Does the choice of domestic captains for 2019/20 season represent PCB's vision for the future?

So we have (apart from Sarfaraz)

Babar Azam, Haris Sohail, Shan Masoon, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Rizwan as captains of domestic sides.

So can we assume that PCB have identified these players as future captains for Pakistan?

Imad Wasim shouldn’t be captain, especially when he doesn’t even want to play Test Cricket. Other than that they are good appointments.

But it isn’t right to give someone who isn’t fully committed to the longer format of the game captaincy. Sends a poor message to others.

Think of it as a litmus test. Let’s see how the next domestic season goes and what we learn from it...but it is better to give captaincy to players who are expected to be the first 15

Out of those lot, only Imad and Shan seem like genuine captaincy material.

It would be interesting to see how the other 3 do, but I don't expect much from them.

Haris and Babar are the only players who have their place in tests cemented for now.

But, they are some decent candidates who can stake a claim.

Shan has a big chance to impress if he can score and lead from the front.

Why not? He could still be a specialist ODI captain.

You need separate captains for different captains. Imad is the right player to captain in OD and 20 20.

Imad Wasim isn't committed to playing test cricket so difficult to understand why he is even playing a 4 day competition never mind being made captain. I like Rizwan but he won't captain Pakistan.

I like the other 4 selections. Haris may not captain Pakistan but he could be a VC .
