Great job by Sarfaraz and PCB on Shalwar Kameez. Only he doesn't look colonized.

Holder absolutely towers over the Queen :))

Kohli in the second picture is like "Is that my throne behind me ?"

MashaAllah!

Sarfraz donning the shalwar kameez.

Pakistan Zindabad!

Very happy to see Sarfaraz in shalwar kameez. Only person in traditional clothing.

Why the LV shoes? Might as well wear bata sandals if you want to be traditional

While the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Opening Party got under way on the Mall, just up the road the expectant captains got a royal audience in a very grand ‘pavilion’.

The Queen and Prince Harry got the lowdown from the skippers who will be contesting 48 games around the country in the next six weeks, starting with England’s Eoin Morgan taking on South Africa Faf du Plessis at the Oval on Thursday.

Swapping their colourful kits for smart blazers, they enjoyed a break from preparations at a Buckingham Palace garden party, before parading in front of their flags and an excitable crowd as cricket stopped traffic on London’s most famous thoroughfare.

The Mall then hosted a game of street cricket with legends of the sport, including Sir Viv Richards, Anil Kumble and Brett Lee, joined by a cast of celebrities including Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai and Olympic gold medallist Yohan Blake.

And, perhaps in a sign of what the hosts hope is to come, it was Kevin Pietersen who inspired England to a narrow victory over Australia.

Michael Clarke, Australia’s winning captain four years ago, delivered the World Cup, which has spent the last 100 days visiting communities up and down the country.

And Rudimental and Loryn performed the official song, ‘Stand By’, which is set to be the soundtrack to a cricketing summer like no other.

“Some of the greatest memories of my career were playing in this competition so to have been able to have held this trophy up as captain in 2015 was very special,” said Clarke.

“I think there’s five or six teams that can win it. England are in great form and their preparation has been outstanding so they are obviously the favourites.”

Excellent choice to go with traditional shalwar kameez.

Wi. Aus. Eng. India captain sat with the Queen... Future Semi finalist perhaps.?

Brilliant by Sarfraz, dressing in Pakistan cultural dress. Queen prob said " Is this country is no longer colonized Phillp? "

I get it why the Australian and English captains are sitting right beside the queen since aus and eng started cricket. But how on earth is faf looking two inches taller than masheafe when mashrafe is 6”2 and faf is like 5”10 must be wearing elevator shoes

Just saw Sarfaraz Ahmed trending on no.1 in Pakistan.

The guy has slowly but surely learnt the art of appeasing people like Shoaib Malik and Shahid Afridi have over the years.

People will forget his captaincy after this gimmick and focus on his shalwar kameez.

The die hard sarfaraz contingent are over the moon.

And yes no one is criticizing him for wearing a shalwar kameez. He looks great!!

Man, the suit jacket looks so ill fitting and bland. Also the shows look a bit off. He went for Shalwar Kameez but at least should have worn a non transparent under shirt and have gone for a slim fit shalwar kameez.

Wearing a dress just for the sake of it is not the way to go. At least wear it with proper style.

What other vest he could wear under white shirt other than white. Criticism for sake of criticism. He looks quite smart and well done to him showcasing Pak traditional dress.

You do realize that he could have woren an opaque undershirt of white color? I have a pack of three from my local levi's store fgs.

He looks awkward and funny.

He is representing common man of pak iam happy about it ian ok even he doesnt look classy

This dress has nothing do with Pakistani anything, don;t know why he did not wear something nice like others. He looks strange in it.

Wait
Everycommon man wears it. Not everyone wears jeans and t shirts. It is our culture

Superb dressing by Sarfraz, he looked great. Any Pakistanis having a problem with his dressing need to overcome their inferiority complex

Bata is not traditional bro.

Bata is a chain company founded by Tomas Bata, in the area of Austria, Hungary. The current country is called Czech Republic.

People look at Bata and think its Pakistani but nothing is further from the truth.

Oh really, never knew that. Always thought Bata was Bangladeshi or Ind/Pak.

What kind of logic is this? The common man of Pakistan wears torn clothes. Should he have gone with torn clothes as well?

Why is constructive criticism so hard to digest? I mean look at the sleeves of his suit jacket. Look at its fitting. Both are horrendously bad.

I have already explained how ill fitting the shalwar kameez looks.

The dress is absolutely fantastic, i know that because i wear it with style unlike sarfraz representing a 20 crore population and looking like a fashion disaster.

if somehow this fashion disaster win the damn thing, he will overnight become the trend setter, and everything about him will start looking great. Charhtay Soraj Ko Salaam

Sarfaraz looking like a Clown among the well dressed and groomed Gentlemen of other countries. As if he is wearing a parody dress to make fun of the occasion.

People not liking sarfaraz’s Dress up. I think it was the best thing he did in a while. Traditional clothes over western. Some people need to get their minds off the colonial mindset.

Our Mash is one of the most vivid and lively captain among all. He can get along well with others

I could careless if Sarfraz or any other captain wore shorts and tee shirts.

Just formalities. Doesnt matter what you wear. Good by Sarfraz for going with

Unprofessional and disrespectful. Put a tie and suit on, you are not in your pind.

who cares?
Why should wearing a pant coat be important? jjust a stupid formality.

At the end, these costume parties dont matter, its the world cup that matters

Great pictures. Her Majesty looks happy these days and this was a fun duty for her.

so wearing shalwar kameez means you dress like a clown? wow. Sarfaraz did the right thing and is clearly proud of his nation unlike some people on this forum who think looking groomed means looking like a english gentleman from the 1960's. Totally colonised mind. Have some pride

This is not a fancy dress competition. Our players should come be more modern and refined, stop dressing like an outcast and come across as a Paindoo in a foreign country.

Shalwar kamiz is fine , like some have mentioned that the coats fitting could have been better.

I wonder why our board never objects playing on eid ;australia , england , west indies , south africa and probably nz too will never play a match on christmas.

His clothing doesn't fit and looks cheap. Its a tie event, they are meeting royalty of the host. Atleast wear a shirwani or something a bit more up market. Humiliating.

Still colonised mentally, slave mentality :))

also this has nothing to do with colonized or slave mentality.

I remember back in Highschool in Canada, the atheletes were suppose to wear suits, or atleast wear a tie on the day they were suppose to travel to another school to play.

Tall, dark handsome young man with a little bit of beard as well - should look cool.

Yeah but is there any such requirement in this case? Obviously not.

There's no such condition here, you're like the Indian dude on FB who was happy that Kohli was sitting while other Asian captains were standing, 'house negroes' as Malcolm X once said

Sarfraz looks out of place and completely unprofessional. Looks like he's out for Eid prayers rather than meeting the Queen.

You will not see captain from any other country embarrassing himself like this. Why doesn't he play world cup in the same attire?

The board asked him to do it.
So stop complaining.

He wore Pakistan's national dress representing Pakistan. All PAKISTANIS loved it. What outsiders like or dislike does not matter.

The only problem is that he was not in Pakistan and not with other Pakistanis.

It really sums up the mentality of Pakistani fans. They have become insensitive to embarrassments like Sarfraz and defeats to minnow teams.

Modi wore it when he met the queen. Gandhi... The less said the better.

Does it say at the gates of Buckingham palace, "only suits and pants allowed" ?

Some brown people still suffering from a colonial hangover. Some things will never change

Thats a very weak argument though.

Does it say outside the office only "dress suits and ties allowed"?

Yet you dont wear Pajamas and end up in the office.

Not saying Sarfraz was wrong. But prove your argument by better logical correlation than arguing Buckingham Palace rules.

NARENDRA modi wore a shalwar kameez type outfit when he met the queen
what do you think about that?

Imagine if Kohli had worn Indian style shalwar kameez these same people would have been going gaga over it.

Would've made for a pitch-perfect picture if not for that fastened bottom button on his coat.

You never fasten the bottom button, boys. NEVER.

Anywho, he looks great. Its a good combo: Western jacket on a traditional shalwar kameez.

Oh boy some people are obsessed with every little thing. He wore Shalwar Kameez in front of the queen no big deal. Don't give too much importance to the royals.

Can Sarfaraz (and other captains) do only the top button of the suit. The bottom suit button should always be undone.

Why don’t most players (also saw this in the Indian team photo) not know this.

Everyone talking about Sarfraz, but look at King Kohli’s socks :)))

Wait
Everycommon man wears it. Not everyone wears jeans and t shirts. It is our culture

Yes, common men wear this as sleeping suite , not when going to work.

Only "uncommon man" I knew used to wear this was Altaf Hussain.
