If you look at the gti from 2016, it states Pakistan at 4 and places like Syria, somalia, yemen below..Bangladesh, Israel and Palestine are even lower. It allmost looks like the whole thing is rigged doesn't make any sense. Below is the wikipedia source.

Pakistan’s control over north western province is symbolic and it’s border to Afghanistan is world’s biggest base of terrorists. Also one needs to consider mainland Pakistan sits as a cushion in between India and that area, which has actually ‘reduced’ India’s cost of anti-terrorism efforts. Considering the fact that most of Pakistan sponsored terrorism is actually being ‘sponsored’ by Saudi Arabia (and China lately), needs to be also taken into account. I believe the below index is flawed..

China? Wow, I never knew. China is quite underreported here (considering their relevance).

Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan and Somalia are literally war zones, why India and Pakistan are ranked so high? Even if there is unrest in India, it is mostly limited to a few regions like Kashmir unlike let's says Somalia where the Government has no power and bandit gangs are ruling various parts of the territories. Same for Pakistan, not every part of the country is FATA.

Central African Republic, Congo, Niger are another violent wastelands with lowest human civilization, it's a travesty that India and Pakistan are ranked higher.

The ranking don't make sense to me at all, yes Pakistan is battling terrorism yet there is no way that it should be worse than the likes of Syria, Yemen, Somalia

I am actually surprised India is so high up on this list.

Istanbul church attack: Gunmen kill one person during Sunday morning mass

One person has been killed in an attack by masked gunmen on a Catholic church in Istanbul. Local media also reported several injuries.

The shooting happened at the church of Santa Maria during Sunday morning mass at around 11:40 local time (08:40 GMT).

Turkey's interior minister has condemned the "vile attack" and said an investigation has been launched. Police are still searching for the suspects.

The motive for the attack was not immediately clear.

The Pope offered his support after the attack, expressing his "closeness to the community of the Santa Maria Draperis Church" at the end of his weekly prayer at the Vatican.

Worshippers were attending the mass when two gunmen, reportedly wearing ski masks, entered the 19th Century church and opened fire.

The Turkish interior minister, Ali Yerlikaya, said that an individual identified as CT - who was among those attending Sunday's service - had died in the attack.

He said that the authorities were working to capture the assailants, who fled the scene after the shooting.

Local media report that several other worshippers were injured before the attackers got away.

The mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu, condemned the attack. In a post on X he said: "We will never allow those who try to disrupt our unity and peace by attacking the places of faith in our city."

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also expressed condolences over the attack and said that "necessary steps" were being taken to hunt down the killers.

you guys do know that by putting Israel at number 1 in that list you are implying it is the greatest victim of terrorist activity?

the ranking is compiled by putting a weighted average on the amount of terror attacks in each country and how many people die. the countries at the top of this list are those which have the weakest protection against terroriststs, not those who commit the most terror attacks (as countries never admit to that).

Yes, its nonsense. What is more important is who are the biggest terrorist, only then can terrorism stop.

Even if we go by the the list in the OP, the terrorists who made these attacks are mostly mercenaries paid to do this by the powers I mentioned in my list. Others who attack foriegn invaders are simply freedom fighters even if some of their methods are inhumane, against their faith etc, this doesnt take away their right of defence.

In recent times, terrorist activity has increased and there is no doubt about the fact that Pakistan will be among the top 5 soon.
