Excuses if Pakistan win the South Africa series

Pakistan will turn up and destroy South Africa , they don't have time for mug teams like New Zealand or Bangladesh or Sri Lanka. OP is confident of that.

We will play with SA only when
1) if they play with 10 players.
2) if Vernon, Rabada and Steyn bowl with left hand.
Otherwise forefiet SA tour.

Pakistan can still win in SA if the clicks to destroy SA batsmen in one or two tests ...

Don't see Pakistan winning against SA in SA leave. Pakistan have struggled against NZ at home.

Our batsmen won't last long against Rabada Steyn and Philander. Specially if are one down for nothing thanks to Imam.

I am very keen to see how Pakistan batsmen play against South Africa in South Africa. This thread would then be worthy of being bumped.

I hope CSA won't allow broadcasters to dictate the nature of the pitch and go for wickets we saw last summer against India. Would be amusing.

Actually fearing SA board might cancel series after paks pathetic performance against NZ.

Theyr not going to profit from the series games ending in 2 days SA will have to pay from there pockets to cover costs.

What are you talking about? The pitches vs India were extremely bowler friendly.

225 was a par score.

Listen even if we beat SA in SA, while I will be proud of the result it shouldn't take away from the glaring errors in this team.

We as fans should demand consistent results and performances from the team rather than getting excited from a win once in a while. Difference is other teams play at a consistently high level, while we play at a consistently poor one. Instead of speaking out for the issues at hand, we take pride in our scattered victories and label ourselves as "unpredictable". You know what's another word for unpredictable? Inconsistent. And thats what Pakistan was for a while. Now we're just consistently bad.

The UAE was a fortress for Pakistan, and we were a team to be reckoned with under Misbah in the long format at home. While we were still a fairly poor One Day side, we had a test team that could put together good performances at home.

Watching the test team put up poor performances in consecutive series is not a good look after being unstoppable in this region, and the people in charge should really be concerned over this run of form.

forget about winning the test series
just pray that we win 2 or 3 sessions in a series.

I’d be happy if we win a few sessions. It’s going to be slaughtering of the lambs come south Africa tour.

I just hope Fakhar, Haris and babar learn from the series and score decently.

Hopefully it’s bye bye Asad, sarfraz and imam that series.

I want to follow this series but it's going to be far too early to be watching a horror show.

I cannot wait for this series to start. There is no point watching India vs Australia series since that series is not attracting spectators at the ground.

Apparently, Asad gets to stay because he scored a century in SA six years ago (lost the Test match) and has great technique.

There will be no excuses, because Pakistan will not win.

They better hope they win every toss and bat first because otherwise, they will lose even if the target is 15 runs.

I stand by my original comment. This is a very weak SA. India/Eng/NZ should be able to defeat them in their den, especially if they win the toss.

With Vern back, Pakistan will find things harder only.

With our leading run scorer in Tests this year(Haris Sohail) and leading wicket taker(Abbas) retuning, Pakistan will only get better and it will be harder for South Africa since they will have to drop one of Steyn or Olivier.

Not necessarily , I reckon South Africa should drop the spinner because he probably wont even be needed to bowl an over if they play the following pace quartet:

Dale Steyn
Rabada
Olivier
Vernon Philander

Expect Pakistan's batting scorecard to resemble an international call to Pakistan, which starts with 0092

Maybe, but I don't think the home team will go without a spinner at Cape Town, the best ground for spinners.

Abbas returning is a good news but Haris is playing first time in SA and he hasn't played too many games to make any conclusive decision if he can really turn it on.

Btw, isnt Babar the leading run-scorer for Pakistan this year?

It is a tough call for SA tbh. Philander's record is absolutely outrageous in Capetown, averages 16 there.

Steyn has a reputation and can't be dropped.

Rabada is the spearhead and Olivier should definitely not be dropped after taking 11 wickets.

Elgar bowling a few overs may not be enough in Capetown and Maharaja was good in the first test even though nothing was there for spinners.

They will drop de bruyn and move de cock up to 6

From thinking of excuses for the win from others to making up excuses for India's likely win in Australia. What went wrong for the hungry side with the best bowling attack in the world?

We will win the 3rd test. These first 2 games should have been warm ups!! Our batsman need time to adjust ( more so than most)
Our bowling has done fine given the circumstances and Yasir should never have been picked. Shadab and faheem should be playing as part of 5 man attack

Tch Tch....this thread is unnecessarily hogging server space.

Abbas 1-81. Thanks.

Wait, Australia have a better pace attack than South Africa? How was that established? What else have I missed since I've been gone?

Indian Bowlers bowling 140k+ consistently
Pakistani Bowlers bowling around 120-130k

Never thought this would happen!

Knives are out when the tiger is down. Hyenas come in packs because the tiger is supposedly dead and won’t take them all on at once even though he could.

Fur poachers approach the tiger’s body thinking they got him with one of their bullets.

But the tiger will rise and these same hyenas and poachers will run home. Happened before, will happen again. 2016, 2017 and now 2019. #2more2go

Absolutely! Pakistan are firm favorites to lift the trophy in England. The conditions are perfect for the tiger to roar as they did during the Champions Trophy

In what match did we beat India in 2016? :13:

We came pretty close this time but somehow our batters choked in 4th innings. The end scoreline may read 2-1 for SA but anyone followed that series would recall India gave pound for pound fight in every session. Unlike SA who meekly surrendered against India's spin in the ODIs that followed.

The way we humiliated SA in ODI leg of the series (5-1) and T20s (2-1), we will do the same in tests next time. Wait and watch.

Pretty much. More of a chance that we'll win a test series in South Africa than the other way around anyway, shady Jo'burg pitches or not.

"I was very high on drugs and was hallucinating"

Our team is pathetic

The fans who downplay India’s win in Australia have a lot to answer for. They said it’s easy to win when a team doesn’t have their best players. Faf,Philander,Ngidi, and Mahraj all missed at least 1 game. Steyn and Amla aren’t at their best anymore, also South Africa has some new batters. Yet we were still beaten black and blue. I haven’t even mentioned the recent retired players lol.

Pakistan has lost 11 out of 12 tests in SA since 2000 won one. It is definitely a tough place to win for Asian sides.

Please watch less Bollywood movies as this is too melodramatic for any sane person to digest it

great fight from pakistan...did not expect them to score more than 100 if any of the innings in the entire test series.....but they batted well and scored some 200s

Another moral victory eh?

We just needed one batsman who would score 40 regularly @ no 6 in that series and result wiuld have been 2-1 to India.
