Don't know if there are any fans, so wanted to gauge the audience.

Mat Zo?
Andrew Bayer?
Deadmau5?
Above and Beyond?
Zedd?
Zedds Dead?
Kaskade?

I could go on of course, but it is either you love it or you hate it.

Love it.

Nothing better than an EDM rave.

Seen following Live. All great experiences:

Calvin Harris
Skrillex
DeadMau5
Aoki
Avicci
Van Buuren
Madeon

also bunch of random ones.

Love it. Been on the EDM scene since 2008-9. Before it became mainstream in Pakistan and KEWL.

Used to mostly listen to trance but have started listening to deep house and progressive house as well.

Some of the favorite DJs include: Armin Van Burren, Markus Schulz, Above and Beyond, Gareth Emery, Cosmic Gate and the new comer lexer.

Aoki
Nicki Romero
Armen
Zedd
Martin Garrix
Adventure Club
Sander
Kaskade
Manzone Strong

Opus Erik Prydz for any Pakistanis who don't have Youtube. Been my track on repeat of late.

Avicci usually plays party bangers and that is why liked by the mainstream crowd who have no idea about genres. Dont get me wrong, i was a fan of Avicii too during his LEVELS days. Skrillex is another who plays dubstep. Cant listen to dubstep for long.

Peaceful vocal trance takes top rank for me.

In Pakistan, the only recognized DJ or might i say group of DJs that has came is Ministry of Sound. And it wasnt even their main guys lulz.

Avicii is trolled by Deadmau5 a lot on twitter, at his show this year he walked off the stage playing levels with the entire crowd booing haha, it was awesome.

Hahaha deadmau5 is a cool lad but comes off bitter sometimes especially during when DJ MAGs results are getting announced. Last time he tried trolling Hardwell and armin.

Best trolling was done by the crowd in Holland when David fakeassDJ guetta got booed by the whole crowd when he got the DJ MAG award. Armin had to actually stop them. :))

Oh I also saw Hardwell, who hilariously enough, opened for Deadmau5 at an afterparty.

I was really disappointed with his set.

Deadmau5 was FIRE that day.

He's a troll, he's not serious. His music is a representation of him. He even trolls Skrillex who is his good friend and whom he helped launch his career.

You like vocal stuff? Kaskade must be up your alley.

I dont like hardwell. I mean. Not his music. He plays house and electro house to be precise. Pure noise for my ears.

He was. He was. Guy is so chill. You should see his interview on the verge. Guy was shooting drones through a sniper rifle for fun. :))

Yeah. I do. Will check her out. Listening to Audrey Gallagher right now.

Any notable songs of kaskade?

He's a guy actually:

Last Chance
Never Sleep Alone
Eyes
I Remember (with Deadmau5)
Galantis (U and I) Kaskade Remix
A little More

Should be a good start.

I am not sure but didnt i remember have a female vocal? :srt

Yeah. Will check them out mate. Thanks a bunch.

successfully took part in EDC Vegas this year....planning it again next year. Best 3 days of my life!

I find EDM very annoying. EDM is for 20 year old white girls who likes jumping up and down while pointing their fingers up in the sky while high on molly. Didn't know it was popular in Pakistan. Learning new every day.

EDM is huge here in India. When I was a teen we had Deep Purple,Iron Maiden,Metallica etc. come and perform here and I was lucky enough to see them. But in the last 3 years its all been EDM dominated. Tiesto,SHM etc. etc. Personally I like only Daft Punks "Random Access Memories" since it has a retro disco/funk vibe. Can't stand most EDM though :P

It is HUGE in India bro. Especially Bangalore, Goa. They have big festivals and stuff where college going kids mostly attend.

You would be feigning ignorance, which is clearly apparent then.

My friend went too, said it was incredible.

Who had the best set?

there were so many amazing sets...few that were outstanding were

above and beyond
armin van buuren
Eric Prydz
Dash Berlin
Tiesto wasn't bad
Hardwell was okay
Andrew Rayel
Carl Cox
Sebastian Ingrosso

i can go on and on. I would urge you to go (if possible). There were TONS of people who flew out from Europe and South America

I dont know why are you bringing India when he is mentioning Pakistan. :)))

Anyway, most of the pakistani and i presume indian crowd is the KEWL crowd who would follow anything main stream. Since tommorrowland, EDM has gone mainstream in ghareeb parts of the world as well. Sastay ravers. Dont even know the ABC of edm but ask them if they have listened to trance. They would like oh yes yes yaawwrr trance is best and the next song they would tell you would be from an entirely different genre. Trance is not for main stream party banger population.

Thivagar bro. I disappoint. Thought you would be in the raving scene. :afaq

These 20 y/o eastren european girls are one of the reasons for the desi following. :ghalib

Oh yea Sander too.

Damnnn that's quite a list you got in one year too.

Mine was over 3 years and still doesn't match yours.

I guess being in NYC helps a lot haha

These were festivals in Toronto. It isn't far from NYC.

Digital Dreams and Veld. See the videos on YouTube.

People hate Garrix, but I don't know, Forbidden Voices puts me in a great mood.

Because thivagar thought only white girls like it which is totally untrue.

That's not true at all. Yes there is a certain proportion of fans who go to SUNBURN who don't know jack about it but go for the girls anyway but plenty are very knowledge able and follow a lot of underground artists as well. I would assume the same to be true in Pakistan as well.

Where do you live ? Girls who can dance for hiphop > EDM girls high on molly :narine. EDM at night club is okay, but there is no way I'd pay $100 to jump up and down at EDM rave for an entire day while drunk roid heads scream " YAHHH BRAAHHHHH" in my ear.. EDM music makes me go crazy man. Can't handle electro music for a very long time.

Girlie music.I'd rather listen to atif aslam.Sorry 11ShadyBrothers bro ;)

Meh. Its just a fad. Will die out soon IMO.

Except it's not and has been going for more than 30 years and has only gained in popularity.

This is what I hear

DUUSH DUUSHH DUUSH DUSH DAT DAT DAT DAT DAT DAT DA T DAT DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RUSHHHH DRRRRRRR RUSHHHHH LOL.

Well, this is why music is relative to those listening. The insinuation that those who listen to it are girls who are 21, kited out, is completely a farce and is simply ignorance.

I listen in my car, on my headphones, while at work, while reading. Like any music, and I listen to a variety of genres, it is not limited to the stereotype in place.

You hear that, whereas those who listen to it hear something else.

The amount of skill it takes to make these songs, some which are so orchestral and actually tell a story without words being in place is great.

Don't be ignorant and paint everyone with the same brush because you have no idea.

Btw, Is this EDM or trance?

Been going on in Goa for many decades now, in thing with the hippie tourists probably. Goa Trance is a genre in itself.

EDM is an all-encompassing genre and includes house, progressive house, trance, dubstep, DnB, and so on and so forth.

Pakistan, my homie. :narine

I think you havent been to the sets of good DJs.

I used to go to many night clubs here, the biggest one was called Guvernment, it has closed now, but it had 5 clubs joined in one, can easily hold 8000 people. I'd usually skip the EDM part of the club and move on to the hip hop, reggae side. I've tuned my ears in a way that allows me to enjoy good music so EDM kinda doesn't excite me.

Ah you're from Toronto. Been to Guv many times.

Good music is such a relative term and is laughable for one to say.

I bet you I know more about hip hop, and listen to more hip hop than you can imagine.

You're digging yourself deeper and deeper into clown territory.

I was just messing with people here . I don't like EDM, but I won't discourage people from hearing it.

Eh, when one acts pretentious, I will act pretentious right back.

Most people have to say they were joking after the fact, when the statement I quoted lacked any comedic value to it.

Nice try though :cigar

There was quite a crowd apparently . But we've had Tiesto and SHM earlier. Not sure crowds were bigger than those two.

Sounds awesome man.

Also anyone from Canada/NY, I'm going to Solaris musical festival on December 26 and 27. It was just announced today, still no word on artists.

If anyone would like to come, let me know and we can set it up, will be a great time.

Swedish DJ Avicii dies at 28

Swedish DJ Avicii, who has collaborated with the likes of Madonna and Coldplay, has died in Oman at the age of 28.

His representative said in a statement: "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii.

"The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given."

Tributes to Bergling emerged quickly after the news of his death.

RIP :O

Quite liked some of his music, very sad

Apparently he had pancreatitis....so sad though. He stopped touring in 2016 citing health concerns.

I suffered from acute pancreatitis due to heavy drinking last year in May.

RIP!

If you drink after suffering from pancreatitis, you might as well buy a plot for you in a cemetery in advance.
