David Warner's innings has been a masterclass in terms of fitness.
He is playing at 300+ and still running his heart out for doubles, triples. This is what separates the very best from good players, FITNESS.
The quality of attack is poor, the bowlers are meek and subservient and lack aggression and pace. However, the silver lining is that Babar Azam is watching this innings from the front seat. If he has hunger to be the very best in the world he should have realised how important a role fitness plays. He needs to go to Warner after the end of day's play or maybe when match is over and talk to him for 30-40 minutes and understand his fitness regime, his diet and mindset to keep himself in the best of shape.
He should learn not to be content at scoring 100-130 and getting tired and giving up his wicket. If he really wants to be he very best in the world he needs to understand the art of playing daddy innings. For that you need top level fitness. In countries like Australia where boundaries are long you need high level of fitness to be able to take 2s and 3s.
Another important point, when you are out of form (which will happen to Babar eventually), you can get your confidence back by taking quick ones, twos and threes easily. It's easier for a Kohli, AB, Smith or Warner to come back to form and regain their confidence than for someone like a Gayle or Sehwag or ganguly type players.
Even if Pakistan lose by innings and 200 runs from here, this match can still be good for Pakistan if it gives Babar the understanding he needs to elevate his game to next level.
Will he take this opportunity? Time will tell.
