I haven’t watched him play. Tbf I haven’t actually seen Miandad and Imran Khan play either, I started to learn about cricket in 1999. But I definitely had to revisit Imran and Miandad’s heroics for Pakistan due to the 1992 win. Miandad definitely according to my understanding is the greatest cricket mind in Pakistan history, and Imran was it’s most natural leader.
Moin Khan is also one who I think the records don’t tell the full story. Solid keeper and a street smart batsman, a World Cup winner and runner up.

Part of Mudassars statement is incorrect . Fakhar was the leading run scorer last year , so whilst he was very good in the power play and this is rightly pointed out , he didn’t always perish in the deep once the power play finished otherwise he won’t have got 7 50s and 1 100.
This is exactly why Fakhar needs to bat at 4 and hold the middle order. He will give you more runs that Ifti, Khushdil and Asif combined. And on the good days when he gets in, he can hit big and also stay on the crease longer.
PCB need to stop with the cribbing and get him in the World Cup squad.

Highly disagree with the OP. The only position where Fakhar can be of use is as an opener. If he's not opening, he shouldn't be playing.
You couldn't think of a worse option for no. 3/4. Slow starter, no nudge/gap play ability. He plays with a black n white approach, he will either block it or it will travel.

Challenge aggressively, lol- one way to do it is ask Sharjeel to fa*rt aggressively so the ball travels quickly. That's the only way he can make runs. And that's the only way your view can make any sense.
Such is the legacy of Fakhar that nobody (barring some children at pp) even contemplates about getting him to open above Babar and Rizwan.
Babar and Rizwan will go down as Pakistan's historic T20I openers with some memorable wins under their belt. They are the face of Pakistan's batting. Only agenda-driven nutcases will think about tampering with it.

Have said many times. Fakhar at 4 will give you 4 times more runs than Asif would, even if he batted 4 times during the same match.
Gray Nichols pair are currently one of the best batsmen in T20I in world cricket.

Fakhar at 4. Coming in @ 95/2 after 12 overs and it might become 99/3 in 13, he is suited to bat when the ball is new and pacers are bowling but we can't disrupt RizBar which is also logical so are we bound to play both Fakhar & Shan

At 4, you need someone who is good with rotation of strike more than a boundary hitter.

Fakhar does not have the patience. You need greater patience to control the desire to hit boundaries specially in this day and age.
Like I said Ifti can play that role. Ifti is actually an anomaly. He can play tuk tuk like Misbah if given the role and also become boom boom Afridi if the situation demands.
I would back him big time for the no.4 role.
