Dipendra Singh Airee is one of the finest all-rounders produced by Nepal national cricket team. In August 2018, he was one of the eleven cricketers to feature in Nepal’s first-ever One Day International (ODI), against Netherlands.

During the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, Airee recorded the fastest fifty in T20 International history, reaching the milestone off just nine balls against Mongolia. In April 2024, he became only the third player in T20I history to hit six consecutive sixes in an over, achieving the feat against Qatar national cricket team in the ACC Premier Cup. He is currently ranked among the top T20I all-rounders in the world in the ICC Men’s Player Rankings.

In the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Mumbai, Airee further cemented his legacy by playing a sensational match-winning innings against Scotland, guiding Nepal to a historic victory on the global stage with a composed yet explosive knock under pressure.

Nepal may be the cardiac kids, but Dipendra Singh Airee is the cardiac kid. What a fantastic, clutch player. His batting throughout the tournament was outstanding. He's easily their best player and someone who has a big role to play in the development of Nepal's cricket. For now though he has given their fans a memory to savour.

I like DS Airee too. Looks like a fighter that backs his strengths and delivers often. I would pay to watch him. He’s their next batting superstar after Paras Khadka.

The prospect of Nepal becoming a stronger team is very exciting. They have an incredibly passionate fanbase, they are known for having matches that regularly go down to the wire - which is why they have been dubbed 'the cardiac kids' - and they have some talented cricketers. Obviously they are not a very good team, which is evident by the fact that often miss out on Asia Cup qualification to expat uncles XI Hong Kong. But if they improve, it will add an interesting new flavor to international cricket.

Which is why I think players like Dipendra Singh Airee getting franchise league opportunities is massive. Because they play so few cricket against top teams and lack exposure when it comes to handling pressure, playing in leagues might allow their players to bridge the gap. Franchise T20 cricket has allowed Afghanistan to do just that.

I don't know if India helps Nepal, but they should allow Nepal's players access to some of their grounds and facilities. Similar to how Dehradun was Afghanistan's de-facto home ground for a number of years.

PSL has done a great thing by selecting Airee. What a promising batsman, this fella.

I was hoping that IPL would give him a long term gig too.
