I put on Facebook where a lot of community people seen my message, I put it on for 5 seconds then deleted it, this is the message I put a few times:

'the police can arrest 'insert his name' for harassment, threat, more and take court'

Can he take things further is someone screen shot it? I doubt the police would do anything and legally he can't do much because he has a police log with evidence. He'd show proof of my message just saying he himself could get done for.

Maybe he could do me for slander. But that's a big stretch I feel.

______________

Ever since the cousin threatened and talked very angry to my sis on her wedding day, which I should've recorded it and its really if my sister will tell the truth. Its her word on what happened. I know he was threatening her.

I think when he was seated behind me, he was talking childish a lot, making funny noises for some reason, I don't know if he wanted to seek a reaction or indirectly taunt, I cannot tell.

The cousin once again has deliberately ostracised me for years, he tries to seek a reaction, he has belittled, put me down, disrespected, manipulates, acts manipulative. He does ignore anything positive.

I've put him in his place I think many times before, its not my fault no one says I'm hiring a developer, he'll never have that, which he doesn't like me getting ahead. He's clever in keeping composed.

Which country do you reside in?

I live in England my friend. I doubt its harassment, i doubt the police could do much with that comment. I doubt he could win in court if someone did copy and paste and shown him. Even for slander its a big, big stretch.

They may argue and manipulate the police of what they think my character or what I put as my job on social media, but that's not illegal and I've committed no crime even if they argue I'm like this or that in their opinion.

I honestly could not make any sense out of your original post, sir. Kindly read it and think about how a person unfamiliar with your situation might find it difficult to follow and understand what is going on.

I understand you have had a quarrel with your cousin and you posted something on FB, which you think might get you in trouble with the police? Is that correct? Thats all I gathered. I cant tell what was posted on FB, etc.

Yup can't decipher what he's written at all :))

OP want to have another go?

I have changed title based on what I understand

I am guessing the thread starter worried about a statement he made on FB and is justifying why he made it in the second bit.

I am also curious about the "hiring a developer" bit. That one seemed totally out of left field.

Anything you write on the internet can put you in trouble (if you are in the west).

Anjem Choudary was arrested after he showed support for ISIS on Twitter. One guy in USA was arrested after he threatened online to shoot up a school.

So, always be careful about what you write on the internet.

Yes. Everything you post on social media is evidence and can be used in a court of law, this includeds private text messages (SMS). This is UK law.

There’s a reason why posters can be held liable, reason posts on PP are deleted if liable (this is without evidence), reasons which include deformation of character.

Even sharing screenshots of Whatsapp/Signal/Messenger can be illegal if your name is not included in the chat, and sharing a screenshot from Snapchat, is by default illegal in the UK.

Libel, if you put it in print or on-line and someone spots it. Slander is verbal defamation.

Thanks guys.

This is all I put a few times then deleted after 5 secs:

''the police can arrest 'insert his name' for harassment, threat, more and take court'

This cousin already has a police log with a bit more evidence against him.

Can the police arrest me if people gang up on the police and talk about my perceived character to them or they say 'I am like this or that'? I've committed no crime to be arrested.

First of all: what you wrote, the way you phrased it, regardless of your intentions, reads more like an opinion to me than a threat to someone. You are just expressing your thoughts about a person's actions. You do not seem to be threatening anyone.

Then again, I am in the US and UK has weird social media laws that we do not have over here. So I could be wrong.

Don't worry if you haven't written or done anything threatening/illegal.

The thread starter will be fine because no one will understand it in the first place

I think he may be able to escalate things under the malicious communications act? I was told by various people its not harassment, it is libel.

All I put is 'the police can arrest the cousin for harassment, threat, more or take court'.

Never put anything on internet under your legal name which has your picture in it. What people say on social media is permanent.

Don’t be a coward. You exercised your right to free speech. If we start to worry about getting sued for libel or defamation we won’t be able to speak much, because these days anything we say can be interpreted as offending someone or something. So don’t sweat it. Punch the little **it in his face next time you see him. I think he deserves it.

Rofl Apparently Liberals are flocking to new social media called bluesky:

The exodus from X to Bluesky has happened – the era of mass social media platforms is over

Never heard of Bluesky.

I honestly loved the vibe of old Twitter much better. X feels boring now.

Apparently as per Liberals it has old twitter energy which too i had hated.
Blue Sky is made by Twitter’s founder Jack .

It’s good to have such outlets though: Threads Blue Sky X.. competition is always good i would say.

Personally though Reddit and Discord are the best.
