Lahore has selected more PML-N members than any other party. Disappointed.

its understandable

Look you have to accept that PMLN gets work done in Lahore, and if they dont vote for PMLN it would be ridiculous on their part.

For Lahore to make a switch they need PMLN to perform bad in that area.

PML-N took money from all of Pakistan and put it in Lahore, when they weren't eating it.

Though, considering how much Lahoris liked to talk about being patriotic to Army when people supported MQM, hypocrisy is obvious

Basically this.

Pretty much this

Still you can see how many people have voted for PTI considering how much focused PMLN was on Lahore to ensure the votes in their favour. We must appreciate the people who have risen above from their comfort Zone for the sake of this country. It takes time and situation will only get better.....

Lahore gave their mandate. Lahore is in ways a far superior city to any in Pakistan so its understandable the vote they got. Imran now needs to be a leader for everyone, even those who opposed him.

Lol all the money they have made is from kick backs from mega projects in Lahore. This is PML-N way, create demand, fill the supply and make a cut on the side. I am 100% sure if you do a feasibility study on all the projects through a good cost consultant the cost of doing these projects wud be far lower than what they actually paid out for them.

What I said in the other thread but applies more here:

Maybe the people of Lahore should also start consuming paan, perhaps it will help them get some shaoor

Didn't you see it coming. Lahore always does this and I hope thr funding is cut

lol, The Youth voted for PTI and this is what matters. Either you can build on it or destroy their confidence.BTW, those who voted for PTI want policy changing rather than getting a few roads built..

Actually i am surprised PTI still won 4 NA and 8 PP seats from Lahore and came close on many seats PMLN spent so much on infrastructure in Lahore and IK criticized it so much it made majority of Lahoris feel insecure voting for PTI.

The worst thing was Dr. Yasmeen Rashid of PTI losing in Lahore; this woman has done everything for people of her Lahore constituency and then more while the past PML-N winners of her Lahore constituency has done nothing, and yet still she lost again  Disgraceful

A person told me that one of the main reason she is losing is that although she is punjabi but she is not the same sub-ethnicity as the majority of the people in that constituency; if true then its even more disgraceful   when will people look above ethnicity?

That's so ridiculous.

I mean, people accuse Karachiites of looking at ethnicity while voting for MQM, but MQM had Memons, Urdu Speaking, Biharis, Konkanis, Delhi Wale, and many more of a different ethnicity. Not once did people think that the candidate is not from their ethnicity. People who voted MQM also voted for Punjabi Karachiites standing for MQM.

That reason is actually sad, because even when MQM won based on anti-Pashtun fear mongering, the sub-ethnicity of the candidate never mattered.

That is naya Pakistan you shouldn't expect this from old Pakistan and Pakistanis.

sadly, some people dont understand that it becomes very difficult to vote against a party who is not doing harm to you. But people in Lahore did that and youth voted for PTI. Many matures felt insecure because of what you have mentioned. We have tried to rise above the benefit of our city for the sake of this country and you can see this from the number of votes PTI got even where it has lost in Lahore. The decision for which party to vote was difficult for Lahore because it had a choice or you can call Lahore a spoiled brat. The Historic Jalsa at minar-e-Pakistan Lahore back in 2011 was made successful because Lahore turned up. It set the tone for the rest of Punjab.

We are proud of you guys you gave us Imran Khan and Minar-e-Pakistan jalsa i am not disappointed at all with these results from Lahore it actually shows it's not a stronghold of PMLN anymore and the youth and many people there want change. Lahore is going to see a massive change soon when Local Governments are made strong and funds reach at the street level instead of going to MNA/MPA and that will make PTI more strong there and we will see the results next year in LB elections.

She is from Chakwal but married and settled in Lahore from decades

Lahori's disappointed big time. Especially Dr yasmin's loss is unforgivable.

That is not the reason for her loss. Your friend is generalizing on some paindoo's opinion. In Lahore, voter's psychology is different. They don't vote on ethnic basis at all. To be honest, this is the first time i have heard such thing.

Most of the people who call themselves lahoris now are actually first generation lahoris and their parents came here form jobs 20,30 years ago. I was shocked when i went to uni there & there were 60 people in my class. With the exception of 10 folks, all other had patrents who came from narowal, faisalabad, kasur, gujranwala, abbotabad, jhang, DG Khan etc. So that race thing is non-sense & if lahore operated that way, it might have to reject more than half of its population.

Now what lahori's are very famous/infamous for are their self-preservation instincts. Now i wanna clarify that I am not stereotyping anybody. I am just telling how they are perceived by other folks in punjab. If they have something to do with you & you can do them some good, they are cool. If not, they won't hesitate to cross you in an instant. The same mindset unfortunately prevails in their voting habits which doesn't let them see the big picture & they vote on a short term basis thinking how we will survive the coming five years with respective MNA/MPA.

I used to take the mickey out of friends (90% of whom are lahori) saying k tm young log jitna rola dalte ho, tmhare ghar/mohalle walo ne jitwana phir noon ko hi he & that is what happened. More surprisingly, my city faisalabad totally rejected N league. So i am having a real field day with these guys. Poor guys have been silent on whatsapp since then.

Now that I have gone over the folk's psychology, a lot of blame has to be put on the culture that was prevalent by N league over three decades. They have stronghold on that city that only the folks living there know. So lets not be harsh on the people alone & blame them 100%. The Noon league guys are the real badmaash (this a very polite term i am using, if i write what they actually are, I will get banned) & have been hurting/intimidating people in many implicit ways. So i can understand whyfolks were reluctant to vote against them. But no worries, these alliances will soon die out & I am positive that lahore will be a PTI stronghold by 2023.
