Fakhar Zaman versus Shikhar Dhawan - Who is the better ODI batsman?

Fakhar is good. Shikhar are very good. So I choose Fakhar.

Dhawan is way better and reliable than Fakhar Zaman..
Due to presence of Rohit and Kohli, Dhawan seems to be ignored by many, but he himself gives tremendous contributions to the team..
Dhawan may be underrated, but he is definitely an vital member of our ODI unit.
Had he been a Pakistani, he would been their best ever opener in limited overs cricket.

Dhawan should be compared with Saeed Anwar and not Fakhar Zaman. He is that good. One of the best openers India has produced in white ball cricket.

Fakhar slogs to the leg side too much. I am still not convinced he would end up scoring more runs than Shikhar.
Shikhar is a much better ODI batsman than Fakhar.

The comparison may not its full potential in terms of matches as Pakistan play very limited one day cricket . Fakhar debuted in 2017 and has only played 50 games . I think he’s only missed two or three max .

Anwar was far more destructive. Dhawan can barely change gear and strike at 120+ after the powerplay overs.

Anwar in the modern era would hit multiple double hundreds. Dhawan doesn't have that high bar although he is consistent and very good in ICC ODI tournaments.

Fakhar has more gears than Dhawan after they cross the powerplay overs.

Fakhar's CT inning in final is more clutch than any Dhawan's inning in ICC tournament.

If one innings defines a career then why did you even create a thread? It does not matter even if shikhar has 10k runs .. the ct innings will be brought up and will always made to look better.
In 2013 champions trophy tournament win shikhar played many innings and was man of series as well.. that's not clutch?

Shikhar was top run getter and man of series in 2013 champions trophy England, and India won the tournament

Shikhar was in top 3 run getter at 2015 wc in Australia at strike rate of 92.
Unfortunately missed out 2019 wc due to injury

Played the fastest test innings on debut against Australia

Shikhar has this kind of impact in international cricket and I would always prefer a consistent match winner like him. no where close is Fakhar

Fakhar at its best is better than Shikhar Dhawan. Once set, he can play long innings and accelerate faster.

Dhawan is solid at the start vs pacers with the new ball and keeps the scoring rate high too due to powerplay but post that he struggles to accelerate at the level as Fakhar does. On present form, Dhawan is probably even more of an inferior version. When he performs, he scores 60-70 and then gets out and when he fails, he anyways fails.
