In this exclusive interview, cricket legend David "Bumble" Lloyd joins PakPassion to share his unfiltered views on the T20 World Cup, the state of Pakistan cricket, and the administrators running the game. The former England coach and renowned commentator reflects on India's dominance, New Zealand's consistency, England's semifinal exit, his heartfelt plea for Imran Khan — and much more.

Key revelations include:

* Pakistan's decline: "I absolutely worry about Pakistan cricket" - Bumble's honest take. He expressed deep concern over the current state of the national side, noting that a powerhouse of the game is currently in a state of visible distress.

* Imran Khan plea: "He doesn't deserve this. Look after this great man" - Emotional message. Reflecting on the former captain’s current circumstances, Lloyd called for better treatment of a figure who remains a global icon of the sport.

* BCCI criticism: "It's not a good look" - On administrators overshadowing players. He pointed out that the sport suffers when the focus shifts from the athletes on the field to the power dynamics and visibility of board officials.

* PCB governance: "The players are getting fined? Who comes up with that?" - Ridiculous decision. Lloyd questioned the logic behind recent disciplinary actions, suggesting that such administrative choices only serve to demoralize the squad.

* Golden era comparison: "Pakistan were an unbelievably potent force. They're getting left behind" — He reminisced about the days when Pakistan dominated world cricket, warning that they are losing their competitive edge in the modern era.

* Coaching instability: "They stagger from one coach to the next" - Root of the problem. He identified the frequent turnover of leadership and management as a primary reason for the team’s lack of long-term consistency.

* Associate nations: "Expand the game. Put finance towards these countries" — Lloyd advocated for a more inclusive global strategy, urging major boards to redistribute wealth to help developing cricket nations grow.

* Personal memory: "I played against Imran at Worcester. He was a fabulous man" — Sharing a nostalgic anecdote, Bumble recalled the aura and immense talent Imran displayed during their encounters in English county cricket.

* Fan moment: "A young fan said I've got old. Come on!" - Bumble's classic response. With his signature wit, he shared a lighthearted interaction that highlighted his enduring rapport with the cricketing public.

Pakistan Cricket is hitting the rock bottom now and only God can save it.

Whole world sees Imran’s innocence clear as day apart from some Pakistanis for some odd reason. Munafiq qaum.
Whoever wants to make actual change is treated like this. Whether you like his politics or not his innocence is evident

Pakistan will stay corrupt and one day they will run out of money, the IMF will tell them to denuclearise for more loans and then that will be the start of the end. Save this post , I guarantee it will be right.

But unfortunately, the people at helm of PCB doesn't care a bit about Pakistan cricket.

Bumble cares about Pakistan,

But Pakistan fans only care about one thing,

RizBabar,

And Rizwan just loves lipstick

In case you missed this exciting interview

Our players have stopped graduating to the next level.

Ahmed Shahzad - started with a bang. Had the looks, physique, & even ability to become a star but eventually faded into becoming a doomsayer youtuber.

Umar Gul - the absolute beast in terms of T20 bowling. Even got his big break with a 2009 world cup & more than decent performance in 2007. Instead of becoming a star, just slowly faded away.

Asif - Mike Procter saw one spell & said he's a potentially great fast bowler capable to take 400 test wickets. Did decent in Australia after a disaster debut, was ok in England, & good in both NZ & RSA. Even managed to destroy India and Sri Lanka leading to memorable test wins but just had the audacity to throw it all away.

Amir - Same as above. He was a better white ball bowler and could have been mainstay for a good six seven years but nope.

Babar - Career nosediving. No focus on fitness or improvement. Just going with the flow

Shaheen - Fooled me because I thought 30% of our bowling attack is sorted for the next decade. Tall, lean, had bounce, had pace, & even was able to bowl on hard length & showed stamina but now is a shell of his former self.

The list is very long if we include players like Haris Sohail, Muhammad Abbas, Junaid Khan, Hasan Ali, Muhammad Irfan, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Yasir Shah, etc. All of these had the basic ability to become great but they never managed to do it. I mean an attack of Irfan, Abbas, Shaheen, & Yasir at their peak would have been an electrifying attack to watch but these things almost remain a fantasy instead of a reality. The AAG (Amir, Asif, Gul + Ajmal) attack played together but Gul had just stopped performing in tests by that time.

The current lot is the same: they have hints of potential but the moment they make it to even PSL it feels that they just lose all motivation to take the next step.
