England v India | Match 38, World Cup | Edgbaston | 30th June, 2019 | Match Thread

Everything going well England, but about time they deserved their rub of the green.

Lol..what an onslaught. Pity that we are playing with 2.5 batsmen on this pitch.
Even Dhoni will be able to score @ 100 SR (hopefully)

Pakistan almost pulled of 375 runchase here.

Surely India can do it too...?

Comparing bi-lateral results with World Cups.

335+ has never been chased in history ID WCs.

Has 275+ chased in this tournament yet? You are talking about 375+ .

Indian formula doesn't look built to chase big 300 scores. . Not a big batting depth also top 3 job is to build a platform.

Not saying the game is over but India will have to change their tactics when they bat.

Semis are not too far so you might be worried about your team losing momentum .Your competition aus are playing every match like final and there is reason they are doing that
Someone needs a burnol..lol..
Don’t mind losing semis but more than happy to see ya guys off before reaching semis

India need to make a come back like Pakistan didagainst Aussies trigger a collapse and restrict them to 300-320. Pakistan missed the opportunity but Indian batting can chase it down.

We got thrashed by India and West Indies. If those games our NRR wouldn't have been so far behind NZ.

So it's not our fault we are in this situation, then going by your theory it's not our brilliant cricket that has us here. Had England beaten Sri Lanka we would nearly be out anyway.

The way you swing between slitting wrists to backing the team is amazing to see. :baelish

We are not winning this even if Dhawan was playing.

Our own Aleem has played a huge part too in this massacre, lets not forget.

Don't care even if Pak is out. They have played great in WC so it's been exciting :)

Just want to see England smashing close to 450 and then India folding for 200

Looks like New Zealand is our only hope left now. Time to learn how to do the haka :yk

No this is my answer to conspiracy theories . You cant say its not our fault we are in this position . And making up fixing claims against India is stupid.

You mean india is already out of match ?

To burst your bubble if eng beat nz we can make to semis based on NRR .so keep your arrogance to your self and enjoy the epic phainty

Big problems for India.

Unlucky with edges and the catcg down the leg.

Rahul thinking better to just limp off than running like crazy after the ball

Haven't seen Kuldeep-Chahal combination treated like this before.

Finger spin may trouble England here. England have a decent record against leg spin according to some stats shown a few overs ago.

Itachi u were saying let england play India bowling than well decide how good they are lol 😂

So Dhoni's tips to bowlers only work on helpful decks. What a useful cricketer he is currently :)

He has an excellent PR team, he gets credit for anything that goes well and when it doesnt we get to see his videos of 2011 world cup finals all over the social media.

It relies heavily on their bowling resources, as shown by the presence of 4 proper tail-enders in this team.

If they are to chase a 300+ in this WC, they will rely heavily on Rohit and Kohli. Pant and Pandya are also very capable as well.

Kuldeep doesn't have any variations. Will get massacred on pitches like this.

England looking up for a fight today and Roy is... Well Roy. India have to start pulling it back here but they will have to do it with some smart field settings and aggression because the spinners are looking like nothing but straight slow bowlers.

India is not chasing 300+ in a WC game, specially considering the phainti that will leave them demoralized.

They had ONE job, and that was to keep these English lads under pressure, and they would have thrown their wickets away under durress. The bowling has been associate level to say the least.

Losing by big margins was likely to play a part lol. NRR is a important factor in a league system in cricket.

Not what the league is showing thus far. If England lose today, and Pakistan beat Bangladesh, then NRR is irrelevant and down the swanny. What is more important in this WC is number of wins, as it is the first tie breaker.

I have never seen Indian spinners bowl so many long hops.

Now i am more interested to see how indian bowling attack bounce back from this :13:

England's bowling has been good in this tournament. Won't be an easy chase for india.

If England keep going at just this rate they'll make 366. Likely they'll increase it even more, we're looking towards a 400 score here.

So sad, if just a little luck had gone India's way early on England would have been lost a wicket or two. Now though these two look set, and India's bowling doesn't look like getting them out now.
