What's new

Did Mohammad Yousuf try to convert Australian players during the 2009/10 tour?

No, I'm not. You're backbiting Inzi withut proof and FYI, that Yousuf thing is just a rumour and its sad that you're treating it as fact. Validates what I said in my previous post.

Like I said, you keep talking about Amla but then say that people become intolerant and rude when they become religious which is just not true. Its completely the opposite from what I've expereinced in all my life, you actually have to be around the religious elders and scholars to observe this. Reading blogs on Dawn won't show you this.

There are exeptions obviously but I've seen a lot worse from clean shaven, secular "Muslims".

I would like you to forward me the criteria and background research that you used to conduct this survey, as well as the names of the professors who validated your query.

You get on my case when I use the word "fact" but are blatantly lying here.
most of our Pakistani Mullahs and Tableegis who are uneducated and dont know anything other than Quran and Hadith. There have been many stories about Inzi trying to persuade players to become more religious. Faith is a personal matter. I know clean shaven Muslims do bad stuff but so do bearded Muslims. What i dont like is the notion that bearded Muslims are somehow better than those who dont have a beard and are automatically good people. I have seen many bearded Mullahs be hypocritical and come across as arrogant. The beard is used as a mask. You see guys in the UK in Ramadan grow beards become religious then as soon as its finished go back to drinking womanising. Also you see girls wearing Hijabs praying then going to Shisha bars. So Beard and Hijab dont mean you are automatically a pious person which is what many Pakistanis think. Goodness comes from within the person Amla is a good person inside.

When you start harrasing players to become religious read namaz then it becomes a problem. There were reports of Inzi and Woolmer arguing because Inzi kept saying to him how can you be an atheist. That is disrupting the team.

Couldn't agree more with that. Once a person's views are causing problems for others in the team that player should be discarded if he refuses to rein it in.

The thread seems to be going off into all sorts of directions with general complaints about Tableeghis, references to Hamza Yusuf and Junaid the singer. Might make sense just to keep it cricket related and stick to that.

Everyone, please stay on topic and don't derail the thread. This thread is about whether or not Yousuf neglected his duties as captain in Australia to focus on preaching, not tge merits or demerits of tablighi jamat or standards of akhlaq. The time pass forum is there for such discussions.

Won't be surprised if he ever tried to. Guy is good for Tableeghi Jamat only! :shehzad

Don’t know the truth about the article or what happened but one thing I would say is people are willing to listen to what makes you so different and firm on a particular way of life.

Nothing wrong with trying to tell others about you
