The German said last week he "decided three weeks ago we would have a mid-season break based on a letter we got [from the Premier League] in April 2019" but should he not have been there with his side?

Why would Klopp want to be present when we play a small club like Shrewsbury at home with 11 kids on the field?

The FA Cup used to be very important but since the end of the old Wembley and the Champions league it's now become a mickey mouse cup.

Liverpool want to retain the Champions League and finish off the season with a high points tally.

The LFC players are amongst the most hard working players on the field with a very intense style of play. They deserve and need the break and so does the manager.

It's mostly English writers or ex footballers who are criticising Klopp but they are living in the past, football has moved on and the FA cup is no longer important for many fans.

He can play whatever team he wants but he should have been there at the game. He is the manager of Liverpool.

I like Klopp, but I also think he should be there and playing a more senior side. I don't know what the full story is about the winter break but Klopp as manager needs to be the one representing LFC.

Fans pay a lot of money, be it through match tickets or sports TV subscriptions. Least they can expect is that some stars are on show. They don't want to be spending their hard earned dosh on watching a bunch school kids who may end up getting tanked.

But to their credit, the kids did exceptionally well and it was a Man Utd academy graduate who scored for them!

Liverpool fans who pay the money are fine with this. Others can moan , LFC don't care.

Im a LFC fan and went to watch the kids v Villa, paid money and we lost by a big margin, no big deal.

Most commies are jealous we are smashing the league to pieces this year.

Managers are also entitled to a break. No big deal that Klopp did not turn up. Winter break means winter break.

The real question is what's the point of England introducing winter break, where there are still fixtures like FA Cup replays during that break? Also, what is the point of replays? More money?

Replays help the small clubs financially esp if they get to play away against a PL team.

The Premier League introduced a winter break advising all PL clubs not to schedule any games but they forgot FA cup replays.

There simply is too much money to be made from football esp from the Premier league.

If more top club managers did the same as Klopp the PL and FA would have to change their greedy thinking out of sheer embarrassment.

I understand when clubs want to rest players for more important matches, im fine with it but a manager wanting a break, thats a new one.

Maybe its tiresome for klopp to be standing on the touch line and jumping around like a monkey and pulling weird faces.

Klopp jumping around the touch line and pull weird faces is a whole lot better than your hero Ole Gunnar Solksjaer sitting in the dugout with his legs crossed looking like a lost child in a supermarket.

Its called passion and Utd need some if they want to get into the Europa League :)))

Not at all. As far as I know as long as team Liverpool plays it is all good. JK did not break any rules here at all. The media and those crying about it are beating their chests over nothing.

FA Cup is a useless tournament anyways. No one cares about it now. It's on the level of Europa League, All good if you win it but no one cares even if you get eliminated in the first round.

Why did i expect that reply from you

After winning everything there is while lp were in the doldrums i think i know what passion is.

What i said was simple, players can be rested but the manager isnt exactly going to suffer fatigue from attending

Yes it was disrespectful.

It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for the Shrewsbury fans and players to experience Anfield.

They have never played in the premier league and most probably never will, but his highness is too big and too tired to have a semblance of respect for his opposite number.

He has been moaning a lot about the FA and the League Cup for a while now. He thinks English football owes him and his team for winning the UCL and the league (after 30 years).

Klopp should not forget that whatever he has won with Liverpool is because of getting lucky with Barcelona overpaying for his long shot merchant.

Without the Coutinho money that he used to sort out his clownish defense, he couldn’t win a tea cup at Liverpool, was getting owned by managers like Emery in finals and finishing 20 points behind Pep.

Hopefully Pep will regroup and put him back in his place next season. Liverpool is the biggest club in England but Klopp will always be a small manager compared to Pep.

Perhaps a reality-check could be on the cards next season because of AFCON from January to February 2021.

The magnificent and glorious Mane and the selfish Egyptian diver would be unavailable at a crucial period, and perhaps VAR would also be less biased.

However, Klopp will probably spend big on attacking players this summer because of AFCON, and then Liverpool fans will say that Klopp doesn’t need to spend money to be successful.

The rumors of Mbappe might have some legs. If Klopp wants him that means he might want to get rid of his selfish Egyptian diver, because Mbappe cannot play their Firminho role and you play him, Mane or the selfish Egyptian diver together.

No doubt the AFCON concern will shape Liverpool’s transfer activity this summer. Nonetheless, Madrid have a better chance of sustaining success over a long period of time.

Things can unravel for Liverpool very quickly and they could find themselves back at their early 2010s level very soon, so Mbappe should keep that in mind and sign for Madrid.

A small manager like Klopp certainly doesn’t deserve to get his hands on Mbappe. If it happens it will certainly be a tragedy.

It was so fantastic to see Liverpool never winning the PL trophy since it’s formation in 1992, or the league trophy since 1990, but all good things must come to an end.

It is a shame that it took a small manager like Klopp to end the drought. That honor should have belonged to a Liverpool club legend or a top manager.

This is such a disgustingly tribal post. I don’t rate you as a poster but this is terrible even for you.

VAR is the same for everyone. But apparently your team would’ve won the league if it wasn’t for VAR. Definitely.

This is not my about ‘my’ team.

My team is 10th in the league and can’t get into the top 4 any time soon even if it buys VAR.

VAR should be the same for everyone but it hasn’t been this season. The amount of luck Liverpool have had in terms of 50-50 decisions going their way is ridiculous.

Liverpool deserve to win the league but VAR has played a big role in ensuring 24 wins out of 25 matches played.

This is not passion, this is show off. He is exposing his «awra» or «sattar». I got huge respect for him when I learned he was playing while fasting, and now when he have had some upper body gains he couldn’t resist showing it to the World. I still do respect him, but he could have avoided this.

And before someone start attacking me, well go on, this is my personal view.

What 50-50 decisions? We had a "50-50" decision go against us in the one game we didn't win.

The Man City one was the closest to a "50-50" decision that I can think off. That's been discussed to death and I don't think it's a penalty because it came off Silva's hand before it hit Trent's hand. No goal scoring opportunities can come from a handball from an attacking team.

Ironic when an Arsenal fan calls Klopp a small-time manager. 99% of your fans would have him in a heartbeat. You're the only exception.

Have you ever consistently held a belief for an extended period of time? In a previous debate you accused Liverpool of spending the same amount of money as Man City. In a post in this thread, you argued that Liverpool are only where they are because they luckily got money for Coutinho.

I don't think you understand how VAR works. Your implication that it has been bought is as idiotic and tribal as anything you ever write here.

It just boggles my mind that for someone who is probably blessed with more brain cells than an average person you somehow still choose to operate on a single one.

Everyone needs a break every now and then.

FA Cup, EFL Cup, Copa Del Rey are all irrelevant tournaments. I don’t blame Klopp a bit.
