Listen he may not set the world on fire but he deserves a fair chance and a run of matches like the favoured ones have had over the last decade

Th obligation to play him is not just for Fawad's sake but it also puts into perspective how much Pakistan values its own domestic circuit. You send a guy back for years to perform in domestic cricket. He does it. Even then if you don't pick him, what is the point of even asking players to go back to domestics.

Despite all the calls about unjustice against him, I cant find any sympathy for him because of how much I hate his batting style.

He also serves no value at no. 6 because he cant play at a faster tempo, which is a requirement at that position.

How is this a requirement of the position In tests you need players who will score runs It doesnt matter if he grinds them out

He should get a chance the next game. Ideally he should be in for Shafiq, but Shadab is the most likely to make way for him. Feel sorry for him that he was not picked earlier in his career, his reflexes are pretty much gone at his age, and he will probably struggle in England, which is one of the toughest places to bat. Still worth a shot though, considering his FC pedigree.

Fawad surely deserves a place in this batting lineup. We need a specialist batsman at 6, he can slot in there. Asad has been given far too many chances and produced far too many failures under pressure, surely Fawad can slot in at 5. Are they really saying Fawad is not in the best 6 batsmen in the country? Worse than Azhar, Asad, Shadab etc? It's a joke, we collapsed in that second innings, and we would've collapsed in the first if not for Shan. We can't really get worse than this, there's no excuse not to throw him in.

Dude now that ain’t fair. You can’t expect someone to perform straight away that to against an attack like England in England with the dukes ball. You wanna slate someone then why not asad shafiq who done nothing and has been there for so long.

He’s played 1 test match and that’s it. Besides Shadab is not a test player he’s a limited overs player his bowling won’t get him far in tests.

Absolute it’s unfair as well. We can’t judge someone based on one match with all that said I’m very happy with how Fawad batted with the tail in this match and then getting to 3 figures on a tough pitch.

I really do not think you understand sample size.

It would be a bit hard for him to average over 50 in FC cricket for 15 years if all he was doing was dodging international bowlers.

I believe hassan ali and ehsan aadil were playing this game who have both been involved internationally.

I'm a Fawad fan but do i think he's the greatest? No, is he the most stylish batsman out there? No but does he deserve a proper run? Yes.

Runs are runs, if you got out to Sindh's bowling attack then what does that make Azhar Ali?

He should have been given a break on basis of his FC record many years ago, and even as an Indian i felt frustrated to see him not being given the opportunity he had deserved and earned but not once did ur ever come to media and make monkey statements like many do in desi culture.

Just imagine all the runs he could have scored in the UAE if our selectors weren't weirdly obsessed with "technique".

He looked quite solid for the position he bats at and obviously has great temperament. Much has been made about his technique but he gets into decent position when the ball is delivered and makes the bowlers bowl into his pads which he picks up easy runs for.

But more than anything his performances show Pakistan's domestic cricket is fine. Just got to keep picking the players who are doing well there not just rough diamonds but proper performers.
