Two players who have been overshadowed by the Fab Four among the finest players of this generation. But if we compare these two, who do you think has been a greater cricketer of this generation? Both are terrific fielders and among the best of this generation. Both are ODI and T20 World Cup winner.

Warner has won more trophies.

I would pick Warner because he is more consistent.

Stokes.

You can find an opening FTB connoisseur a dime a dozen these days- even though Warner is best of the lot.

But finding a genuine world class allrounder who can turn the tide of the game like Stokes is rare. I pick him.

If we are strictly talking about bar fight Stokes will edge Warner
Ehh, I think Stokes has his work cut out for him.

Warner is a family man now and is usually all smiles. Mature and mellow.

But 2010s Warner was a different beast in the playing conditions of a bar.

A good all-rounder is generally always a greater 'cricketer' than a single suit player.

In this case you have someone who bats, bowls and is a captain ( successful test captain for country is the pinnacle of the sport) vs someone who just bats.

It's no contest.

If stokes is just a batter then he is nowhere near warner, but if stokes is bowling as well, then he definitely has an edge corner warner. But for me, i will go with David Warner due to his impact in big event and his consistency.

Warner without a doubt because he has been a better performer over double the time Stokes has been around. Stokes has had some thrilling wins for England but a win is a win at the end, thrilling or not, and Warner has won Australia way more matches than Stokes has won England. Often thrilling matches leave a mark on fans and sway decisions through emotions, but data can’t be negated. Overall performances in wins counts for more in the end.

And yeah, Stokes as a bowler was / has been average, nothing special. Frankly, he’s a poor man’s all rounder, given how the modern standards for all rounders have fallen.

No, Bazball has not enhanced his reputation for me. Captaincy was not a criteria for my evaluation because Warner never really captained.

Both are home bullies, both are mentally tough, Warner is a more dominant home bully but Stokes is more multidimensional. Both have champion mindset, very tough to choose.

Warner..

Yes Stokes was the man of the match in two ICC finals but Warner has 50 international Hundreds to his name. Stokes doesn't even have 20.

Warner also has won all the three ICC World titles for his country. Way too much to outweigh for Stokes with just two finals knocks and Headingley 2019.
