The terrorist chanted "pewdiepie" before going in the mosque. He's a famous swedish youtuber that has said racist things about jews and blacks, used the n word, he follows and promotes neonazis on twitter, is a supporter of ben shapiro, he also said racist things about Indians and has mocked them just because of the whole childish "pewdiepie vs t-series" beef. A lot of liberals believe he has normalized white supremacy? What do you guys think?

He was actually supporting pakistan in his video. Don't think he has anything to do with it whatsoever. The terrorist just wanted that extra publicity.
But that ben guy is such a crackhead. He thinks he's so clever and stuff. Such an arrogant person

He should be hanged without doubt but here all that human rights crap will come in to power. I don't know if he was an Islamophobe or a racist like did he hate Muslim's or coloured people? I see that many right wing Christians and RSS Hindu fascists are celebrating these murders online.

a_tahir In what video was he supporting Pakistan?

No I don't think so. The terrorist actually shouted "don't forget to subscribe to pewdiepie" which is just a reference to a meme and ongoing subscriber battle between pewdiepie and t-series.

I was never a fan of pewdiepie and always thought he was just some gamer kid making gaming related videos which I find totally boring. Perhaps his content has changed over the years I just cant get myself to watch any of his video thats, they are full of loserish internet meme stuff, completely boring to me. still I wouldn't make a connection between him and the terrorist attack.

No he isn't, he's a pretty good troll and does meme reviews and stuff. Shapiro is just your average Israel-loving conservative, albeit one who has cultivated an 'intellectual' image

Its actually quite clever of the attacker and shows the level of planning which went into this attack.

He knew Pewdiepie would have to come out and clarify.

Being the most popular youtuber and social media person in the world, his involvement would give the event a global coverage. And you can see now that it has actually happened.

He is certainly racist but I doubt he had anything to do with this attack. The terrorist wrote a lot of rubbish in his manifesto and there's no need to analyze it deeply (nor what he chanted).

I don’t think Pewdiepie has anything to do with white supremacy.

Pewdiepie has just made a few cheap jokes over the last few years, I don’t think he’s a racist at all.

The event didn’t need Pewdiepie to get global coverage smh

This is what happens when some random uneducated brat making gaming videos from his mom's basement is made into a celebrity by the internet.

I have no idea who any of these people he follows are other than Ben Shapiro and Paul Joseph Watson who I agree is a nut job.

Other then that I don’t think there is anything wrong with the likes of Joe Rogan or Jordan Peterson.

What has encouraged White Supremacy? The same thing that has encouraged the rise of Hindutva – lack of education and opportunity. Where there is poverty and illiteracy, there will be fascism and crime.

When a man doesn’t have food on the table of money in his pocket, he will look to blame someone else.

Internet has given a mouth piece to alot of individuals who have hateful ideologies. If you look at right wing sites like infowars and alex jones they say the most absurd things which gets them more views and that's what makes them stick out. The world has so many psychopaths who wouldn't last a day in the traditional media organizations because of their demenor but on the internet they are thriving because there are no checks in place. I feel that internet needs to be regulated like any other industry, and you should need a license to publish stuff on the net. If your stuff is found to be controversial then it should come with consequences.

I dont know this guy too much, I thought he made video game videos, and was the number youtuber for some reason. I thought he a was a pretty peaceful guy in his own world

He follows lauren southern. The person who's so anti-islam. I saw ali dawah's video on her. She's so anti-islam.

Stefan Molyneux is an alt-right mens right activist type wingnut who like scaremongering about white genocide.

Lauren Southern literally made a video about how "the great replacement" was a real thing that the west needs to be worried about. You know, the exact bloody thing that encouraged someone to go and murder a bunch of people praying in a New Zealand mosques?

Jordan Peterson is a Kermit sounding idiot's version of an intellectual who happily peddles nonsense about race science and male superiority/mens rights based on pseudo science and is only looked up to by people that are even stupider than he is.

Joe Rogan is a braindead dimwit who loves palling around with and giving a platform to xenophobes, white supremacists, fascists and all manner of terrible people under the guise of debate but then he just sits there nodding and going "Oh wow", "hmmm, yeah", "is that right?".

They are all awful and either explicitly alt-right or avenues leading to radicalisation by the alt-right and incels.

The fact that Pewdipie follows and supports them tells you all you need to know about him as well.

He has raised money for St, Jude children Hospital
He makes uniques videos just for charity
He has even worked for programs eridicating HIV/AID

How is Jordan Peterson a racist? Please provide a example of one of his arguments that you find offensive. His stance against bill c16 and gender pronouns is perfectly logical and most people in this forum would agree with if they looked beyond the media outrage. As for Joe Rogan I think your views are influenced the comment section of his videos than his actual podcast.

Jordan Peterson is a hack who believes in pseudoscience like IQ tests being proof that certain races are superior to others. He's also been a guest on Stefan Molyneux's show, a man who is a literal white supremacist.

And no, his stance on Bill C16 was wrong just like he is wrong about most things. You can read what someone that actually knows about law said about Bill C16 here:

http://sds.utoronto.ca/blog/bill-c-16-no-its-not-about-criminalizing-pronoun-misuse/

Jordan Peterson is a stupid person's idea of an intellectual which is why his biggest fans are stupid young adolescent boys that think "Clean your room" is some galaxy brain life changing wisdom and are scared about political correctness and multiculturalism because it chips away at their white male privilege. When your biggest fans are white supremacists it would normally set off warning bells but not for ol' JP:

As for Joe Rogan, in between the comedians and fighters he has on plenty of alt-right folks on his show and never ever calls them out when they start preaching their hate speech. Now that might be because he's not a journalist and doesn't know how to interview people or it might be because deep down he agrees with them. It's probably a bit of both imo but either way it is extremely troubling because he provides a platform for the alt-right to say what they feel like knowing they won't have any of their views challenged.

It's not a surprise that after watching a couple of Rogan videos on youtube you'll start seeing recommendations for other right wing videos.

Oh and let's not forget the way he not only had Gavin McInnes on his show but the way he defended him afterwards by saying the Proud Boys were just a prank bro and that Antifa were to blame for any violence.

You know, this Gavin McInnnes and these proud boys:

I would have concerns about the mental faculties of anybody that listens to the likes of Jordan Peterson and Joe Rogan and thinks "Yeah, this guy talks sense".

Most of the folks who have issues with Jordan Peterson are the leftist types who find it really hard to accommodate anyone who challenges their world view.

I have seen a few of his lectures and he is brilliant, and most importantly, it seems he wants nothing but the best for his listeners.

The attacker also said he is influenced by China and their homogeneous society. They control immigration and China is a good model to follow in new Zealand

Yes,,very true although they still have some token restrictions on YouTube. They need to be exercised more rigorously

I think that there’s nothing wrong with publicly speaking with people you disagree with even if they have toxic views. I have actually seen Joe Rogan challenge a lot of these “right wing” people when they come on his show. I don’t have anything in common with these extremist people but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with talking to these people and challenging and even trying to understand why they believe these terrible things.

Jordan Peterson however is first an foremost a psycologist so most of his opinions are based of a lot these psychological theories. I have seen one or two of his race IQ videos and I thought the differences in IQ came from cultural differences between different societies.

I don’t agree with a lot of what these two say but I’m pretty sure they’re not racist or even bad people. The media seem to demonise any who has views that are slightly different to the norm these days.

Spoken like someone that's drunk too much of the white koolaid. Deplatforming works. White folks can believe in trying to debate with white supremacists and neo-Nazis because they aren't the ones at risk, it's a fun little game for them.

There has been plenty of research, as well as real world examples (See Milo, for one. Glenn Beck for another) that shows that deplatforming works. Some views don't deserve a platform.

Most of his opinions are based on not being able to understand science and he became famous by misunderstanding the substance of a bill, or by deliberately misrepresenting it. Either way he's a pretty laughable excuse for an intellectual.

They are preaching about straight, white, male privilege. That's not different to the norm, that's the status quo.

That's why they kick up such a fuss about the evil "leftists" war on free speech and censorship all the time, they're scared about genuine equality meaning they lose their unearned political and social power and privilege.

Where were all the great free speech defenders of the intellectual dark web when Ilhan Omar was being targeted by an smear campaign seeking to silence her and actually take away her right to free speech?

Oh yeah, they were mysteriously silent. Well, it wasn't that mysterious. These nimrods only believe in free speech for white men, as has always been clear to anyone with two functioning brain cells to rub together.

Look I don’t know much about the American political scene. I don’t live in America. But people do like to completly write of people as racists and white supremacists when they say something that’s even a hint controversial.

I’m not saying that I’ve watched every bit of Rogan or Peterson content out there but from what I’ve seen they’ve got well thought out opinions and ideas and they do not have any sinister motives. I feel like that’s pretty clear.

Did not know that about Joe Rogan, but then I only see him on UFC, never listened to any of his shows. Always seemed like a decent guy on UFC, you would never guess he harbours racist views from that.

Joe Rogan routinely invites people who have vehemently anti Islam views and discusses Islam and Muslims with them nodding his head and saying oh ok as Big Mac has stated above. Buy he has not even once invited an individual/intellectual who would discuss or question the anti Mulsim rhetoric. So yeah Rogan is definitely an enabler of these right wing extremists.

Yeah I first knew him from watching UFC and enjoyed his commentary a lot. Then I listened to some of his podcasts and was like "Ooooooooh, this guy's a bit of a *****"

He invites all his alt-right buddies onto his show all the time, does the "both sides are bad" nonsense and tries to vilify Antifa for fighting against neo-Nazis and white supremacists and likes to constantly complain about political correctness meaning that free speech doesn't exist and how white people are the ones being oppressed.

I mean, he doesn't have to drop N-Words all over the place to know the score. These people make it obvious. Rogan and Peterson aren't explicitly alt-right but they're a gateway to those ideas. They're alt-lite, for want of a better term.

Morons think because he smokes weed he must be woke or something.

I'll ask the Peterson and Rogan defenders again, where were these brave crusaders for free speech when Ilhan Omar was getting dragged by all sides for simply stating a truth that everybody is aware of?

"ummmm...well y'see I don't really know about American politics and I don't really know that much about Rogan and Peterson but they seemed kind of OK from this teeny tiny bit of them that I watched but I'm totally going to fight hard in their defence for some strange reason"

If you don't know, then educate yourself before leaping to their defence. I've provided links to why Peterson was wrong about Bill C16, I've shown that Pewdipie follows a bunch of the alt-right white supremacists, I've shown that Rogan associates with white supremacists and the alt-right, I've shown that Peterson does the same and has plenty of alt-right fans.

On the other hand all you've provided is mealy mouthed waffle because you're too stubborn or proud to reexamine your initial stance.

If you don't know, then learn.

We're also talking about a genius that used to vehemently believe and argue that the moon landings were faked.

Damn it, won't be able to listen to his commentary with the same appreciation after today. Now I'm just going to be thinking 'shut up you tool what would you know?'

Come to think of it, I did think his rush to lambast the Khabib camp was a bit strange at the time, but I put it down to everyone being a big fan of McGregor. Now I'm thinking maybe more to it.

I’m very open to learn of all the terrible things they’ve said and change my stance on them. But the things people have showed me to show me that they’re racist bigots hasn’t necessarily convinced me.

I’m not a die hard supporter of Rogan or Peterson so it won’t hurt me if they do turn out to be racists. I might have look at some of the things you’ve said later on and see if I might change my mind on them.

And lastly there’s no need to be rude or aggressive, I don’t think I’ve said anything that would hurt anyone and if i have know that it was unintended.

I would be happy to talk to anyone about this subject and maybe even change my mind but it’s hard to listen to some one when they you say they’re drunk on white koolaid or you’re too proud.

Come to think of it, I did think his rush to lambast the Khabib camp was a bit strange at the time, but I put it down to everyone being a big fan of McGregor. Now I'm thinking maybe more to it.

The guy still knows what he's talking about when it comes to grappling but yeah, I wouldn't take him as an authority on anything else.

It's like Shane Warne, if he's doing a Sky Sports masterclass on how to bowl leg-spin then you listen to every single word he says. If he's talking about literally anything else, even if it's cricket, then you should probably ignore every word.

Yeah. Rogan knows his fight game to be fair, his analysis is usually good.

I have watched alot of pewdiepie videos in the past. Used to mainly watch it for wasting time for a good laugh. It's ridicilous that you're making a claim like this against a gamer/comedian. Have you ever played online games? N word is the nicest thing you'll hear compared to some stuffs that hurls out of some of the players mouth. That's how most gamers are.

I haven't been watching his videos for the last past year or two, but highly unlikely he is the cause of white KKK crazy rising up. He still makes crappy, tying to be funny video. You might want to point your finger at Trump for rise of white 'terrorist'. During/After his election, crime against muslim community sky-rocketed.

PewDiePie is relatively a chill guy. He is far from a white supremacist. Ben Shapiro is a white supremacist, he acts like he isn't but he is lol.

Lol, what? Pewdiepie is the most chilled out guy on youtube. Educate yourself before spouting nonsense.

"Subscribe to PewDiePie" is basically a meme. Don't start blaming people without knowing anything

Jordan Peterson certainly has a Islamophobia problem:

<iframe width="663" height="373" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qxElPqV-LTM" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Disturbing to see people defending Jordan Peterson here along with alt right white supremacists

Having a negative opinion about Islamic ideology is not tantamount to white supremacy/alt right affiliation etc.

Anyone white guy who isn't a super left-leaning, and has a somewhat edgy sense of humour is an alt right Nazi these days, apparently.

The amount of disinformation in this thread is hiiiiilarious.

Calling Joe Rogan or Jordan Peterson racist is just idiotic and also not very well thought out.

Give me an example of how they have been racist?

Joe Rogan is one of the worlds best interviewers. He gets all kinds of guests on to discuss different topics and that includes controversial ones who he will often disagree with. Dialogue is the key to every conflict not ignoring it. He is not dumb.

Jordan Peterson is literally the opposite of racist. He bases his talks on human psychology, philosophy and scientific literature. He is also not dumb.

When was the last time Rogan invited a Muslim to talk about Islam/Muslims...

His and his audience's only exposure of Islam and Muslims has been through the likes of Milo, Sam Nuke All Muslim Harris, Ayan Islam is the Problem Hirsi Ali, Ben 90% of all muslims are radicals Shaprio, etc. etc.

Except when you single Islam and Muslims out as something uniquely evil and out there when compared to all other religion and their adherents and this is something most of Rogan's guest commenting on Islam do.

Actually he has had Majid Nawaz on. So if someone hasn't brought on enough muslim guests they are automatically racist? Who do you think he should bring on to discuss?

Show me where he singles out Islam? He isn't very fond of any religious extremists or religious intolerance, whether it is Islam or Christianity.

More examples of muslim guests on his show include Firas Zahabi and Kamaru Usman

and even more:
Maz Jobrani
Mike Tyson
Dave Chappelle will be on soon.

And the whole PewdiPie thing is a joke/meme. Thats what it so crazy about this guy. He is almost half joking with a lot of these things while carrying out a Massacre. For example he was playing Initial D music while driving his car to almost give a shout out to that show. Also mentioning Candace Owen as one of his biggest inspirations even though she is black.

Which guest was this?

If they said it about Islam, then that's okay because on ideology is up to scrutiny. But to paint all Muslims (who are people) with the same brush is definitely wrong.

Again he didn't invite them to discuss Islam.

How about he invites Muslim intellectuals and political thinkers and discusses geo-political issues concerning Muslims and Islam rather than exclusively delegating the the narrative to alt right nutters to misinform and brain wash his listeners.

Just recently he invited another British disciple of Dawkins and discussed how everyone has to be very careful about talking about Islam, while he and his guest proceed to mock Mehdi Hassan's response to Dawkins during their famous debate/exchange where the former stated that he believed in miracles in response to Dawkins incredulity that somebody in this day and age would believe in the story of Prophet's night journey (miraage).

Paul Joseph Watson is a white supremacist. If he is followed by Pew then it does raise a lot of questions.

Just because a racist follows a public personality, the public personalty becomes Racist.

The racist idiot might have other non-racially motivated interests, which might be fulfilled by this public personality.

The same reason he doesn't invite christian thinkers or scientology thinkers or hindu thinkers. He doesn't believe in religion or care for it. He is more concerned with geo politics of his own country.

lol. Majid Nawaz is anti Muslim.

Have not idea who this chap is but Joe Rogan has allowed a lot of anti Muslim and anti Islam sentiments to be aired. He knows his combat sports and is pretty clued on other subject but when it comes to religion and politics, he is thick as a plank.

Majid Nawaz is anti muslim how?

Majid Nawaz is anti muslim how?

A quick search would explain.

He has tweeted offensive cartoons of the Prophet(pbuh). Abused Muslim organistions. Stands up with Israeli Zionists. Has freinds such as Sam Harris who are openly anti Islam. Takes money from government to promote their anti muslim propaganda. And much more.

Majid Nawaz is a reformist Muslim. He wants Islam to adopt to the current times.

Married Muslim men with strippers isnt a type of reform which 99.999% of Muslims would accept.
troodon Let's continue here.

Majid is a reformist Muslim. If you do not know this, watch all of husbands videos on YouTube.

Of course, for people like you, he is an Israeli Agent.

lol I dont need to watch youtube videos. People like me? Please explain and also respond to my post regarding him being a married man going to strip clubs and then you claiming he is a reformer?

As for Israel

The British activist who went from radical Islam to staunch Israel ally

Is this also reform? lol

Ive read his book, he's definitely not anti muslim, he actually claims to be muslim.

He may have different opinions on issues surrounding islam and muslims but that doesn't make him anti muslim.

I hold some views that go against traditional islamic teachings but I wouldn't call myself anti muslim :/

I also hold a lot of views which go against traditional Islamic teachings, I wouldn't call myself anti-Muslim either. But if I went on talk shows and appeared on tv shows which are put together by those who wish to cast Muslims in a predominantly negative light, I would call myself anti-Muslim.

I've listed specific points which argue he is anti Muslim but you sir have read his book!

thanks for reminding me, some of your views on the religion written on here were absurd, agreed.

Keep his personal life aside. I have seen tons of videos of him in Youtube and clearly he is someone who wants to reform Islam. He supports moderate friendly version of Islam where Muslims can do everything a westerner does and still remains a Muslim.

Majid criticizes the stuff that religious nuts preach and defends Islam when it comes to right wing outfits who want Islam out of Europe.

What reform? What is a moderate friendly version of Islam? And can do what westerners do and still be Muslim?

Since you have watched youtube videos, please explain in detail.

From what I get, moderate Muslims are the one who do not want to impose Sharia law. Apostates and gays are accepted and no stoning for adultery. Muslim women are given full rights as men and they can work and mingle with men from opposite sex (irrespective of religion) in a corporate environment. Burqa and hijab are optional and nothing should be forced on individuals and nobody can enforce their views and give fatwas and stamps on who a good Muslim or Muslima is.

Of course, the above things may not be acceptable to hardcore muslims who do not wan

1. Sharia law alreadly exists in the UK and in many places throughout the world.

2. Islam is against the act of homosexuality. This can never be changed.

3. Muslim women have all the rights they need and have had these rights long before the secular world gave women rights, hundreds of years before.

4. Covering yourself is always down to ones personal view.

Thanks for trying but I really cant be replying to such daft points again.

You could describe 90% of the Muslims in the UK like that, but they wouldn't appear on show and print media which are designed to (subtly) stoke Islamophobia. What Maaajid used to do was present the view that there were huge hordes of potential terrorists in every city to a white media that lapped it up, especially since he claimed to have been a former fundamentalist himself.

Sharia exists in UK? Where? Please explain.

You saying homosexuality is against Islam. Hence the reform is needed.

The reform that Islam brought was only good for 7th century Arabia. Modern day daughters get everything equal what sons get in inheritance. Also a woman's witness is equal to a man's witness which is not true in Islam.

Muslim woman in Sharia cannot step out without a male guardian and have to wear a minimum Hijab in Islamic countries that adopted Sharia Law.

Covering is strictly enforced in Saudi, Iran and many other Islamic countries. Brunei joined the league in 2016.

My point about Majid was only to highlight that he is a reformist. He wants a much milder version of Islam which works like milk and water with Western values.

Sharia Law doesn't make sense. Sharia itself means law. Secondly, the ACT of homosexuality is prohibited not having gay feelings. Also talking about reform, It's like saying "let's accept adultery, IT'S 2019." It doesn't work like that. Adultry will always be considered morally bad. Likewise, Homosexuality is considered morally bad and will stay like that.

Nobody should be stoned for Adultery or homosexuality. It may be immoral for a Muslim. But it should be accepted and anyone who does not like adultery should get a divorce. Law of the land should take the precedence over Sharia which has no place in 2019. No lashing or stoning for adultery and homosexuality.

My point about Majid was only to highlight that he is a reformist. He wants a much milder version of Islam which works like milk and water with Western values.

My point was that lots of people prefer a much milder form of Islam, even in Islamic countries that is the case, which is why Islamic parties have never fared well in Pakistani elections. Maaajid became a willing tool for Islamophobic media with his well timed scaremongering in the same way racist images of immigrant waves were used to engineer Brexit.

Pride in one's race shouldn't be confused with supremacy. For example, I am proud of my indian genes, while knowng that as a race we are not superior to many and we are called buzdil qaum.

Do you accept the buzdil qoum tag personally?

Ben Shapiro and Sam Harris to say the least.

Ben Shapiro is a hypocrite, the Old Testament is just as violent as Islam, but Islamic countries are more fundamentalist than Israel, so that kind of gives him ammunition.

Sam Harris criticises Islam like he does all religions, he has just said that Islamic extremism is more dangerous in the recent years. Many Muslims do need to realise that all aspects of their religion can be scrutinised (like every religion).
