How long are we going to count positives till they actually transpire to a result. We have been counting these bloody positives since the south africa tour but we are yet to see anything come in the form of a win. I mean are we a minnow nation that takes pride on winning a game out of 10 matches? Anytime we lose, these ridiculous statements comeout from the cpt and coach such as 'winning the series isnt important' ' we hate losing'. Ohh well then bloody start winning then. One thing i know is that until you dont win games, all these positives ** can take a back seat.

Disappointing to see such a great cricketing nation to fall down to such mediocry. I was hopeful to see imran khan elected as PM to bring about changes but this tenure is even worse while some of the decisions taken for pakistan cricket is even shocking.

I hope we the cornered tigers can make a turnaround but from the inside i feel that is not to happen. I HOPE I GET PROVED WRONG!!!

For Sarfraz fans yes.

Now they can use this innings to justify his place until 2023

Don't worry we will still count them.

Softens the blow till the next failure.

A section of our fans were doing a victory lap in the match thread when it became clear that England will not be scoring 400 today. That is the mentality of our fans today. However, I don't think it is entirely their fault - that is what 15 years of mediocrity does to you.

Yes we are a minnow nation now, so we will count the positives. I used to hate when people did that, but i do it myself now.

In 50 overs we are a minnow for sure.

It's been evident for the last 2 years

Been absolutely pummeled by the likes of New Zealand, India, England and Australia

I don't really rate this Pakistan side to be honest, so there have been some positives for me personally. Sarfraz got a bit of form with the bat, the openers are in good nick, and I finally saw Imad turn some off spinners, even if it was on a minute scale. I still think Pakistan might produce a surprise result against a big team.

This was not a 450 pitch but easily a 375 to 400 one.

England fell by trying too hard to score 450 odd runs and in the end shot themselves by scoring slightly below par 350.

Pakistan can only chase such a score if Fakhar gets a start. Once Fakhar was back in the hut in 3 balls, the fate of this match had been decided.

Nice of Babar and Sarfraz to cash on their personal milestone plus performances though. I thought Sarfraz batted well for a change but it was obvious he was never going to be able to chase 350.

There are way too many negatives to weigh against the positives. Positives mainly are choti choti khushiyan only.

We're all set to play minnow malang cricket in the World Cup and may well cause an upset in a game or two. Pak-SL-Afg-WI will have their own little bottom-of-the-table World Cup.

Winning obviously matters but it doesn't mean you can't take positives from competing with the bat against the best team in the world.

Honestly with so many warmup games and this england series a win is compulsory but such has been the heights of our calibre that we are able to graps defeat from the jaws of victory.

I personally feel that our players do not take pride in playing for pakistan and how will you when players make their way into the team with minimal effort. Hasnain and shaheen being prime example. As soon as we hear about a raw talent, rather than nurture it we drag him into the team with these bunch of crooks so called management. Anyone giving a performance consistently is given a middle finger. Anyone who is raw we start counting he positives.

Micky i hope is done with cricket, this guy has been worse when it comes politics. No one deserves such a agenda based coach

Our batting has been good to avg in the last few series. How much do we need to weigh on the good starts. We need to kill games.. finish it when it matters

It's really all we have now. Loss after loss influences this line of thought.

No we don't need any positives heading into the world cup. I mean what's the difference if we any of our batsman or bowlers perform, if we're going to lose this close to the world cup everyone might as well surrender.

Our firepower is weak at the end. Asif has done decently hitting two fifties but Malik hasn't done enough.

Big positive for me was that Pakistan got to play a very tough series against England before the world cup. Ideal preparation and hopefully we will have learned a lot from it. At least we now know that scores of 300 aren't going to be good enough so the tempo has to increase when batting.

Trust me mate just before the worldcup these lot will.go back onto the meagre SR and score 250-260 and by the time our last game agaisnt bd ends which will be another loss to them, micky will be counting positives again while sarfarz thanking us stupid fans for our support and inzi will be clarifying 'k jonsa sab ko chance diya tha'

Exactly my thoughts tbh, as a hardcpre pakistan fan i cant see this team win even 4 games. Other teams dont even need so many games to aclimitise

At the end of the day it's about winning. Yes there were some positives but we need to look at the reality that we cannot compete on flat pitches. Yes we all want to see a balance between bat and ball. But we don't have that . So let's accept the reality.

Yeah you can't blame them, they think "oh we didn't concede 481 like the mighty Australia did, so we're doing really well".

We are minnows. Let us enjoy these small victories. When Afghanistan compete in matches their fans get happy. Same with us. Pakistan is a minnow and has been for years and so may aswell just embrace the good moments.

Thats all we do under Mickey Arthur, count the positives. God forbid if the WC goes all wrong, he will still be counting the positives. The PCB knows by now that they will move the man on and start afresh

Tbf micky has been given a fair enough chance. Whats disappointing is that we had seen a bit of micky's coaching when he started as the karachi kings coach in psl 16 and we should have known that micky is nothing special. All his bakwas about fitness n all has meant to nothjng. What matters is skills and execution. When it has mattered the most, the whole team has been found wanting. Ypu can huff and puff all day long in front of the cameras but the geniuses in pcb should have kicked him out after the numerous failures he has led us too. Sarfaraz should be kicked our because he's a dummy cpt, he can skipper a nadeem omar side but when it comes to pak, all his fresh ideas have gone into the bin

Micky can only count the positives and give players homeworks. I hope this is his last stint as a coach in any capacity. This guy should not even coach a club side.

Just adding a few more positives from the recently concluded ODI series vs England:

1. Imam has proved his critics yet again
2. Sarfaraz has hit form at the right time
3. Faheem has been found out
4. Babar continues to be the back bone
