwell will not turn into Fawad Alam because of the restrictions.

So it didn't even take 24 hours.

Ridiculous thread. To put another perspective into this. Using big bats has been very common for a long time and most young guys who grow up practices and masters their skill with the bigger bats. Do you think young kids grow up practicing chucking like ajmal? If they did, I would bet my house there would have better checkers than ajmal who would have achieved far more. Ajmal had that unfair advantage, warner didn't

Over 50 degrees my dear brother, he is an all time great here :ajmal

One of the strangest threads I've seen. Course Warner isn't the equivalent of a chucker. He wasn't doing anything illegal. Now the rules have changed, he's changed to a smaller bat. Perfectly fine.

For example let's take Ajmal. He was bowling under the rules before his ban. Yes he was likely bowling over the limit, but he tested under the limit under those testing procedures at the time hence deemed legal. Those wickets he got while playing before shouldn't be banished from the records, nor diminished how good a bowler he was. It was the ICCs fault for poor testing methods in the past. Not Ajmal's fault. But yeah the difference is Ajmal probably was bowling illegally throughout his career. While Warner at no point has been illegally playing with too big a bat.

.

The rules have not changed yet.

OP keeps insisting that rules for Ajmal were changed.

The rules were not changed, testing center was changed and the way the test was conducted was changed.

If you bowled above 20 degrees in any century, you would have been called a chucker.

What was the rule for bat size before Warner started using his blade? I am sure OP knows there was no rule.

However, in haste to defend Ajmal, one does have a pertinent problem.

Even if we assume that test center and way the angle was measured was changed, 50 degrees is blatant chucking.

You think under old rules Ajmal would be still 20 degrees or less? Laughable.

He was always over 20 degrees, ICC just decided to crack down.

Well argued. Your point is correct and seems obvious, however somehow the argument continues.

So...... is his bat still too big?

Warner is talented regardless of bat size unlike Ajmal who now plays gully cricket
