Two things come to mind when I think of Fawad. Loss of 3 games in BD to BD and "that" Smith's catch in UAE. Also his image as a victim doesn't help. I used to be a big fan of this guy until that BD series. He doesn't evoke any fear and is actually awkward with his stance and style. I know for most of you, these things don't matter much but he let go of his chances and didn't perform when it mattered. He is not young either and doesn't fit well into this ambitious multi dimensional and dynamic Pak setup.

The selectors think he isn't good enough it is interesting they think Aslam Babar Shafiq Imam Salahuddin are all better batsmen than Fawad in tests looks unlikely but there you go.

Although i am not a fan of Fawad, i do believe that he has been treated poorly.Looking at the tripe that have been given extended runs( Akmal, Shazad, Masood), Fawad should have been given a chance.

Ahem, Misbah has played with a strike rate of 40 all his career in test match, I can give you notable examples of him surviving on an SR of below 50 in ODIs too, but nobody chucked him out on the basis of one performance.

Misbah and Fawad played the Asia cup final of 2014, both of them came to bat when the team was 17/3... both of them batted with a Strike rate of 50-70, Misbah got out and Alam made a century... people hated on his batting prowess, but he managed to do it again with Maqsood, chasing down 280 in 45 overs against Lanka.., ofcourse one failure put everything else in the bin for him..

Never had the technique for tests. It's a given that he would struggle overseas , but he was poor against spin too. Just cos he scored slowly, doesn't make him a test player.

Yesssss, this is not new, we have always been obsessed with flare players like Afridi and Umar Akmal.. and obsession with batting quickly, sadly results are always there to see..

Latest example is Babar Azam of being a world class failure in Test matches for not having the key criteria 'temperament'

But keep enjoying a string of 5 world class zeroes from our very own Virat Kohli.... ofcourse we will always get the, he will learn and improve he is only young, an average of 23 in 11 test matches, including world class failures agianst Srilanka and West Indies, his favorite ODI whipping boys..

But ofcourse, his world class 50s in t20s is winning us games so every thing is good, that only is good enough for him to be played in all 3 formats

injustice have been done if you talk about parchee shan maqsood with zero technique still in the team if not for the injury, how come imran farhat played so many matches and how come imam ul haq got selected ? People and media have all the rights to ask this question, fawad deserves a test series at least if not now it wont be happening in future, chao.

I would have broken down if I were him. He really was naturally suited to come into the team for test cricket once Misbah and Younis retired. Theyre retired and still he is no where to be seen. I can't believe Usman Salahuddin, Imam Ul Haq or Fakhar deserved a place ahead of him in that format at least.
