I was just reading an article and it said:

“Moreover, it is also learnt that former captain Shoaib Malik could be included in the ODI team against Zimbabwe or Sri Lanka. Though Shoaib is a seasoned campaigner, he had failed to impress anyone despite performing inconsistently in domestic matches. But a certain lobby in the board is now trying to convince Shaharyar to recall Shoaib despite him not scoring a 50 in the last 11 One-day Inter*nationals.”

Do you think Shoaib Malik should be included in the team?

dawn people are mad , first saying grand plan to get kami and malik in team and now this , dont they have anything else to do.

Shoaib Malik's superfan?

Say NO to Malik, Kamran, Gul, Tanvir. Enough of these TTFs.

Dr.Nauman said this a few days ago on his show that plans are being hatched to bring back Shoaib Malik as captain

hate to say but the way things are panning out surely Malik is coming back for sure . PCB doesnt have **** to sustain him out of team if loss keeps coming our way and if that happens then azhar ali should kiss his captaincy era goodbye !! and with Mailk back and if back as captain then surely many more TTFs are coming back too !!!

If he's struggling to perform consistently in domestic cricket, then who in their right mind would expect him to play well in a higher standard of cricket ?

cant wait to see him return. We could see the first ODI triple hundred if he really gets going..legend..

S.Malik averages about 20 in his lat 10 ODI's. The worst thing is
that some of those ODI's were against Zimbabwe.

I would much rather see us persist with Rizwan, Nasim, Aslam, Maqsood, Alam, Haris and possibly even bring back Umar Akmal.

Was a big Malik fan in the past, but age is not on his side now and he never really made the most of the several comeback opportunities he had. Time to move on!

No unless he does something spectacular in domestic cricket. There are young players who performed domestically in line.

Yes. I would also prefer him over Fawad Alam.

Pakistan's mistake was that usually batted him at number 6 is too low. He should bat at number 5 and if anything promoted up the order because he takes time to settle before accelerating. He is not someone who can accelerate immediately.

Need to remember he is a very good fielder (which has been terrible for Pakistan recently) and offers 6th bowling option.

Will take him over Nasim. I like Nasim, he's a decent utility cricketer but Malik offers more.

Well on merit he deserves to be selected as he has been phenomenal in domestic cricket scoring like 8 50+ consecutive scores.

But we all know PP members do not like Malik and that's a different story altogether.

On top of that Malik has been very consistent in domestic including the Pentangular cup. But we all know how biased people here are and yet talk about selection on merit. Pakistani fans Masha'Allah.

He should be brought back as Captain.

Shoaib Malik over Azhar Ali anyday.

 its the above sort of thinking over last 8 years which has caused pakistan to be in the mess its in now! no more TTFs for god sake!

He should not allowed in NCA even if we lose to ZIM 3-0.
No Shoaib, No Kamran and many others .... Ever.
I think our current squad is fine ......... just have sohaib back. (may be umar and shehzad)
Find a good right arm bowler and just let them play for another 1-2 years.

Malik probably won't feature with the bat, and won't bowl either. Seems he's here as a specialist fielder

He should call it a day now.

He's obviously a fringe player now. His batting isn't really up to the mark these days and he rarely bowls.

You can't have someone in the side just because they can run between the wickets well and are a good fielder.

With Zimbabwe around the corner, don't expect to see him gone anytime soon.

Yes but this is pakistan cricket and our players dont go quietly of their own accord

The question needs to be put to misbah why is he in the team saj if hes not gonna bat or bowl? Hes wasting a place for someone more deserving

The media should be asking this question to misbah until they get an answer

Perfect time to give confidence to the youngsters and play them against a weaker side only one of hafeez and malik should play !

Has too niche a role. T20 specialist only. Can't play up the order against pace. Can't hit down the order, and situations like the recent match is demoted as a result. Yet his overall record is good, he's clearly a reliable T20 bat.

He might make our T20 line up currently slightly stronger especially in Asia. But there's no future, and he has no place in ODIs.

Honestly don't think it matters if he's in the side or not. I'd lean towards removing him. But really he's not the problem with the line up. Fakhar's form, poor bowling and Rizwan/Sarfraz's batting struggles. These are the big problems. There's few real great talents to come into the team right now who have dominated in domestic and ideally at the PSL. Might actually be better for Haider if he's the only youngster, thus less pressure on him, he's not competing with someone else for his spot. We've failed in recent years to blood in new batting talent into the T20 side, Asif Ali, Talat, Farhan, Faheem are just some who it just hasn't worked for.

What a selfish man. I have lost all respect for him. He cost us WC 19 and is now costing us games on the regular.

Wait till his one performance of a quick fire 30.

Will always remember him as a selfish coward.

Asif ali is a domestic sensation but international flop
Talat is average in t20s doesnt have the power game.

Career crossroads now.

Decision time for Malik and whilst it will be a difficult decision for him, he should make one that benefits Pakistan cricket.

If he plays in the series against Zimbabwe then its garrtanted he will play in the t20 world cup in india

Therez been plenty of these cross roads for malik which hes crossed and continued along his merry way playing intnl cricket for pakistan

If he had pakistan cricket benefits in mind he wouldve retired from all formats years ago

He wont be going anywhere of his own accord..yet. Hes definetly set his eyes on playing the t20 world cup come what may

I think it’s ok to have him in the squad, but him and Hafeez shouldn’t be in the same XI.

I think he should be given a farewell game against Zimbabwe (just one game). That should be his last game.
