Abrar Ahmed shared following thoughts in a post match presser:
On working with Rashid Khan and improving his bowling
"It's not what Majid bhai said. I've been doing some extra work on my bowling, specifically on my googly. My goal is to bowl it much faster in the future. I haven't tried it in a match yet, but I plan to ask Rashid Khan about it. I was thinking that my googly is getting faster, but the line isn't good. Rashid Khan is a great player, especially with his wide ball. If I can learn that from him, it will not only help me but also benefit Pakistan."
On his hunger for playing and his performance
"I didn't get a chance to play in the first three matches. When you're sitting out, your hunger to play grows. I was thinking that whenever I get a chance, I'll go out there and perform. Shahid bhai is right; my hunger is growing, especially since I've been performing so well in the PSL for the past two years. When you're on the sidelines, you just get this burning desire for a chance to play and prove yourself."
On the pitch and his strategy
"You are absolutely right that the pitch supports spinners. The key is to first read the pitch and understand what kind of ball it demands. Is it a slow ball or a fast ball? The better you read the pitch, the more successful you will be. I felt that if I bowled according to the pitch, I would get more success, and that's what I did."
On his basic plan for the match
"My plan was to watch the opponent's batting from previous matches, especially their shots. I figured that if the pitch favored spin, I would go for an out because in the power play, these batsmen would want to hit me every time. My goal was to get them out."
On the two-spinner strategy
"Playing with two spinners is a valid strategy, and many people think that. But in our case, we also have Sam Ayub and a player like Agha who can bowl spin. This gives us the advantage of having more depth in our batting order, which extends until the end of the game."
