He has the same issue Shaheen has, goes haywire if the batsmen go after him
It happens when you're not aware of your strengths as bowler.
He needs some long spells in relatively low pressure environment of FC Cricket to develop and discover himself.
International T20 will only destroy him

Well at least we are sure of at least two phaintas at the hands of India now. I don't see UAE and Oman competing against us in Dubai, if they are losing games handily in a small ground like Sharjah

On evidence, pitch was difficult to bat on.

Probably means we will get thrashed in the final as I don't see our batters surviving against Afghanistan's spinners.

They are playing all the games in the same venue. I guess pitches have become weary.

Same venue produced high-scoring games during the first 2-3 games.

I believe toss will be very crucial. The pitch gets a bit slower as the game moves forward.
If we lose the toss we'll lose most probably.

Those who are saying Pakistan need another spinner like Abrar…

The guy for that role is Usman Tariq

Why do you keep saying the same stuff tell me any team barring india who can beat Afghanistan playing 4 spinners there is no team who can beat them in sharjah with them operating 4 spinners so nothing to feel bad about it.

Well played in the end. As we know with tweedle dumb and tweedle dee we were losing matches against associates

They dropped catches because they aren't good enough. Not sure what's the point here?
Those catches were sitter . It was bad day for them on the field .

And Bangladesh is same level as UAE that's why they defeated them .

Don't forget USA also defeated Bangladesh in a T20 series prior to world T20 2024

:kp

Their team is really good, but the fans are bonafide idiots and don’t deserve that team.

I expect their team to decline now that Rohit and Kohli are gone. Once Bumrah and Siraj are gone, they may become a mid-tier team.

Anyway, I have put most of them on ignore. :inti

Players thoughts from post match presentation:

Salman Agha | Pakistan captain: We started well in the powerplay but lost many wickets in the middle. Fakhar and Nawaz played outstandingly well. People don't give Fakhar the respect he deserves. Has been a matchwinner the last 10 years. Today the ball gripped and turned the most. It was never a 170 wicket, need to give credit to Fakhar and Nawaz. Abrar is an outstanding bowler and a matchwinner. The way Shaheen is bowling is outstanding. We come to the ground, assess the conditions and use bowlers accordingly.

Waseem | UAE captain: We were trying to stop them under 150 and were going well. Those dropped catches hurt us. We chose the wrong bowler to hit. We learned so many things - how to manage ourselves under pressure, how we can bat. Top three batters need to play 15 overs.

Abrar Ahmed | POTM: As you saw the condition of the pitch, applied myself accordingly. Had specific plans. Waseem is a good hitter, had my plans for him. I'll bowl according to what the pitch demands. Sometimes there is extra pressure. Captain has asked me to be ready at all times.

Jammati calling Indians petty, someone who support anyone playing against India calling other petty...irony was clearly missed out of Bangla syllabi

Abrar Ahmed shared following thoughts in a post match presser:

On working with Rashid Khan and improving his bowling
"It's not what Majid bhai said. I've been doing some extra work on my bowling, specifically on my googly. My goal is to bowl it much faster in the future. I haven't tried it in a match yet, but I plan to ask Rashid Khan about it. I was thinking that my googly is getting faster, but the line isn't good. Rashid Khan is a great player, especially with his wide ball. If I can learn that from him, it will not only help me but also benefit Pakistan."

On his hunger for playing and his performance
"I didn't get a chance to play in the first three matches. When you're sitting out, your hunger to play grows. I was thinking that whenever I get a chance, I'll go out there and perform. Shahid bhai is right; my hunger is growing, especially since I've been performing so well in the PSL for the past two years. When you're on the sidelines, you just get this burning desire for a chance to play and prove yourself."

On the pitch and his strategy
"You are absolutely right that the pitch supports spinners. The key is to first read the pitch and understand what kind of ball it demands. Is it a slow ball or a fast ball? The better you read the pitch, the more successful you will be. I felt that if I bowled according to the pitch, I would get more success, and that's what I did."

On his basic plan for the match
"My plan was to watch the opponent's batting from previous matches, especially their shots. I figured that if the pitch favored spin, I would go for an out because in the power play, these batsmen would want to hit me every time. My goal was to get them out."

On the two-spinner strategy
"Playing with two spinners is a valid strategy, and many people think that. But in our case, we also have Sam Ayub and a player like Agha who can bowl spin. This gives us the advantage of having more depth in our batting order, which extends until the end of the game."

Saim Ayub and Agha are not dependable

Nor is Nawaz.

What’s the point? You won’t be facing spinners of Rashid and Noor quality

Might as well let the batters have a free run today and get their confidence up
Getting habituated to chase and pressure. Atleast they will not think about the last time horrific chase.

Another unconvincing performance from Pakistan. UAE was ahead in Both sessions. 5 for 80 against UAE?? You call that a batting line up. Just a bunch of Tullas. Saim Tulla, Hasan Nawaz Tulla, Sahibzada Farhan Tulla, Mohd Haris Biggest Tulla, Mohd Nawaz Tulla and Salman Agha just so so. Maybe have a couple of Proper batters to stablize this Tulla Fest.

A complete mediocre and rubbish batting performance. If it wasn't for the lucky dropped catches, Pakistan might not have even made 140 runs.

This is an exceptionally poor batting group and it's shocking how often and cheaply they consistently lose their wickets in the PP. These are the teams PP scores in Agha's captaincy:

50/3
52/2
51/2
54/1
47/0
24/3
46/1
57/0
17/5 (bruh)
41/4 (bruh)
56/1
67/1
52/2
27/3
42/5 (bruh)
75/1
36/2 (PP reduced to 5 overs)
14/4 (bruh)

They've had more instance of losing 4+ wickets than being down 0 wickets in the PP. Truly a mediocre batting unit and it seems like they can only make runs when they're given flat pitches. Any slow or tricky pitches and these guys are flailing around not knowing how to bat.

There is more good than bad in this list. Don’t see the point of crying.

Just watched the H/L

Batting remains highly inconsistent and unpredictable.

Many in the top order incl. Farhan, Saim and Haris look more like hacks than proper batsmen.

Most of them including Hassan Nawaz are struggling to play or pick even average spinners! A much sterner test awaits them in the Asia Cup

Without a Fakhar special, today UAE would have been chasing < 150, and it would have been curtains for Pakistan.

Chasing 171 vs < 150 is a different kind of pressure altogether from the outset
