A solution to the environmental problems of burials and cremations?

For decades, most people arranging a funeral have faced a simple choice - burial or cremation?

But in parts of the US and Canada a third option is now available - dissolving bodies in an alkaline solution.
It will arrive in the UK soon.

Its technical name is alkaline hydrolysis, but it is being marketed as “green cremation”.

Why not? For those who don't have any religious objection it makes absolute sense, in a similar way cremation did before that. I can see it becoming increasingly popular in the UK as conventional Christianity dies out.

The most noble way of bowing out from the world is to either donate your body for medical research or let animals feed on your flesh. Imagine the number of hungry animals we would have been able to feed had we not buried and cremated billions of people.

How so? The religious leaders can't do a cremation which is against their beliefs, so where is the harm in bringing in someone else to do it who can comply with the individual's wishes? In Kader's case it was a Christian priest who stepped in and did the honours.

Did you read his entire post,second part?Religion conveniently took a backseat when a bomber,drug dealer who did much against religion was given proper funeral prayer.(Guess we need to start a thread on this)

Also surely it must be against Christian beliefs as well but didn't matter there.

Thanks to the unchecked use of diclofenac by veterinarians in the cattle on which dead body the vultures feed leading to renal problem in the birds and ultimately death.Thankfully supreme court came to its senses and banned the drug in 2006 but the damage was already done by then.
