Do you think Pakistan could have chased this total if it wasn't for rain?

I know most of our fans have the memory of a fish and most likey have already forgotten how terrible our batting lineup is so just to put things in perspective despite the rain saving us this team needs major overhaul.

No way in hell we would have chased this total. Like always these players would have found a way to lose from a winning position.

Yes, we would have limped across the finish line with Malik scoring an unbeaten half-century.

I am confident we would have chased the score down. Malik was going good and Babar was starting to find form.

I am never confident till we actually doing, but i will take the win.

Most probably would have chased it.

But you never know. Tahir could get a couple of quick wickets and the pressure will be right back on Pak.

Morkel was the danger man, he went for runs in his final over before the rain and only had 3 over left. Pak were favourites to cross the line this time.

Yes, only Morkel looked like taking wickets and even he was done by last over. RRR was 4.4 which is perfect for this batting line up.

Pakistan would have chased it but would have lots of trouble maybe win the game by 2 wickets or so

We would have easily done it. I was at the stadium watching the match. We were only bothered with Morkel and he only had 3 left. He also got hit for 2 fours in his last over. Pakistan were playing Morris, Parnell and Rabada ok and their bowling was not particularly dangerous.

Most likely - 85% we would have won.

Obviously you never know with Pakistan if they lost a quick wicket but there was enough batting to pull this off comfortably .

In side 45 overs - out of 3 wickets, PAK actually lost couple of tail-enders. 100 in 23 overs with Rabada/Morne done for 7 each - don't think, it would have been worse than 220/4 (44'3).

Most likely, we had crossed that ugly part of tuk tuk without losing much wickets, we were attacking their best bowler. It was easy walk ahead.

Soutj Africa were flatten by counter attack from Malik and Babar joined him too. Would have crawled to 48th-49th over win.

Yeah would have won having lost around 7 or 8 wickets.

Yes - we would have won quite easily by 6 or 7 wickets.

In hindsight - DL method hindered us since under normal circumstances - we could have accelerated towards the end and boosted our NRR.

pakistan were likely to win , as Morkel was the only bowler who troubled them , he only had three overs left.

Yes, they would have chased it somehow. All XI players could hold a bat.

Probably but not without its fair share of drama, a couple of quick wickets and SA would've been right back in the game with Pakistan's innings suffocating under pressure setting the stage for an embarrassing loss from a position of strength, you just never know with Pakistan cricket, they're notorious for self-destruction and making things difficult for themselves owing to the pressure. So in all likeliness, we got lucky to steal the 2 valuable points and credit goes to Malik's quick cameo to put Pakistan upfront after Hafeez sucked the momentum with his selfish play. Anyway everything said and done, will gladly take a win regardless of how it comes, however we're yet to see a complete performance from Pakistan in this tournament, maybe its against SL we deliver our best performance on all fronts keeping in mind our dominance over them.

listening to one of the experts on TV the other day.. the longer the match will go the less chance pakistanis have.

Never put anything past Pakistan. Tahir could have been a handful. Also guys like ABDV can pull off run outs out of nowhere. Pakistan has suffered embarrassing collapses against SA. Those are better pakistani sides than this.

Only 100 runs were required with 7 wickets in hand and 23 overs (132 balls) to go.

We would have won with ease.

You can never be confident when it comes to Pakistan chasing tricky totals, "winning with ease" isn't Pakistan's cup of tea and they are bound to make you nervous by creating a drama along the way. Lucky we got away with it and secured two valuable points, thanks to rain and Malik's agile knock to put us ahead of D/L, of course it could've panned out differently for Pakistan had it not for washout.

It could've, we would never know. However, going by present situation Babar had found form and Malik was seeing like it a football.

Yeah maybe 50-50 in that case! Imran might have picked a wkt or 2 to put them under pressure imad and company can't bat.

yes but we would have trundles across the line probably 220-6 after 47 overs.
