hahahaha! Did Zim D rest Kohli in their team too in the previous tournament Amir met with? :tahir2

He is done and dusted. On his day, he could still be useful on some green tracks but that’s about it.

Yes, if Kohli was there, India would have been 97-6 instead of 97-0, lol.

You made me laugh, thanks for that.

First SENA and INDIA needs for motivation
Then India needed for motivation
Now Kohli needed for motivation.

I once again thank you, I literally smiled on ur...

yes. also rohit sharma didnt say hi to him in the hotel lobby this morning so he got demotivated

Two Best players of their respective sides and one of the thrilling individual contests on offer.

Could it be the reason that absence of Star Player Kohli has resulted in lack of motivation for Amir to give his 100% against India in these matches?

Amir is one of the players who brings his best game against best teams and best opponents . I mean even if he gives a top performance and wins the match , Indians will point towards absence of Kohli for India's defeat. There is not much incentive on offer for Ace players to performan against teams missing their most important player.

You are onto something here. Amir needs Finals against India and also Kohli, he is a huge big match player against big players.

Time to cut the cord from Amir and move on.

I've had enough of his cross-seam and his inconsistent bowling.

I'm just amazed he hasn't taken anything on board in-regards to wrist position and release from the coaches, or is Azhar Mahmood not doing his job?

Everything about his bowling currently is a far cry from the bowler he once was.

No, get Mohammad Asif in as the bowling coach, he’ll get amirs balls going in and out 90 degree angles

The warning signs were first there during the 2016 England tour. Everyone expected him to run through the English lineup like he did in 2010. But he played 4 tests and averaged an eye-watering 42 with the ball. That was a clear indication that he'll never be the same bowler as he was before.

Should be dropped for even Rahat Ali. Need to be kicked soon, don't have pace don't have swing

I guess the question now could be did Mohammad Amir deserve to be selected ahead of Usman Shinwari for today's match against India.

The reasoning was that Amir was a better option than Shinwari, but Amir has been given the golden boy treatment for the last 3 years. The likes of Junaid, Rahat, Irfan, Wahab, Imran Khan have all been axed, dropped after 1-2 bad games but Amir always keeps his place in the team even though he doesn't deliver. Why should he be given this special treatment over others? What is so special about him?

Why not drop him after a few bad games then to make things fairer? Or why not give the other bowlers an extended run and give them time to find their form, rhythm like Amir always gets?

I just can't get why he doesn't do the basics right. The seam, wrist position and run-up are all wrong and something the coaches [if they haven't already] spoken to him about. Azhar Ali really needs to come out and state why the bowlers have looked so poor throughout this tournament.

Hasan Ali and Shinwari have looked poor too.

Needs to be dropped from the squad and must be told that he is dropped because he is not performing. He has to perform to stay in the team otherwise he will not be selected for the national side.

Lol, all the lobbying from 2010 to 2015 to get the ban reduced for this garbage of a bowler. Wonder if we would have been better off doing all this lobbying for Amir. I wonder how do the likes of Junaid, Rahat Ali, Wahab, Imran Khan feel who have had to take a complete backseat in their careers because this guy undeservedly gets selected game after game without anything to show for it.

There are issues with his approach to the crease and his delivery stride.

He's not getting through his action properly as a result of him stuttering as he approaches the crease.

"Without anything to show for it"

That is not true. He had a few good outings.
CT 17 for example.

Shinwari has displayed some absolute dumb bowling throughout this Asia Cup. To get whacked around infront of square by a player like that Shahidi, and the manner in which he got whacked, deserved some time on the bench no matter who we were playing next. Amir has lost confidence in his abilities IMO and should be rested for the Aussie series.

Pakistan were going to defend that score with or without Amir, no team's chasing 340 in a high pressure final.

Still, I think these are over-reactions, UAE does not suit Amir's style. He would do fine in England, people need to keep the faith in him.

Shinwari does not have the amount of experience that Amir has, he can be excused for an off game.

True. But he deserved to benched for some absolutely dumb bowling in 2/3 games he has played in this tournament. Whether Amir was the right option to replace him is another debate altogether.

Amir will be brought back into the team for the finals if Pakistan win, in place of Hassan Ali

You can bet on that!

The team management known for giving Wonder Boy treatment to Amir will bring him back in place of Hassan Ali who had an average game today.

Dropping Amir for a game here and there is just a charade when he gets brought back as soon as another bowler has an off day.

I just hope after this performance Junaid Khan gets a long rope in the team and doesn't get dropped only to wait for Prince Amir to fail for 10 games.

We still have to chase this challenging total of 240. Gosh...

I have personally lost faith in Amir

Mohammad Amir dropped from the Pakistan Test squad against Australia
