And the result is an ongoing 8 years long trophy drought with no end in sight.

That's true but we need to ensure that our central contracts are competitive enough so that these players prioritize their own country and take interest in it.

Obviously they'd enjoy leagues more then international cricket.

Leagues pay more, and theirs zero stress or pressure to perform for a corrupt management.

its not just the trophies and money that they get from all these other leagues, these things are superficial, the more important. Thig is respect they get from the supporting fans and fellow players. at the pcb seems like there is none of that even if you are a yes man

Too many of the current group of players have very high opinions of themselves, yet they have won nothing.

Too much hype, too much emphasis on playing in T20 leagues.

Honestly I'm not sure how they wouldn't. I'm sure if any single one of the users on this forum had their talent and position they wouldn't be any different in that regard. But that doesn't mean in and of itself that they can't perform at their best for Pakistan. Remember the pressure of international cricket especially in a team with constant upheaval and the type of craziness that goes on with not only the institution but also the country itself. There's absolutely none of that pressure in league cricket and it's all fast paced, barely any hard yards involved and they get paid a fortune by comparison.

I think even the Indian players would probably say they enjoy leagues more. I don't think enjoyment directly correlates to performances and results. Winning in and of itself brings enjoyment naturally.

Enjoying league cricket is due to financial aspect, why waste energies in Test cricket when you make more $$$ by bowling 4 overs

League cricket has money and their isn't a big pressure to perform, plus due to many trundlers players like azam Khan can thrive making it easier to play franchise

Only issue with franchise is, if you go unsold, but that only happens if you've done something stupid like shehzad or sharjeel. Or if you're really really really bad and just club cricket level, which in case what are amyou even doing with your life?

Bowl 4 overs get paid a lot.

Bowl 20 overs in a day and get paid peanuts.

No comparison really, sadly.

As a player said to me recently.

Why break your back bowling 20 overs a day when you can make much more money bowling just 4 overs every few days.

If the barometer is PSL, then Shadab Khan is a world class allrounder

Why don't we hire Yasir Arafat as a coach? He has vast experience playing cricket and excellent coaching skills. Instead of chasing after foreign coaches we should prioritize our own cricketers.

He failed miserably in NZ as a coach. 4-1 loss. Our players talk big and think too highly of themselves whether they are current or former.

International cricket specially bilateral cricket is dull and boring, even though Black Caps II are touring Pakistan for 5 t20s but the game will Lack spark due to quality of opposition and obsolete grounds and infrastructure of the host nation

He is an ideal choice to be the head coach of the Pakistan team.
