Finally a proper A grade hollywood movie on the Wendigo myth. I am a fan of this folklore horror sub genre and the horror buff in me is hyped already. This is based on a short story 'A quiet boy' by Nick Antosca, a treat for horror fans. I read that and it is scary af. Disturbingly haunting, gut wrenching and painful all at the same time.

Until Dawn is a very decent, underrated horror game that deals with the wendigo myth

True, I liked it.

The reason I am hyped about this movie is, despite being as rich a lore as any Wendigo hardly got any proper representation in the popular culture so far, while truckloads of films and tv shows were made about their late night colleagues, the vamps and werewolves. Have been an avid fan of Del Toro since his 'The Davil's backbone', all the more reasons to be excited about this film. The trailers have a creepy indie type look and feel and doesn't really give out much which is a huge plus and if the short story upon which this film is based is anything to go by, this movie is gonna scare the pants off me and then some more which is exactly what I am looking forward to.

This may not do well at the box office and may very well go totally unnoticed but then again some of my most favorite horror flicks are independent productions and hardly known outside horror circles.

Won’t bother watching the trailer. Horror movie trailers literally give away all the best scares.

Mama was also based on a short film..overall, it was quite average. Lets hope this lives up to the hype.

Weird comment no offence, of course the quality of the adaptations will vary. have you read that story though? It is really short, won't take much of your time. there are many platforms available where you can read it for free.

It gave away the creature

I felt they gave away only bare minimum to the viewers, which is actually necessary to build interest. For me though, I will watch anything that has Del Toro in it.

Welcome back BTW. Hope life's treating you great!!

What I meant was Mama also had Del Toro’s name attached to it & was hyped as a very scary movie.
