Dr. Imran Farooq (MQM) killed in London (2 men charged)

Sigh!!!! and then people cry, moan and complain about the dwindling state of Pakistan. Terrorists are being formally voted into government by their sympathizers.

and to top it all, they fail to realize the organization they are claiming is here to stay has leaders hiding out in foreign countries.. how is that different from al qaeda and the taliban.. anybody know the whereabouts of Mullah Omar and Bin Laden?

Bumped into Altaf Hussain in Mahiki once and he was with a guy who'd look exactly like Bin Laden if he had a beard and wasn't wearing an $8000 suit. :13: :13:

Maybe Altaf Bhai was trying to convince bin Ladn to hand himself over to the authorities... :)

Altaf, cry for your little buddy but yet when YOU start mass-murdering your Karachi-ites its fine ?

Now you know how it feels,we need snap elections right now and kick all these imbeciles out.

2013 is gonna be the biggest year in Pak history, when the tenures of Zardari,Gilani(they'll probably stick around),CJ and Kayani end.We are so bad at making transitions.

BTW,why do Sindhis, especially these ''disillusioned MQM supporters (LOL)'' bash MQM ? You voted for him, you're reaping the rewards.

Well its peace right now because MQM is in power.. if you dont vote for them and put them in office, they start slaughtering people.. So what can you do?

We might as well continue our military dictatorship with Zia/Musharraf,purge the judiciary again and ban the press since we're still being ruled by facist thugs who rule by gun.

What irks me is that they blackmail and threaten their populace....then say in public 'We need democracy to work'' !

:)))

I'm shocked to know people actually HATE Karachi because of a political party!! :O
I mean..how can someone HATE a city in your country?!
I hate all the political parties in Pakistan..Does that mean I hate Pakistan??

MQM is bad ? What abt their rivals ? they dont do anything against them , parties , army , intel ? I hate them all , army in particular .

Farooq sattar says whole country is sad for him.
whole country says who is he?

Three MQM terrorists arrested for Dr. Imran Farooq Murder

ISLAMABAD – The murder case of MQM convener Dr Imran Farooq is nearing its conclusion as the secret agencies nabbed three suspects in Pakistan some days back, while the British police conducted raids in London on Thursday.
Khalid Shamim, who also belongs to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is said to be the mastermind of Dr Imran’s murder, and two other youth were reportedly arrested form Karachi a few days back. And presumably, taking action on the leads from the arrested suspects in Pakistan, the Scotland Yard Thursday conducted raids in London. Some 35 police officials participated in the operation wherein they seized documents and other items from a house and an office. However, no arrests were made in the raids as both the places had already been abandoned.
Sources revealed that Khalid Shamim was given the task of killing Dr Imran Farooq in London. He sought the help of a man named Hammad Siddiqi, who provided him two boys both of whom belonged to All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organisation. Khalid Shamim arranged student visas for both these boys. The two youth met an unidentified man in London who briefed them about the routine of Dr Imran, and they killed him near his house on September 16, 2010.
After the murder, both the killers left for Colombo instead of coming to Pakistan. After reaching there, they contacted the mastermind Khalid Shamim, who advised them to reach Pakistan. A secret agency recorded all the conversation between Shamim and the killers and kept the former under strict watch. Shamim had also planned to murder both these boys as soon as they would reach Karachi.
The agencies arrested both the young killers when they reached Karachi from Colombo and shifted them to Rawalpindi whereas contacts were also made with the MQM for handing over Khalid Shamim.
Meanwhile, President Zardari and Altaf Hussain also talked about this issue wherein the latter expressed his displeasure over the issue. A high profile official of the agencies contacted Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad for the arrest of Shamim after which the latter was arrested.
The killers were made to hear all the recording of their conversation wherein they had planned to murder Dr Imran Farooq. After hearing their own conversation, the accused themselves told the whole story to the agencies. Though Shamim presented all facts in different contexts, statements of all the three accused proved similar at the end.
According to sources, UK investigative agencies and Scotland Yard had also contacted Pakistan intelligence agencies and asked for details but Pakistani agencies withheld the details.
To a question that whether the MQM activists are involved in Dr Imran Farooq’s murder, MQM leader Wasey Jalil refuted this notion and said they were waiting for details of the case. He said the Scotland Yard was investigating the case that could provide complete details in this regard.

^^ Shame on you MQM! I feel greatly disappointed that these killers are ruling the most educated masses of the country. What a shame!

Really missing pir-e-bhagorra-e-london's mureeds...would love to get their take on this latest development...

For a second I thought he was Farooq Sattaar...and then I thought of what was going to happen to Karachi next. I swear, I almost had an heartattack.

Bad timing for the bump!

will this case ever get solved fully??

Scotland Yard says ‘committed’ to finding Imran Farooq killers

LONDON: Scotland Yard has said that it is in contact with Pakistani authorities to bring to justice the killers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Dr. Imran Farooq, who was assassinated here on September 16, 2010.

On the seventh death anniversary of the former MQM ideologue, who was sidelined by MQM supremo Altaf Hussain at the time of his killing, the police told Geo News that it is seeking to bring to justice Mohsin Ali Syed and Kashif Khan Kamran who are in Pakistani custody.

While reports have said that Kashif Khan Kamran died in police custody, there is no official confirmation available and Mohsin Ali Syed, Khalid Shamim and Moazzam Ali Khan remain in custody.

Questions have been raised over British police's failure to make progress in its inquiries.

The police said: “We continue to liaise with the Pakistani authorities in relation to a separate investigation into the murder of Dr. Imran Farooq and remain committed to bringing those responsible to justice.”

The police met Shumaila Imran Farooq and her sons Aalishaan and Wejdaan on Thursday and assured her that it will not close the file of Dr. Imran Farooq’s murder case. Sources told that the police assured Shumaila that the killers will be brought to justice at any cost.

Dr. Farooq, aged 50, was on his way home from work on September 16, 2010, when he was murdered on Green Lane, Edgware outside his London home by Mohsin Ali Syed and Kashif Khan Kamran as they lay outside his flat waiting for him.

A post-mortem examination disclosed that he died from multiple stab wounds and blunt trauma to the head through injuries caused by knives and bricks.

The MQM leader had claimed asylum in Britain in 1999 on grounds that he was persecuted in Pakistan. He was wanted in Pakistan on scores of charges, including torture and murder but always claimed the accusations were politically motivated.

Dr. Farooq was twice elected as a lawmaker in Pakistan but went into hiding in 1992 when the government ordered a military crackdown against MQM activists in Karachi – until he surfaced in London by the side of MQM’s London-based leader.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has written a letter to Pakistani authorities seeking Mutual Legal Assistance in the case registered by Pakistan against the MQM leader in relation to his speech on August 22 last year. Pakistan has complained that the MQM leader incited violence against the state institutions in his speeches.

is Scotland Yard in MQMs sphere of influence as well?

Or is the british justice system this pathetic?

The Brits don't want to control their agent. Any other person would have been arrested and given death penalty but that toad continues to live.

At least his political influence has diminished in Pakistan although the MQM continues to live on due to lack of alternatives for the Karachi population.
