Does Asif Ali's method of hitting the ball remind you of Abdul Razzaq?

Razzaq used to come in the last 10 overs and take Pakistan to a good total with some clean hits. He did not score many 100s for obvious reasons but he played several crucial 40s and 50s when the team needed acceleration.

Asif Ali seems to be doing the same job. There is something in his personality too that strongly resembles Razzaq. Does he remind you of Abdul Razzaq too?

Afridi is a tulle baz, not Abdul Razzaq. Razzaq could bat according to the demands of the team and match situation

We need to have more expectations from our number 6 batsman and should expect him to consistently play long innings. This is Misbah era mentality that we shall bat for 4 rpo for 40 overs and then 10 rpo for the last 10.

Razzaq had a high backlift and liked to move his front leg out of the way. He had hard hands and preferred to hit through the line. Asif has a low backlift and softer hands and probably has a bigger range of shots.

One more thing common about them is that both are brutal vs pacers but below average vs spin in razzaq case hopeless,,, which is very uncommon for a Pakistani player who's bread and butter is bashing spinners.

Both are completely different batsmen. Asif Ali doesn't seem to resemble anyone else that I know of but he's doing his job well as a batsman who can inflate our total.

Which shows you that he is a proper batsman who could develop into a decent middle order bat for Pakistan. Razzaq was only used for his six hitting ability and nothing else.

But in his earlier years (especially domestic) Razzaq was always used as a fast bowler who could bat a bit.

Doesn't remind me of anyone, but adds much needed power hitting ability to a previously one dimensional batting lineup heavily reliant on Fakhar Zaman for fast paced knocks.

I'd like to see him open in T20s - there's zero point in saving one of your best powerhitters down the order given there's only 120 balls in an innings.
