What's new

England Lions beat Pakistan A by 56 runs in A team Tri-series

Somebody tell Saud the target is not 224 but 324

This is probably going to be the closest pak come to beating Eng Lions. Hopefully they take the opportunity! Saud needs to play out less dots and hope Jaahid gets his ton!

Commendable by Jaahid to improve his run rate from 60 odd to above 90

Jaahid very impressive! Has built his innings nicely after a slow start. Babar could learn a thing or two and not give his wicket away so much. Becoming a habit with him now.

For all In know both Babar and Saud have been quite reckless in the limited overs leg, coaching staff and management should give them a nice stick or two to get these bad habits out of the way early !!

Very disappointing by both of them.

Gladiator SuperIshtar Nawaz goes after playing a blistering knock of 1(4)

Lol. MMHS You are underrating Sharjeel in ODIs. If we have good batting depth then he is a must in this format

Sharjeel
Babar
Haris
Saud

future ODI top 4

That's too many lefti in top 4 then; need balance. Bi am not sure about Sharjeel yet for ODI, but his potential replacements (Imam, Sami) are also lefti. Besides, you need one solid player at 5, otherwise often the momentum loses.

Babar to open with a lefti for sure, may be Saud @3 & Haris at 5. I'll play Asad at 4. Or a second thought; Umar might bat at 4 if he can comeback. Saud should never bat below 4; in fact between 4 & opening; I would say open with Babar, Saud & bat Haris at 3. ODI cricket batting should be head heavy - you need players in top 3 who can rotate strike & play long innings.

Amad Butt in now, we only have siddiq and hassan ali left?

Amad was in tuk tuk mode with 2 off 6 now with a 6. Need to get them singles doubles no dots please!!

Jahid seems like a really good prospect. Credit to Inzi for selecting this guy.

what are ur views on jahid ali and saud shakeel ?
Saud Shakeel is the best Left hand young batsman in Pakistan and in top 2 overall along with Babar Azam.

Havent seen Jaahid bat but he has had a very good A tour of England uptil now. List A is his weakest format but he has scored his highest List A scored of 77 and 100 plus today which is impressive.

And i was right :))

This temperament issue needs to be addressed as quickly as possible. We can't be having another set of mentally fragile players

This generation needs to fire or we are practically in a lot of mess to be honest.

Its a very good bowling line up.

Saqib mahmood was clocked at 86 mph at the last under19 WC.

Woods is a also 88-90 mph test bowler.

Sam Curran a lefty who is getting compared to wasim Akram by some commentators, bowls around 85 mph.
Look at their List A statistics.

8 over mein 80 chaye hain.. bhai log marna shoro karoooo

Look at their List A statistics.

List a stats are generally going to be pretty deceptive when players have played so little games. Even someone like Mark Wood who isn't particularly young and has played a fair share of games for England as only played about 30 list a games with about 1/2 of them being in an England/England lions shirt if I remember correctly.

Sam Currans going to be a brilliant all-rounder in my view, still extremely young.

One thing im confused by, there is 3 Khans on scorecard and only 2 on teamsheet. I thought management sent Shadab Khan at 3 as pinchhitter lol. So which Khan was it that came in at 3?

Match lost it seems...

Sharjeel Khan was the second opener

lost? It was lost since day 1. Only rain could have saved Pakistan. Coming back from almost 600 behind is really difficult for a fragile batting line up like Pakistan.

Dost you posted in the wrong thread. This is Pakistan A vs England Lions match lol :afridi

Is he by any chance a relative of Basit Ali? Both from KHI as well.

Ah, it must be Umar Siddiq who came in at 3 named as Khan as he doesnt feature anywhere else on scorecard.

Anyways poor chase as usual. But good experience. Eng Lions are a solid team especially at home. No shame as long as we keep beating Sri Lanka A :))

poor team selection going in with just 4 batsmen 1 keeper and 6 bowlers in which 5 of them can bat but cant say they are allrounders...

His full name is Umar Siddiq Khan.

These tours aren't that much about winning, it's about seeing which players are good against decent bowling in unfamiliar conditions. These tours will separate the average domestic player from the international quality bowler. Jaahid Ali is definitely international quality

Disappointed by Umar Siddiq, Fakhar Zaman and Hasan Ali this tour. The funny thing is that an opener who is yet to show his capability in the domestic system of his home country is earning accolades here.

Said it before, and let me say again. Don't fall for Jaahid's century. He isnt LOI material, same like Azhar Ali. That's it.
