Do Pakistan management have guts to play Imran Butt in the next Test?

Do Misbah and co have guts to debut Imran Butt in the next Test? What I think will happen is that Pakistan is going to go with the same eleven except Babar coming in for someone.

If Pakistan wants to become a strong team, they need to grow a pair to take tough decisions like this. Look at India, they debuted Gill and Siraj even after getting 36 all out in the previous match. Whereas Pakistan continue to have this risk-free approach of trying the same failures again and again. I would not be surprised if Imran Butt is dropped from SA series.

Nothing gutsy about it. Imran Butt after averaging 30 in QeA this season failed in the NZ A game, what makes you think he’ll do well? Better to expose the same batting order again, or at best give Rohail Nazir a callup who is the only batsman other than Fawad Alam to do well in that game.

He still did better than Shan and Abid in that game and from what I saw, he is a good fielder, something which is rare in Pakistani team so him making a debut is not a worse option than Shan and Abid.

Yes he scored the same 30 odd runs which is his avg, he came in as no.4 or 5 i guess..

Shan and Abid would do the same or even better for sure if they come in at 4 or 5...

Imran butt is been playing FC since 2012 and still avg mid thirties. nothing special about him except 1 good season in which every other batsman scored enough runs to their name...

He was totally a wrong selection from Misbah who continues to show that he has poor eye for screening talents...

Yes I would want him to be dropped for the SA series and show his performance in FC for a few seasons consistently..

As I said in one of my other threads, this Pak team is in a state of ascendency and have vastly improved their techniques and temperament. This is a new team and we would need to give this combination some time and need not tinker much unless it is driven by match/ pitch conditions.
