High chances of England winning now. I don't see the tail surviving 5 deliveries.

Well done to England for making the match so interesting! Deserved to win!

Lankans barely survive.

Very very lucky there. Still better than what Indians did the entire series last time

Awwww......

Brilliant test match.

Should have declared and had four overs at them last night Cheffy.

England v Sri Lanka | 1st Test | June 12-16, 2014 | Lord's | Day 5

Safety attitude of England denied them a win

Yep Australia would have either won or lost this match but wouldn't have been a draw.

You don't deserve to win when winning is your distant third priority in a test match.

Poms were too conservative.

Anderson was super on a flat deck, though. Seven for 130 in the match.

We English are conservative by nature, its just the way we are. The Aussies are loud and aggressive and cocky, its just the way they are.

We like to play things safe.

I'm very unhappy. Going for a selfish 100 rather than the win. Those extra 5 or so overs yesterday were clearly needed. England had more than 150 runs which they didn't need in the end. No wonder we're ranked world number 3. Far too defensive.

It's okay. You can hop on and support Bangladesh as they thrash India B Team or a mix of A and B Team or whatever the hell they are.

Shane Warne was spot on about the early declaration. Should hire him as a coach even though he is Aussie. Eng need a more aggressive mindset.

Well done SL!! Congrats :)

Herath was not even out, extremely poor by the umpires and the English team, yet couldn't win.

Great game of Test cricket well played to both sides. Horrible umpiring tho especially by Reiffel. SL appeal for LBW > not out. Eng appeal for LBW > up goes the finger. They seriously need to get rid of this umpire's call bs it makes no sense. If a decision is refereed the third ump should make the final decision and the benefit of the doubt should go to the batsman as per normal. Umpire's call business only leads to inconsistency and confusion.

Agreed. Exact same scenario results in two different outcomes right now.

1% of the ball hitting/in-line could be out whereas 49% of the ball hitting/in-line could be not out. Only makes sense to ICC I guess! :))

First off, Anderson showed his class. One of the finest bowlers in the world. Made chaos out of a dwindling game and flat pitch.

Mainly, great gall shown by Pradeep to survive. Poor by umpires. Umpiring has been awful this series. Also, Mathews, Mathews. If it weren't for him, we wouldn't have had a draw. He was MOM for me. Two critical knocks in deciding SL's fait during crunch situations.

I am so relieved that there was a review left for Sri Lanka. If England had won by an umpire mistake it would be a pretty horrible feeling in the stomach and no time to celebrate.
