I think he was referring to fighting occupiers in Afghanistan . I don't know why people think America can go around terrorising nations but if people residing there defend themselves it's they who are the terrorists . Strange logic

Don't know why you keep mentioning me in threads/posts related to Pakistani (or Indian, or Bangaldeshi) internal politics. I have zero interest in these topics. Neither am I interested in what religious nutters, whether they be Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Buddhists etc, in these countries get up to. Only time I have any interest in what these mentally challenged individuals do or say is when their actions have, or likely to have, any impact on my life. What they get up to in India, in Pakistan, in Bangladesh etc, I couldn't care less.

Bangladesh bans Peace TV, 'provocative' television channel
DHAKA, Bangladesh, July 11 (UPI) -- Bangladesh stopped broadcasts of the television network Peace TV and banned its online presence in the country Monday, amid allegations it radicalizes the country's youth.

Peace TV, broadcast from Dubai in several languages, is led by Dr. Zakir Naik and owned by his Mumbai-based Islamic Research Foundation. His sermons allegedly inspired two terrorist attacks in the country in which 25 people died, a government official said.

"Our intelligence agencies are investigating his activities, as his lectures appeared provocative," Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said of Naik.

Prior to the ban, Bangladesh Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu told the news website Bdnews24.com, "I can tell you we have been receiving complaints about the provocative contents of his speeches.

"Peace TV is not consistent with Muslim society, the Koran, Sunnah, Hadith, Bangladesh's Constitution, our culture, customs and rituals."

These scholars really need to stay away from political statements of any kind. I don't care if he was preaching at the time and using it to explain something but seriously this should stop. They have made a fool out of themselves overseas...When I was a kid in Saudi our school had this teacher called Bilal Phillips, he taught Islamic Education and wrote several books that the kids used...few years ago I found out that he's been put on the anti-terror list for making absurd claims about Jews and Israel. This guy is a Black American unable to go back to his home country anymore.

When the report first emerged, the Indian government said: "We don't ban individuals, we ban organisations."

Naik, who heads the Islamic Research Foundation, is banned in the UK and Canada for his hate speeches. He is among 16 banned Islamic scholars in Malaysia.

He is said to be popular in Bangladesh for his sermons on Peace TV, beamed across the sub-continent, even in China, with a 100 million viewership. He is known for outrageous beliefs like homosexuals should be sentenced to death.

He also questioned once whether Osama bin Laden was a terrorist.

Seven terrorists attacked Dhaka's popular Holey Artisan cafe last Friday, killing 22 people, including two policemen. Three of the attackers are believed to be from elite schools and colleges.

Why people have a problem with that video, do you want people to lie and make up fake stories that non Muslims can propagate their religion in an Islamic state, Zakir Naik is speaking the truth in that video.

Propagation of falsehood is simply unacceptable in dar ul Islam, is that double standards? No because we have our standards and others have theirs.

So you shouldn't be upset if other states choose to clamp down on the rights of Muslims if people like him are allowed to spread that hogwash.

That is only one option and is not feasible for most people, but oppressed have a right to fight back against the oppressor, But Alhamdulillah there are many Muslim countries where one can migrate to if they can't practice their religion freely in another country.

also judging by the numerous posts on Muslim/Islamic related topic by Indians, it really does seem like there is growing intolerance and misinformation. add to that believing conspiracy theories that Muslims reproduce to outnumber Hindus is a sign of worry...

India and Saudi Arabia are chalk and cheese in many ways. If he finds the aura there more homely than out here, so be it. That he won't get citizenship of the country in question as stated above is his problem.

I'm just shocked that many here are making him to be some kind of martyr. Video evidence clearly proves that he was radicalizing his followers. In India I keep getting the feeling (fear) that a large-scale terrorist attack is only a question of 'when', not 'if' and blokes like him were only catalyzing the process.

Controversial televangelist Zakir Naik, who is the subject of multiple inquiries in India over allegedly incendiary speeches, has said he will not return to India this year. The preacher, based in Mumbai but now in Saudi Arabia, said in a Skype press conference his morning, "I am not running away". He said that it was always his intent to spend most of this year abroad, and insisted that so far, no Indian official or agency has contacted him with queries.

Bangladesh has accused the 50-year-old doctor of inspiring the young men who killed 20 hostages at a Dhaka cafe earlier this month.

Both the Centre and the Maharashtra government have launched investigations to determine whether his speeches, streamed online and aired on a television channel, urge or justify acts of terror. Peace TV broadcasts out of Dubai and is banned in India. After the Dhaka attack, the government has moved to crackdown on cable operators who continue to make it available.

In a press conference via Skype from Medina, the preacher who has been banned from entering countries like the UK and Canada but has been conferred with hefty awards in Saudi Arabia was asked if he had met the young gunmen who allegedly cited him in social media posts in the months before they attacked the Dhaka cafe. "I have knowingly never met any terrorist, but if some people stand next to me take photographs, I smile. I don't know who they are."

Dr Naik has delayed his return several times to Mumbai since the Bangladesh attack.

The Islamic preacher today said it was "misinformation" that he had supported suicide bombings, asserting that he has always condemned them since innocent people get killed and it is "anti-Islam".

"My statements were taken out of context... I am a messenger of peace," he said, refuting the allegation that his speeches have provoked terror.

Yep. I don't have a telly at home so I watch this Newshour programme on YouTube. There's a huge archive on the Times Now YT channel and I can pick any episode and forward/rewind at will.

I guess if you watch it repetitively on TV there will be some redundant topics and it becomes easier to hate.

On this Zakir Naik issue he's been spot on though. Look at those bearded folks in the panelist - if you ask them whether Osama bin Laden is a terrorist, you have to squeeze them so hard to say a simple "yes" like you and I?

These hate preachers are cowards in real life. They light the fire and then watch the world burn but too much of a coward to do it themselves. They use young brainwashed people as tools and weapons. Then these preachers get lot of support from ummah brothers esp the ones living in UK.

According to the police, Monday¡¯s case was based on a complaint filed by Abdul Majid Abdul Kader, 60, a resident of Mumbai Central. In his complaint, Kader named Navi Mumbai resident Arshid Qureshi, a guest representative officer with IRF; Kalyan resident Rizwan Khan, who is also believed to have IRF links; and two others, identified only as Haneef and Abdul, who are allegedly radicalising people.

Qureshi and Khan were arrested by the Kerala police and the Maharashtra anti-terrorism squad (ATS) on July 21 and 22 respectively, for allegedly radicalising a couple from Kerala and recruiting them for the Islamic State terror group, also known as ISIS.

According to an ATS source, while Qureshi is a bona fide employee of IRF, Khan¡¯s role was to prepare documents and conduct weddings for recent converts. A senior ATS officer said Khan has conducted more than 100 such weddings.
The special branch of the Mumbai police has been investigating IRF¡¯s activities and scanning Naik¡¯ whereabouts.

Zakir supporter/fans are either people who believe in his ideology or anti BJP pseudo seculars who just want a reason to go against current establishment even if it means siding with some idiot like Zakir Naik..
 
Pathetic guy ruining the image of Islam. Spreading hate, Wahabism, extremism with a very aggressive strategy. Also, can't believe he refers to Yazid as "Hazrat". Should be banned in Pakistan. Haven't really seen him here anyway and hopefully he'll stay away. His channels should be banned in Pakistan though. We can't have him feed us extremist ideologies anymore. So much for "PEACE" tv..
 
A Grade A Hypocrite.
An Islamist supremacist who spreads extremist views without actually directly inciting violence. I dont think Naik actually agrees with mass killing of civilians. But he certainly isnt someone who tries to.spread inter-faith harmony.



He has very little.scholarly training he is a layman with a super computer memory. He doesnt try historically contextualise verses or use tafsir or asbab al nuzul. This is common by Salafis and why they often veer to extremes.
The use of rationality or reason in their approach to scripture is sorely lacking.
 
Poor Zaki doesn't do enough to co-operate and promote a universal church of India where everyone lives under a rainbow and celebrate Diwali and eid together with no beef allowed,literally
