Hyperloop One on Tuesday signed an agreement with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to explore high-speed routes in United Arab Emirates, reported Digital Trends.

The RTA runs all the public transport in Dubai and connects with the infrastructure of UAE and the Gulf region beyond.

The project will explore the possibility of getting from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in 12 minutes.

Feasibility study with the RTA is second agreement of Hyperloop One in the UAE, following the deal to explore a cargo system with DP World in August.

“Dubai makes perfect sense for Hyperloop One because this is the 21st century's global transport hub and its leaders understand that Hyperloop One is ushering in the next era of transportation,” said Executive Chairman Hyperloop One Shervin Pishevar.

Hyperloop, a brainchild of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, will eventually travel faster than a speeding airplane at 700 miles per hour and has the ability to move humans and cargo all over the world in less than 24 hours.

Hyperloop is defined as an autonomous vehicle that uses electric propulsion to accelerate a slightly elevated passenger or cargo vehicle above a track, gliding it through a tube in a low-pressure environment over long distances. According to the startup, the system will "eliminate direct emissions, noise, delay, weather concerns and pilot error".

The startup is conducting economic and feasibility studies in the region with DP World ─ the third largest supply chain and terminals operator in the world ─ to determine the benefits Hyperloop could bring to the region in terms of trade and at what investment cost.

Excellent news!!!

Although this elevated transport system is not new.

This is still 10 years away also its probably a Cargo oriented transport.

Imagine a Lahore to Karachi, HyperLoop train trip in just 60 minutes. Wow

Inshallah in our lifetimes.

Elon Musk talked about the hyper loop years ago and said he already has ideas on how this can be achieved..sucks he doesn't get too much time from running Tesla and SpaceX

Giving an idea is alot easier than actually getting it done, just saying.

Tesla did not break through the barriers of scientific knowledge, electric cars were commercially available long before Tesla came on the scene.

Yes Space X is working on cutting edge innovation. Their reusable rockets and ability to land a rocket were revolutionary but those came about after years of trying and several failed attempts.

Same is the case with the Hyperloop, it'll take years to advance science and engineering to the level where this is possible and common knowledge.

he didn't come up with the idea...that's old..he discussed how it can be operational in the near future. He doesn't talk much on how it will be done because there are others working on the hyperloop as well. IIRC, it was part of his talk at Stanford.

Elon Musk is just total hype ... no substance ...
