Yeah.. lol apparently his fans are flocking to newsmax, big scale conservative media is over.

President Donald Trump went on a Twitter tirade against Fox News on Thursday morning, escalating recent attacks against his long preferred cable network.

".@FoxNews daytime ratings have completely collapsed. Weekend daytime even WORSE," Trump tweeted.

"Very sad to watch this happen, but they forgot what made them successful, what got them there."

Trump also said the network "forgot the Golden Goose," possibly a reference to himself.

"The biggest difference between the 2016 Election, and 2020, was @FoxNews!" he said.

Insider's Tom LoBianco and Lucia Moses reported last month that Jared Kushner, Trump's senior advisor and son-in-law, was floating the idea of a Trump-branded media outlet. Axios reported on Thursday that the president was now looking into starting his own digital media company to get revenge against Fox News.

Trump has had an on-again, off-again relationship with Fox News — the president regularly live-tweets its programs and tweets clips of guests or hosts praising him, but he has also been critical of the network.

Election week was more of a turning point. The White House and the Trump campaign lashed out against the network for calling Arizona for Joe Biden on Tuesday night. And Fox News' calling the election for Biden on Saturday shortly after the other major networks only made things worse in Trumpworld.

Trump retweeted several Twitter users on Thursday morning. A few said they wanted to switch from Fox News to Newsmax, a less widely distributed but more explicitly pro-Trump network.

Another user put it more bluntly.

"#Foxnews is dead," they said.

Guess the sons are bored or it could be a way of launching Trump media?

I think you've hit the nail.

Trump TV will be next with at least three to four mainstays of Fix heading it up

Believe it or not, I posted this in a different thread weeks ago. He is going to go off and launch his own channel.

I’ll go even further now to say his entire goal of getting into politics and running or president was based off of Fox business model and he wanted to use that model to get into this business and start an empire of his own. There is not as much money in being the president. But what it does have is a ready made and well established base that will pay premium price for a trumptv channel to get their one sided “news” fix. They love this stuff and trump knows it.

Well to the second age of demagoguery!

Those are and were his intentions. However I don’t know if he has a discipline to run a business. He is a great showman. But there is a business side to it. He has failed in all his businesses

I agree. He will fail here too. He will try to be the new Fox but Fox is OG. I don’t think he has the star power to go against the combined might of hannity, Carlson, etc.

He has failed at it pretty much everything he does, so I am sure this won’t be any different.

CNN and MSNBC had much better coverage of the election than Fox, even conservatives I know watched CNN/NBC for election coverage cause John King, Wornacki, Cuomo and the younger dude I forgot his name did an excellent job with their real time analysis.

Wonder what triggered the change for Fox?

Fell out with Murdoch maybe? Or perhaps Fox saw which was the wind was blowing. The Sun has switched sides three times that I know of.

Seems he wants to start his own media empire. Does not have discipline or smarts to run any business. He is a failed businessman

No, he is just mad at them for calling the election in Biden’s favor and making the call on Arizona early (also in Biden’s favor) and they both happened to be the right calls.

Murdoch knows he is still in the business of news and was able to accept that Trump lost. There is really no point in continuing to argue childishly that the results are still debatable pending investigation or whatever. There are no investigations to be had.

Basically Fox calling it as they see it irked trump who thought they will keep peddling his conspiracy theories filth.

Fox News is a regular conservative network. Trump represents an entirely different version of conservatism (Alt-Right). So, this conflict was always likely.

Donald Trump continued to gravitate towards his new rightwing media allies at TV channels One America Network and Newsmax on Tuesday, even as heavyweight supporters Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson and Rush Limbaugh distanced themselves from the president’s attempts to overturn his election defeat by Joe Biden.

On Fox News on Monday, Ingraham said: “Unless the legal situation changes in a dramatic and unlikely manner, Joe Biden will be inaugurated on 20 January.”

Carlson claimed “the 2020 election was not fair”, but admitted Trump had lost it.

On his radio show, Limbaugh attacked Trump’s lawyers in Pennsylvania, led by Rudy Giuliani, for failing to provide any evidence to back claims of voter fraud in the state.

“You announce massive bombshells,” he said, “then you better have some bombshells.”

On Tuesday morning, Trump pinned Carlson’s monologue to his Twitter page. But he also retweeted a string of messages by Randy Quaid. In one, the actor echoed Carlson’s claims about trust in election infrastructure, demanding “an in-person-only-paper ballot re-vote”.

“Are you listening, Republicans?” Trump tweeted.

But in another message, shot in extreme close-up and flashing light and spoken in bizarrely hammy tones, Quaid quoted an old Trump tweet: “Fox News daytime ratings have completely collapsed. Weekend daytime, even worse. Very sad to watch this happen.

“But they forgot … they forgot what made them successful. What got them there. They forgot the golden goose. The only difference between the 2016 election and 2020 is Fox News.”

Trump has made many such claims about Fox News’ failings. Fox News has disputed his claims about ratings. On Tuesday, a spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

One America News and Newsmax are devoted to supporting Trump. With a move into television among Trump’s possible post-White House plans, both are increasingly under the spotlight.

Newsmax has enjoyed ratings growth and mainstream attention, including a Wall Street Journal report which said Trump allies had considered a buyout.

OAN remains a fringe operator but on Monday, the Daily Beast reported that one host, Christina Bobb, had been working on the Trump team’s legal challenges.

“Christina is an attorney and has helped with some legal work in her personal capacity and not on behalf of OAN,” Jenna Ellis, a Trump adviser, told the Beast.

Ellis made her own headlines on Monday. Speaking to MSNBC, she said: “President Trump won by a landslide.”

“Take a pause,” host Ari Melber interjected. “If you make false statements, you don’t run roughshod. You made a false accusation.”

Trump lost Georgia by around 12,000 votes, Pennsylvania by around 80,000 and Michigan by more than 150,000. Biden won the national popular vote by 6m and the electoral college by 306-232. On Monday, Trump allowed the transition to proceed but continued to make baseless claims of fraud and insist he would be proved the winner.

Trump is certainly suffering one landslide defeat: in election-related lawsuits. According to the Democratic elections lawyer Marc Elias, the president has won one such case – and lost 35.

Who will Trump turn on to now?

===

Newsmax, the pro-Trump media platform that gained a wave of new viewers after refusing to recognize the president’s electoral defeat, said it was ready to accept reality and will refer to Biden as the president-elect.

“As a result of the Electoral College vote Joe Biden is the president-elect and will be referred to as such on Newsmax,” a spokesperson for the media company told The Hill. “We also recognize President Trump continues to contest the results and we will cover aspects of that news story.”

Newsmax is one of the few media outlets that did not project Biden as the winner in the days following the 3 November election. They touted that as a point of distinction from networks like Fox News, which declared Biden the president-elect along with other mainstream news outlets and networks.

The decision sparked outrage from viewers and the president, who was already furious at the network for being one of the first media organizations to call Arizona for Biden. A group of the president’s supporters announced a boycott of Fox News and other outlets and turned to pro-Trump sites like Newsmax, which reported record viewership in the days and weeks following the election.

It’s unclear how viewers will respond to their decision to refer to Biden as the president-elect. But the move is a further blow to Trump’s public pressure campaign to delegitimize the election result.
